After weeks of back and forth emails trying to schedule an interview, I finally caught up with the jet setting DJ Antoine on Skype right after he arrived from Italy and before he set off that same evening for Sao Paulo, Brazil.
Such a hectic schedule is nothing new for the Swiss house and electro DJ and producer who is a mega star in Europe. When he is not performing in front of gyrating neon-clothed crowds in exotic locations such as Moscow, Bangkok, Cairo and Dubai, he is working with everyone from Cyndi Lauper, to Snoop Dogg to Pitbull to produce veritable dance anthems.
In fact his album output is positively prolific. To date, DJ Antoine has released 51 albums with his newest album Sky is the Limit scheduled for its North American release on May 14.
“I worked on this album 15 months in my studio with Mad Mark. For me it was important to work with different writers and different singers. Every day some new ideas were born,” he says.
While his personal favourite song off the album is “Crazy World,” because “when I play it in the club you get goose bumps, it goes really under your skin,” other tracks such as Bella Vita and Sky is the Limit deliver the kind of catchy, clean, pump up house that differentiates DJ Antoine from the dirty dubstep sound that’s been popularized by scores of Dutch DJs in North America.
It may sound like an odd combination, but it works unbelievably well!
The pop princess joined the infamous rock band on stage during a recent performance in Las Vegas and she held her own! With all the wigs and over the top outfits, it’s easy to forget that Katy is a truly amazing vocalist, and her contribution to “Beast of Burden” made a great song even better. After watching this video, I know one thing for sure: you should never underestimate the girl with the whipped cream bra.
I bet she woke up happy in Vegas this time around!
In a new edition of “Making Waves,” Las Vegas natives shake it up a bit with this exclusive acoustic performance of their hit single, “Radioactive.”
As their song continues to dominate airwaves, the band chats with ANDPOP host Simon Mohos on the all too real and unglamorous life of being struggling musicians.
“Growing up as a band, we played a lot of casino gigs,” said D. Wayne Sermon, the band’s guitarist. “At the beginning, we just had to beg them to let us play for them. We did these four to six hour gigs, three to four time a week for minimal pay.”
“There was pay?” asked frontman Dan Reynolds.
The road to success was never easy but it’s an achievement that earned the band a loyal fan base that spans the globe. The boys also let us in on what Charlie Sheen told them just as they were making it big.

I guess some people in the world really believe those Twilight movies are real. They’re not real people!! In Serbia, some people literally believe vampires are among them. A home that a well-known vampire lives in recently collapsed, sending the town into a frenzy. They think he’s roaming the hills looking for a new home. When I first heard about an upcoming movie about a team of illusionists stealing from banks and hurting the jobs of business leaders, I was a bit skeptical.
But after watching this trailer, I am almost as intrigued as the audience in the film.
Directed by Louis Leterrier, the upcoming crime thriller Now You See Me features a stellar cast of Jesse Eisenberg, Woody Harrelson, Isla Fischer, Morgan Freeman, Dave Franco and Mark Ruffalo.
Eisenberg, Harrelson, Fisher, and Franco play a team of sneaky magicians who seem to rob a bank in France while on stage in Las Vegas. Soon after showering their audience with thousands of dollar bills, they find themselves in trouble with the FBI, led by Ruffalo and Melanie Laurent.
While I know the cast here is a big selling point, there really isn’t anything like a movie about magic (and I’m not talking about the cheesy magic card tricks kind).
Using illusions to take on daring and illegal heists, this movie is sure to cause some thrills during the blockbuster season when it hits theatres on June 7, 2013.
Rihanna probably needed to let off some steam the other day because as she headed to a shooting range to practice her shot.
Currently in Las Vegas for the iHeartRadio music festival, the singer forgone luxury shopping and gambling at casinos to instead add to her bad girl image by shooting a gun.
“Bad gals do it well! We got our guns in the muthaf*ckin air,” she tweeted.
Along with the tweet, Rihanna also included a photo. In the image, she is seen standing at the forefront wearing a cut off T-shirt and showing off her new short hair style. In the background, three women stand with her serving as her posse.
But considering the next picture she tweeted, something tells me that this isn’t the first time Rihanna has held a gun. As she is seen holding up the aftermath of her stationary target practice, the majority of the bullet holes were in or around the red circle of dummy.
Rihanna must be pretty damn good with a gun. I don’t think I want to ever mess with her!
Chris Brown continues making bad decisions we’re highly uncomfortable with, this time getting a questionable tattoo on his neck that resembles a battered woman. This comes three years after pleading guilty to felony assault for beating his then-girlfriend Rihanna the night before the Grammys.
Brown showed up on a Las Vegas red carpet with his new ink. Although it resembles the photo police took of Rihanna, the woman in his tattoo has more severe injuries such as a black eye and stitches on her lips.
Brown insists the resemblance isn’t intentional. His rep told TMZ the tattoo is supposed to be a Mexican-themed skull in commemoration of Dia de los Muertos. And according to the tattoo artist, Brown brought him the “sugar skull” design from a MAC ad he’d seen.
Still, given his history wouldn’t he understand how people would see this as distasteful?

The only thing getting us through the whole Chavril (Chad Kroeger + Avril Lavigne) affair are photos of Prince Harry, partying naked in Las Vegas. Thanks Harry! You were really there for us this time, ready and willing to distract us from Canada’s contribution to the world.
Here’s what we know: TMZ published photos showing Prince Harry completely naked, covering his royal jewels. Apparently Harry and a few friends were partying at the MGM Grand Hotel and Casino last Friday and invited a few ladies up to his VIP suite to play strip poker.
One photo shows Harry being embraced from behind by a topless woman while another has him behind a nude lady, next to a pool table.
Looks like everyone lost this game, huh?
Harry, 27, is supposed to return to his military duties when he returns to the UK, but could be reprimanded for the photos… which naturally, makes the rebellious prince somehow more attractive to his fans.
When I first heard about the World Tricking Championship I legit thought it was some type of international prankster competition where a bunch of Ashton Kutcher look-a-likes assembled in a busy city and played jokes on unassuming citizens, monitored by a panel of judges. Well, apparently I was WAY off base, which makes sense because the logistics involved in a pranking competition would be complex.
In fact, tricking is a form of acrobatics where the athletes combine chains of acrobatic kicks, flips and twists in combinations or combos. Used in a sentence (provided by Urban Dictionary):
Gymnast #1: *in flamboyant voice* Oh my god! Those stupid trickers are taking up the entire floor again!
Gymnast #2: At least they aren’t as bad as those Parkour-Freerunner guys…
Now that that’s cleared up I can get to the real point. The World Tricking Championship was held in Las Vegas in May and they recently released a mashup showcasing the best routines. The competitors are basically superheroes, flipping and flying like it’s no big deal. I love that tricking focuses on fitness but also self-expression, so there’s a real emphasis on individuality.

Last night I didn’t intend to watch So You Think You Can Dance but then they sucked me in like they always do and were CRUEL to me. My cry count ended up being a whopping three and I felt the tears coming at other points in the night too.
One of my shameless cry-fests happened when 29-year-old mother and dancer Bree Hafen auditioned for the judges. Of course, she retold her touching story about putting dance on the back burner while she was raising her two beautiful children. Although she feels guilty, she decided to take some time to realize her true potential [cue violins].
That had me going already, but then Nigel had to go and invite her two adorable kids to the judging panel so they could properly watch their mom perform and cheer for her while she danced to Ingrid Michaelson’s “So What.”
I’m not done. After they handed her a plane ticket to Las Vegas they let her two-year-old toddler dance on stage and she was beyond ADORBZ. She wore a pink tutu and made pretty much everyone cry, including Mary Murphy and Lil C (well, Lil C on the inside). It’s G-rated, Hallmark entertainment at its best.

The Killers’ Tommy Marth was found dead at his Las Vegas home on Monday and his death has been ruled a suicide, according to reports.
The Killers released a statement on Tuesday saying: “Last night we lost our friend Thomas Marth. Our prayers are with his family. There’s a light missing in Las Vegas tonight. Travel well, Tommy.”
A tweet was also sent out from the band’s official Twitter account earlier this week announcing his passing: ”there’s a light missing in Las Vegas tonight.”
Marth, who was 33, played saxophone on two Killer albums, Sam’s Town and Day & Age and also toured with the band in 2008 and 2009.
“I’m just trying to make sense of things right now and help some people who aren’t doing very well,” local musician Ryan Pardey told Las Vegas Weekly. “He was one of the most talented people in our community and one of my closest friends since we were 18.”
Dev and Enrique Iglesias are not “Naked” in their new music video, though the title hints at it. Misleading as it is, there’s still plenty to like.
The two wander separately around a Planet Hollywood in Las Vegas but never quite run into each other. Dev sports an angled Girl With the Dragon Tattoo blunt cut and drives around the brightly lit city with her girlfriends. Meanwhile, Enrique is inside gambling away all his money at the tables. Eventually they head to the same club, but alas, their eyes do not meet over the sweaty dance floor.
Though they’re never in the same shot, I think the two finally meet in the end as they head into the elevator with their suitcases. I guess that’s destiny for you.
The song has a strong dance element but it’s not the summer track I’ve been craving. What do you think of it?

There is a Las Vegas crook with an obvious death wish. Mike Tyson was staying at the Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas Saturday night with his family, when they were woken to a surprise.
During the night while Mike was fast asleep in his PJs, a crook broke into his hotel room. Mike was awoken by some noise and a flashlight, but the intruder ran out of the room before Mike fully woke up.
Lucky for the intruder because Mike probably would have broken the guy’s face into a million pieces.
A rep for the hotel tells TMZ, “We have received a report of an incident that is currently under investigation. As always, guest safety is of the utmost importance.”
MediaTakeOut.com has confirmed Wiz Khalifa has married long time girlfriend Amber Rose. They wed Thursday night in Las Vegas.
This is not completely surprising as Amber is pregnant with Wiz’s child. No word from Kanye about this new marriage. You may recall Amber use to date Kanye.

Yet another example why America needs better gun control laws. Have you ever seen the show Repo Games on Spike?
It’s actually a fairly funny show that follows a repossession crew as they take back cars with outstanding loans. However, if the debtors are able to answer 3 of 5 trivia questions correctly, they can keep their car, and the show will pay off the car loan. Seems like a pretty sweet deal.
Well a Las Vegas man must have been jealous he wasn’t on the show, because he actually started shooting at the Repo crew during filming. The man, Carlos Barron, thought the production was too close to his house. His neighbors were contestants on the show.
TMZ has obtained video of the incident, and Barron can be heard threatening production members …saying, “I’ll blow your ass away man … I will kill your ass.”
As the cameras rolled, one crew member instructs a cameraman, “Tape motherf**ker … this is real, real sh*t … that’s what Anderson Cooper does, b*tch.”
It’s pretty amazing video. And we guess there is no question now that Repo Games isn’t staged.
Shania Twain is taking up residency in Las Vegas, reports CTV.
After a long hiatus from singing, Twain plans to perform a two-year residency at Caesars Palace beginning in 2012.
“I will call Celine (Dion) — somebody should warn her now,” Twain joked at a news conference in Las Vegas. ”I think Celine will be very insightful and very helpful.”
Since taking up residency in Vegas is always a great boost for careers and proved so with fellow Canadian singer Dion, Twain is hoping it will help her kickstart her singing as well. Her career came to a halt after her marriage ended with producer Robert Lange.
Tickets will reportedly range from $55-250 and went on sale Wednesday evening.
“I’m beyond excited,” said Twain. ”I feel like I’m on the top of the world. Honestly, I feel like I’ve climbed a very giant mountain and I’m just standing right on top with my arms open wide.
“This is really beautiful, really lovely, I’m very excited today.”
Good for her! I always said taking up residency in Vegas would be great for her, so I’m glad she made the smart decision. Not only can she spend time with her family on a stable schedule, but she will routinely get back into performing. I look forward to her return.
