5. Summer Lovin’ – Grease
Call me nostalgic, but admit that this upbeat shoe-tapper from the epic movie is irreplaceable. I’ve yet to meet a person that doesn’t know the chorus from this song, let along the funky dance actions to accompany the lyrics. This throw-back is guaranteed to get some hips twisting and some put you in the mood to throw on those tight leather pants that used to fit so perfectly.
4. Summer Breeze – Jason Mraz
This representation of Mraz’s remarkable voice is better than Xanax on a particularly tough day. It’s laid back lyrics and acoustic guitar combine to weave a relaxing melody that anyone can enjoy. When it’s time to lay out in the sun with accompanying music, “Summer Breeze” is a quintessential fit.
3. Don’t Trust Me – 3OH!3
Okay, I’ll admit that this seems completely irrelevant to the whole summer thing. Yet, the first time I heard this catchy alternative tune, I happened to be driving down a teeming street in the throes of road rage. As song as I heard “Don’t Trust Me” come on the radio, all anger dissipated, the window rolled down, and the head started bobbing to maximum volume. What better way to introduce summer?

Next month’s WrestleMania event is set to feature a one-two punch of music entertainment from Pussycat Doll Nicole Scherzinger and Kid Rock.
According to People, Scherzinger will open the pay-per-view event with “America the Beautiful,” a tradition that has been carried out by the likes of Ray Charles, Aretha Franklin, Ashanti and John Legend in the past.
Kid Rock will later take the stage for a medley of his greatest hits, including “Cowboy” and “Bawitdaba.”

Kanye West, Fall Out Boy and Kid Rock are bound for Washington, D.C. to headline the Youth Inaugural Ball, the Presidential Inaugural Committee announced Saturday.
The event at the Hilton Washington will air on MTV as part of its Inauguration Night coverage, “Be the Change: Live From the Inaugural Special,” beginning at 10 p.m. Tuesday.
Usher and Rosario Dawson will report live from the ball as MTV Guest Correspondents, joining MTV News Correspondent Sway Calloway.
The show aims to celebrate the huge youth voter turnout in the presidential election, as well as the work young people are doing to drive social change through volunteer service.
“This year, millions of young people got involved and worked to bring change to this country,” said PIC Executive Director Emmett S. Beliveau in a statement. “We wanted to make sure this Inauguration recognized the important role young Americans are playing in making our nation stronger.”
He added: “With MTV’s coverage highlighting national service and reaching millions of young people around the world, this event will be a great follow-up to Monday’s kickoff of the President-elect’s new national service initiative, ‘Renew America Together.’”
The Youth Inaugural Ball is one of 10 official inaugural balls being hosted by the committee that day.
Waffles weren’t on the menu for Kid Rock on Tuesday when he was sentenced to one year probation, six hours of anger management counseling and 80 hours of community service for his involvement in a fight that took place in an Atlanta Waffle House last October.
After a gig in Atlanta, Rock and his entourage headed to the waffle house where they got into an altercation with Harlen Akins, 39. The altercation led to a fight in the parking lot with Akins allegedly breaking one of the restaurant’s windows and Kid Rock driving off on his tour bus before cops stopped and charged Rock and five others on misdemeanor battery charges.
Rock pleaded no contest to one count of simple battery with four other counts of battery being dropped. Band mates Jason E. Krause and James W. Murphy also pleaded no contest and received similar sentences. The charges were dropped against the other three men.
Rock’s attorney, Darryl Cohen, told the Atlanta-Journal Constitution that Rock was “not terribly unhappy” with the sentence. “I think my client is satisfied. He would have liked to have tried it. He came within a hairbreadth of going to trial.”
Kid Rock was also fined $1000. That could have bought a lot of waffles.
According to British press reports, Kid Rock was sent to the hospital minutes before he was scheduled to go on stage at a music festival in England.
The organizers of the festival said the rocker had been hospitalized in Nottingham due to dehydration and stomach cramps.
Minutes before Rock was scheduled to perform on-stage, an announcement came over the public-address system which said Rock was unwell. Rock reportedly had a late night at Central London’s Whiskey Mist nightclub by partying into the wee hours of the early morning.
Just recently, it has been reported that Rock’s ex-wife Pamela Anderson was back together with former husband Tommy Lee. According to reports, when asked about Anderson, Rock said: “If I see her, I say hello, but I kind of don’t want to be on that scene. I touched the stove, it’s f—— hot, I don’t want to touch it any more.”
Rick Salomon is about to join rockers Tommy Lee and Kid Rock on the list of Pamela Anderson’s ex-husbands.
The Canadian starlet is seeking to annul her five-month marriage to Salomon making this her third failed attempt at lifelong marital bliss.
The couple’s union started in the city of quickie weddings. They married in Las Vegas between magician Hans Klok’s shows where Anderson was appearing as an assistant.
Almost immediately after the Vegas nuptials, rumours were rampant that the two had called it quits.
The British Columbian actress posted a statement on her website in December saying that the pair was “working things out”. A little over a month later, she filed for divorce citing “irreconcilable differences.”
Salomon shares the bad-boy image of Anderson’s previous husbands and is best known as the man responsible for exposing a now infamous sex tape featuring his ex, Paris Hilton.
Anderson, 40, has two children from her marriage to drummer Tommy Lee and has told press that she plans on shifting her focus to her boys during this time.
In a new interview with Rolling Stone magazine, Kid Rock makes harsh claims about his Canadian bombshell
ex-wife, Pamela Anderson. He says that at one point in their four-month marriage, she pretended to have had a miscarriage while upset with him.
“She’s in Vancouver shooting a movie and I have Lakers seats on the floor, and I’m gonna go to the Lakers game with my friend Jesse James,” he told the magazine.
“I’m like, ‘Baby, I got these tickets. I’ll see you on the weekend there,’ and that leads into her saying, ‘You don’t care about me, blah blah blah,’” Rock says. “She finally comes up with this: ‘I just had a miscarriage’…and hangs the phone up.”
Rock said he had been unaware if Anderson was pregnant, but he chartered a plane to Vancouver to take care of his wife. But, “When I get there, she’s partying at this restaurant, drinking champagne, jumping on the tables. I’m thinking, That’s a quick recovery from a miscarriage.”
Anderson recently became engaged again to a professional poker player.
KID ROCK looks set to lose a few friends in the hip-hop industry after dismissing rap as “easy”.
Reverend Run, real name Joseph Simmons, recently confirmed an album with Kid Rock and the rock-rapper will also appear on Lil’ Jon’s album Crunk Rock, due for release later this year (07).
But the pair may reconsider working with him again after the rock-rapper branded their craft facile.
He says, “Writing a rap, to me, is easy. I could write a rap like that.
“But writing songs and melodies and s**t that’s hopefully going to stick around for 30, 40 years is f**king hard.”

With his divorce from 2006 wife PAMELA ANDERSON almost finalised, the rock rapper is now dating Danish Sports Illustrated model MAY ANDERSEN.
The new couple arrived hand-in-hand at SIR ELTON JOHN’s 60th birthday party concert in New York at the weekend and sat through the three hour show together.
The Madison Square Garden party/show came after Rock and Andersen attended the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame induction ceremony together on March 12.
Andersen’s past boyfriends include JACKASS star STEVE-O. Kid Rock split from Anderson in November after four months of marriage.

LATEST: Rap/rocker KID ROCK will not be charged over his alleged assault of a woman in his native Michigan, due to lack of evidence.
A 28-year-old woman claimed the AMERICAN BAD ASS star shoved her as she attempted to leave a party at his house in Macomb County on March 8.
However, prosecutors said the rocker, who recently divorced PAMELA ANDERSON, will not face charges because no sufficient evidence has been found to back up the woman’s allegations.
Oakland County Prosecutor DAVID GORCYCA says, “The reports are fraught with differing eyewitness accounts and without substantiating injuries there exists insufficient evidence to support a charge.”
Rock, real name ROBERT RITCHIE, said he is considering suing the woman for making the ‘false’ claims.
His lawyer MICHAEL NOVAK says, “These allegations were taken very seriously by Kid Rock and he’s not going to walk away. It’s just a complete, unfounded lie.”
