Oops, looks like will.i.am is finally fessing up to stealing a song from Mat Zo and Russian producer/DJ Arty. Kind of.
Will.i.am has been getting a lot of flack about a couple of songs from his latest album and it looks like he’s admitting that he did in fact plagiarized on the track, “Let’s Go (featuring Chris Brown)” from Mat Zo and Arty’s “Rebound.”
The Black Eyed Pea member told KISS FM, “I got in touch with Arty and showed it to him, did a different version to it ’cause I asked him [to] make it newer ’cause I don’t just wanna take your song and rap over it.” Arty, on the other hand, took to Twitter to say that neither will.i.am or anyone from his team contacted him about using his music.
With all the money will.i.am is probably raking in, I’m surprised he can’t hire a legal team to make sure all the licenses have been cleared. He would’ve avoided yet another embarrassing plagiarizing scandal.
Matt and Kim called upon incredible ball handler Pat the Roc for their new video “Let’s Go,” in which he does a series of OMG tricks in one take.
I’m pretty satisfied with my ability to dribble down the length of the driveway but he pretty much puts everyone else to shame, especially with the blasé look he wears on his face like: “ah this? I can do it with my eyes closed. Three basketballs? Yes no problem, throw them over.”
You can see Matt and Kim in the background, totally fascinated by his moves. The track is the first song from their upcoming album Lightning.
