Although Lauren Conrad is no longer a part of the hit reality TV series The Hills, she is still busying herself,  especially with her clothing line LC by Lauren Conrad, MTV News reported.

The young star has always been admired for her laid-back, Californian, girly fashion sense and now fans can achieve the same look by shopping at department store Kohl’s.

LC spoke to MTV News about her line at a press event, saying that there’s a piece in her collection for every type of occasion.

“It’s very much a California brand. It’s all about incorporating new trends and putting our own twist on it — relaxed cool without trying too hard,” she said.

The star is trying to achieve versatility and fashion with her new line, hoping that pieces can be worn much more than once.

“I have a few [favorite pieces],” she said. “I do a lot of basics, so we have a great blazer, a high-waisted black skirt and biker jacket and all those pieces can be traded throughout … it’s a lot of layering, a lot of switching-up, so you can get more mileage

LC is a reality TV star, author and clothing designer – although it seems she does it all, don’t expect her to start designing for males, or even someone without her sense of style.

“I’m not a boy,” she joked, adding she’s too “selfish” to design anything that she couldn’t wear herself.

The 24-year-old beauty had a specific reason for hooking up with Kohl’s.

“They’re very accessible. They’re everywhere and they’re online and they’re affordable,” she explained. “It was a fun way for me to work with a really great company and to say, ‘This is what I think is going to be in in a couple months’ and ‘This is what I’m gonna wear at a great price point and great quality.’”

Lauren Conrad’s spotlight may be gone from reality show, The Hills, but she has deftly redirected it to her newest movie-making endeavor.

Conrad has decided to work with the executive producers of Twilight, Marty Bowen and Wyck Godfrey, to turn her novel, “L.A. Candy,” into a film.

“I mean, you can’t do much better, right?” she remarked to MTV News at the launch of her Kohl’s LC Lauren Conrad clothing line.

According to mtvnews.com, she went on to explain that the book was never meant to be a movie. Instead, Conrad had envisioned it as a TV show. The former Hills star knows a thing or two about TV. “Originally, when people started talking to me about turning the books into television, I was really excited,” she explained. “Then we got approached about the movie and I wasn’t really sure it would work. The story is supposed to take place over a couple of years and it’s hard to do with a movie.”

With doubts of a movie deal in her mind, she went on the book tour, and that’s when inspiration hit her. “I was sitting in a room and then it just came to me,” she explained about why she finally decided to turn it into a film. “I came up with a format that worked and discussed it with them. They really liked it.”
