Laurence Fishburne is leaving ‘CSI: Crime Scene Investigation,’ reports CTV.
Joining the show midway through the 2008-09 season as Dr. Raymond Langston, Fishburne reportedly won’t be back on the crime drama this fall, says a source.
The source spoke anonymously on Tuesday because the announcement has not been officially announced, revealing that the show’s producers anticipated the leave as Fishburne’s movie career has always been his primary focus.
The show will return for its 12th season this fall, and still continues to rank among the 20 top-rated shows on television.
I always though Fishburne was better than television. No offence to TV actors, but he is just such a great actor and has such screen presence, that it’s time for him to focus on films again. Let’s do another ‘Matrix,’ yeah?
Laurence Fishburne has had a tough time with his daughter Montana. First Montana had her shot (no pun intended) in the porn business, and now there is evidence to suggest she’s suicidal.
Sources tell TMZ that Laurence had a private investigator follow Montana around. The investigator caught Montana on tape drinking what is believed to be bleach. However these same sources say Montana knew about the P.I. following her, and she purposely put on a show.
However this tape almost ended up saving Montana’s ass for her assault charges. Her lawyer, Shawn Chapman Holley, had sent the tape to the prosecutor to demonstrate her client’s troubled mental state and help get a plea deal that involved rehab, not jail time.
The prosecutor argues in legal papers, obtained by TMZ, that the video “was just a ploy by the defendant to manipulate the People to offer a more lenient sentence.”
After that, Holley was informed that the tape was B.S. He later informed the court that everyone had been duped.
This girl is a piece of work.
Maybe this will make Montana Fishburne’s dad Laurence Fishburne proud? TMZ has learned Montana has done a nude “photo test” for Playboy.
Apparently the test has Montana going completely full frontal nude. However keep in mind Playboy is artistic, so maybe Laurence won’t mind this as much as her porn video, which she completely gets hammered out by a huge dude.
Montana good luck with Playboy. You certainly need the money as its unlikely you’re on Daddy’s payroll anymore!
Montana Fishburne spoke with her father Laurence Fishburne on Monday. This is the first time the two had spoke since Montana revealed that she was a porn star. Laurence was not too happy.
Montana tells TMZ that Laurence wants nothing to do with his daughter. According to Montana, her dad said, “I’m not going to speak with you ’till you turn your life around.”
Montana says Laurence added, “You embarrassed me.”
And Laurence’s closing remark? According to Montana, Laurence said, “You used your last name. No one uses their real name in porn.”

It’s awesome when people find their niche in life. Good news, Montana Fishburne has found her niche. Apparently she is an awesome porn star!
Vivid Entertainment, the company that produced her first porn flick, has just offered her a multi-picture deal reports TMZ. Vivid Entertainment Steve Hirsch says that Montana’s first DVD is sold out across the country, and is also on backorder.
Laurence must be very proud!
It appears that Montana Fishburne may not have the support of her father Laurence Fishburne, however she does have the support of her Mom. Of course we are referring to Montana’s career choice of becoming a porn star, and she has chosen the classy porn name of “Chippy D.”
“She loves me and is concerned and worried about me. She wants me to be ok and wants whatever is best for me,” Montana told TMZ.
Montana also told TMZ that she has tried calling her father Laurence multiple times, but he will not return her calls.
Montana’s Mom is Hajna Moss-Fishburne – a former actress and current fitness trainer.
Laurence Fishburne’s daughter, 19 year old Montana Fishburne, recently starred in a porn film released by Vivid Entertainment. Not surprisingly, Laurence has been less than thrilled over his daughter’s career choice, and Montana recently commented about her relationship with her father.
“I hope it’s not hurting him. It wasn’t done to hurt him,” Montana tells PEOPLE. “But I think it will take time and talking through the issues. Eventually, I hope he will be proud of me.”
“Being in an adult film is not a big deal to me,” Montana says. “It’s something I always wanted to do. I have always been comfortable in my body and with my sexuality.”
Laurence apparently was stunned when he heard the news about his daughter. “I hear through relatives that he’s upset, but I haven’t talked to him directly for him to tell me his feelings.”
So now the question becomes, based on the picture above, do we think she is a hot porn star, or a really disgusting looking porn star?
Although he’s the newest CSI cast member, academy award nominee, Laurence Fishburne says that prior to auditioning for the show he’d never seen an episode of “CSI”.
According to CTV.ca, Fishburne said in an interview, “I felt a little stupid and embarrassed that I hadn’t watched the show.”
When William Petersen, who plays lead character, Gil Grissom, announced that he was leaving the show earlier this year, producers started searching for a new lead character for the crime series.
Starting early 2009, Fishburne will play a character called “The Professor”.
Petersen will make guest appearances on the show and will continue to be an executive producer for the series.
Fishburne will start taping with the series in September.
