Apple Launches iPad2 at SXSW – And We Have Video

In what’s going to go down as one of the smartest marketing moves of the year, Apple has taken over a Gold’s Gym on Sixth Street in downtown Austin and made it into a temporary pop-up store to meet the demand of all the techies, hipsters and media who are craving an iPad2.

As we waited in line for the store to open… a rumbling noise was heard down the street. Suddenly, like a pack of wolves, the Apple Geniuses ran down the line giving everyone high-fives.

Yes, this was written on the new iPad. And yes, it’s spectacular.

EA Sports NHL 11 Launch

It’s that time of year again, the start of the new hockey season and the launch of the newest version of the EA NHL Franchise. NHL 11 is the best one yet, and we can say this honestly as we had a chance to play it. To celebrate the debut, the good people at EA had a NHL 11 Tournament with top rookie prospects, including Taylor Hall, Tyler Sequin and Nazem Kadri.

Conan O’Brien Writers Launch Their Own Show Hosted By Andy Richter

No question what makes a great comedy show is a great writing team, and Conan O’Brien has one of the best!

In order to offer a glimpse into the great comedy team, Conan O’Brien’s writing staff are filming an hour long special called Team Coco Presents Conan’s Writers Live at the second annal Just for Laughs festival in Chicago next month, reports PerezHilton.

The concept is to offer a taste of what Conan’s new TBS show will be like. Andy Richter will be hosting the show.

Rogers Breaks Activation Record With iPhone Launch

Rogers Wireless reported the best sales weekend in it’s history with the launch of the much-hyped Apple iPhone. The Canadian telecom giant confirmed that tens of thousands of iPhones sold out in many of the launch centres across Canada.

The news is sure to bring a sigh of relief to Rogers CEO Ted Rogers, who faced a wave of criticism for the iPhone’s expensive monthly rates. Almost 60,000 people signed a petition against Rogers, vowing to take their business elsewhere unless changes were made. Apple was rumoured to have cut back on iPhone shipments as a form of punishment for the abnormally high rate plans.The backlash, it appears, did little to stop the surge of sales.

The second shipment of iPhones is set to arrive at Rogers retail centres tomorrow.
