During a stop in Hong Kong to promote her latest album “All I Ever Wanted,” first “American Idol” winner Kelly Clarkson shared her thoughts on YouTube sensation and “Britain’s Got Talent” contestant Susan Boyle.
“I think it’s awesome,” Clarkson told The Associated Press. “I’m bawling whenever I hear her sing.”
But not everyone is praising 48-year-old Boyle. “Smile” singer Lily Allen doesn’t see why there’s so much hype surrounding the Scottish singer. Allen wrote, “Susan Boyle is so overrated,” on her Twitter account over the weekend.

KELLY CLARKSON has reinstated plans to tour the U.S. this year (07) – with a much smaller tour than the one she cancelled two months ago.
In June (07), the pop star ditched plans to promote her new album My December because of poor ticket sales. The cancellation came just days after she fired her manager.
Two months on Clarkson has finalised plans for a series of dates starting in October in Verona, New York State – in venues significantly smaller than those previously booked, reports MTV. (IG/WNWCM/ES)

KELLY CLARKSON struggles with insomnia – because her songs keep her awake at night.
The singer admits many of her lyrics and hits come to her as she’s trying to get to sleep and has to write them down or record them on the spot.
She says, “The moment a song comes to me, I have to get it out. That’s why I have a hard time sleeping, because a lot of those times are at night.”

Pop star KELLY CLARKSON refused to scrap material for her latest album MY DECEMBER on the orders of label boss Clive Davis, because she didn’t want to be a “pushover”.
The Because Of You singer – whose new LP sold 291,000 copies in its first
week of release (04Jul07) – was offered $10 million (£5 million) from executives at her record labels RCA and Sony BMG to record new tracks, because they feared her own songwriting might not generate as many hits as her two previous releases.
But Clarkson declined the generous amount because she insists her music isn’t meant to appeal to the label bosses – whom she brands as members of the older generation.
She tells the August issue of U.S. magazine Blender, “(I told Davis) I don’t
know you very well, and I am not a bulls**ter. I get (that) you don’t like the
album. You’re 80; you’re not supposed to like my album.
“I literally got told to my face that it wouldn’t sell more than 600,000 copies. And I got lied to. One reason I don’t like working with people at the
label is that they lie… If you’re going with the flow and not fighting, that’s settling. I can’t take that. Life is just too short to be a pushover.”

Singer KELLY CLARKSON has been forced to scrap her U.S. tour due to poor ticket sales.
The American Idol winner, who fired her manager this week, was due to hit the road next month.
Clarkson writes on her website: “I can’t tell you how much I’ve been looking forward to getting out there to perform for y’all… It really is disappointing for me to have to tell you that I won’t be coming out to tour this summer.
“The fact is that touring is just too much too soon. But I promise you that we’re going to get back out there as soon as is humanly possible to give you a show that will be even better.”
Michael Rapino, boss at ticket company LiveNation, adds, “Ticket sales have not been what we anticipated and we came to the realisation that we had bit off more than we could chew.
“In the end, we are in the Kelly Clarkson business and for that reason we believe that this decision will only benefit her and her fans in the long run.”
Clarkson releases her new album My December later this month. Fans can get refunds for tickets at the place of purchase.

KELLY CLARKSON is laughing off reports her new album has been scrapped by releasing it in July – on schedule.
A British tabloid claimed label bosses at RCA and Sony BMG were far from impressed with the American Idol star’s My December album – and told the singer to get back in the studio and re-record tracks.
But its seems someone misinterpreted executives’ delight with the new release – it will hit stores on July 24, as scheduled.
The first single from the album, Never Again, debuted at number eight on the Billboard Hot 100 last week.

A message from music producer David Kahne on a Kelly Clarkson message board says the public can expect an amazing new CD from the singer.
In the note, posted on Kelly Clarkson Express, Kahne says “The songs are great, and Kelly is singing perfectly. It’s a very aggressive and powerful group of songs and performances, and Kelly is doing things I’ve never heard her do before.”
There are no singles to be released at this point, but Kahne has hinted “Maybe,” “Anymore,” and “Yeah,” all performed on Clarkson’s Addicted tour, will be included on the CD.
“Hope the final result meets your expectations,” the email also said. “Kelly is trying to do something special and meaningful, and I think she’s achieving it beyond her own dreams.”
There has been no release date announced.
Idol winner Kelly Clarkson went wild on stage, throwing her good girl image right out the door when she attended a Metal Skool concert at the Key Club in West Hollywood Monday Night.
Clarkson, 24, attended the concert with Yellowcard frontman, Ryan Key, 26. Both got an invited up on stage by singer Michael Star of Metal Skool. Clarkson roughed up her image by taking off her vest and throwing it into the crowd, and drinking a bottle of liquor with Key.
Clarkson and Key then joined Star for their rendition of Guns N’ Roses’ “Sweet Child Of Mine,” while doing air guitar movements.
After a wild night at a rock concert it is back to work as the singer has to slim down her figure if she wants a deal to sponsor healthy drinks.
Clarkson has signed a contract with Glasceau to sponsor flavored Vitamin Water. In order to advertise the drink using Clarkson, she must lose a little bit of weight.
Not wasting any time, Clarkson has been on an all-organic diet and she even had a personal chef with her who prepared nothing but healthy meals on the “Addicted” tour.
Clarkson feels she needs to send the right message about eating.
“Obviously, I have a lot of young fans. I just realized that I have a platform. If you have a voice, you might as well make it a positive one,” she said, reports All Headline News.
