Rod Stewart?s daughter, Kimberly, has ended her engagement to Laguna Beach?s Talan Torriero, reports the Associated Press.
“It was just too soon to enter into a lifelong commitment,” their representatives said in a joint statement. “It is better to have a brief engagement than a short marriage. The couple continue to share their time together and remain open to whatever the future may hold.”
The 26-year-old socialite and 19-year-old MTV reality show star got engaged earlier this month. They remain friends, according to Stewart?s representative, Elliot Mintz.
Stewart is Paris Hilton?s close friend and was once rumoured to be a replacement for Nicole Richie on Fox?s cancelled reality show, The Simple Life.
Torriero is now attempting to start a music career.

People magazine reported the 26-year old daughter of Rod Stewart was engaged to the 19-year-old MTV’s Laguna Beach star. The plans were confirmed by Torriero’s spokesman, Jack Ketsoyan.
After dating for just a few unpublicized weeks, the couple announced their surprise engagement at a Los Angeles party for Microsoft’s Xbox. According to People, Stewart showed off a 5-carat diamond engagement ring.
After her recent appology to Jennifer Aniston, it appears we haven’t heard the last of Kimberly Stewart’s candidness.
Stewart, the daughter of the famed rocker Rod Stewart, reportedly made “sick” jokes about Sir Paul McCartney’s amputee wife, Heather Mills during an interview with Stuff magazine.
Sir Paul McCartney and his wife are devoted to charity work which helps other amputees after Mills, a former model, lost her leg in a motorbike accident in 1993.
While the joke itself was tasteless, it is also complicated by other factors.
Stewart previously made headlines when she unleashed a potential feud after calling Jennifer Aniston “homely.”
“I like her because she’s homely. She obviously has to have something else- it’s not like she’s gorgeous or anything.”
Jennifer admitted the incident ruined her night.
