Oh the Grammy Awards ceremony, an award show that very little people have watched since the 1990s. However, each year the award show books the biggest musical acts to perform at the ceremony.
Last year the show featured a familiar scantily clad Lady Gaga and this year we will see Miss Katy Perry, also scantily clad. Surprised?. Perhaps the singer will tone down her sex appeal because of the controversy that her world famous cleavage caused on a Sesame Street segment (that never aired) and because she is a married woman now. Although it is doubtful that her husband, comedian Russell Brand, would stick his nose up at one of those cotton candy costumes (that are probably edible).
Due to the success of her album, “Teenage Dream,” and that damn catchy title track that I can’t seem to get out of my head, it seems that Perry is the perfect choice to perform at the Grammy’s. The singer has also been nominated in four categories.
It should be a good night for Perry and all of her fans, including the Sesame Street producers, we know you wanted her to wear that costume.
The Grammy’s will air on February 13.
In case you haven’t seen it, Katy Perry’s husband Russell Brand Tweeted a pic of the pop star on New Year’s Day. Unfortunately the picture was not the most glamours photo of Katy, showing her laying in bed without any makeup (sound like a familiar song?).
Perry didn’t look very happy in the picture as you can see, and it was removed later in the day after 1.7 million people viewed it.
Posting unflattering pictures has become sort of a ritual for the young couple. Let’s not forget Perry dubbed him a “bridezilla” and showed off a picture of him wearing a wedding dress.
Brand was afraid to retaliate saying, “I’m trying to think of a way to get revenge. There are photos of her on my phone that could go nuclear. I’m so tempted but I feel I’m going to need my testicles for the future.”
Perezhilton.com has learned that teenage dream Katy Perry has decided to take the last name of her new husband, Russell Brand.
Katy revealed on the Ellen DeGeneres show that she would officially be known to the world as Katy Brand, and moreover, she loves the new name.
“Like if I’m at an event or something like that, and they want special attention, they go, ‘Mrs. Brand!’ And I go shwoosh [looks back].”
While I believe Katy in that she wants to take her husband’s name legally, I am skeptical as to how this translates professionally. Is her next album really going to say “Katy Brand” on the cover? Because with her tight jean-shorts, candy-land bras and wigs, and California-girl attitude, the archetype of a happily-married woman does not seem to fit Katy’s style, or brand, if you will.
Regardless of what her last name ends up being, the more significant thing to realize is how the star is clearly gushing about her new marriage and will take any chance to talk about it. Russell thinks she’s pretty without any makeup on, and thinks she’s funny when she tells the punchline wrong. Cuuttteeee.
The annual Grammy nominations were announced last night at a ceremony where Katy Perry performed her popular single “California Girls”.
Eminem led the ceremony with an impressive ten nominations followed by Bruno Mars who garnered seven. Lady Gaga and Jay-Z are both nominated for a respectable six awards. Canadian favorite The Arcade Fire snuck in there with three nominations.

Katy Perry’s Dad, Keith Hudson, attended the AMA’s on Sunday where RadarOnline caught up with the proud father to talk about the newlyweds.
Hudson told RadarOnline he “could not have wished for a better son-in-law in Russell. He makes my girl so happy. She’s so happy and he makes her light up. They’re going to be just fine…”
Then, he threw in this zinger: “You couldn’t see two f**king happier people.”

Katy Perry and new hubby Russell Brand ran into some rough luck while honeymooning in the Maldives. It turns out the California girl got a bad spider bite near the beginning of the trip, putting her on medication that left her too exhausted to….erm…fully enjoy her honeymoon.
The couple sought out medical attention after a mysterious rash crept up Perry’s legs, according to Radar Online.
Perry and Brand spent their trip at the Soneva Fushi resort in an $8000-a-night suite. The resort is notorious for being “paparazzi proof,” perfect for the very private couple.
At least it wasn’t a radioactive spider, Katy! There’s only enough room for one Peter Parker in this world.
Katy Perry is now a married woman, but according to the musician herself, it would seem that she’s still got a crazy sex drive, reports RadarOnline.
“Like Ludacris rapped, ‘I’m a lady in the street and a freak in the bed,” Perry told Now Magazine.
How good, you ask? “I can’t rate myself, but if you ask Russell I’m sure he’d give me a ten out of ten,” she said.
As you probably already know, Katy Perry married Russel Brand in India this past week. Despite Brand’s rocky relationship past, Perry is confident in their dedication to each other.
“He’s made no secret of what his life was like before me, but that’s then and this is the future,” said Perry.
“He’s cheated in the past but he knows how good he has it with me and I know he’d never do anything to jeopardize that. I trust him 100 percent.”
Katy Perry and Russell Brand finally tied the knot this past Saturday in what is being described as a “traditional Hindu ceremony” at the Aman-i-Khas resort in India, the same resort at which Brand proposed to Perry on New Year’s Eve.
The couple’s rep confirmed their nuptials, stating “Russell Brand and Katy Perry are overjoyed to confirm that they were pronounced Mr. and Mrs. Brand on Saturday, October 23. The very private and spiritual ceremony, attended by the couples’ closest family and friends was performed by a Christian minister and longtime friend of the Hudson Family. The backdrop was the inspirational and majestic countryside of Northern India.”
You can’t call it a traditional Hindu ceremony if it’s being performed under a different religion, guys! You’re so silly.
Though the venue was covered with colourful lights and flower garlands, there was one installment that was not strictly decorative. Radar Online reports that the ceremony and reception were heavily guarded by security in order to keep nosy paparazzi away from the celebration.

TMZ.com reports that Katy Perry’s episode of Sesame Street, which was set to air in January, has been removed from their lineup due to her so-called exposed breasts. In the episode she sings a parody of her song “Hot and Cold” while she is dressed in a Tinkerbell-esque green dress showing minimal cleavage.
The track was leaked on Youtube and attained nearly a million views. After seeing the clip many parents began sending complaints to Sesame Street for the material. They believe it is inappropriate for their young children.
Honestly. the clip is tame. There are too hypothetical reasons why the clip was really yanked from Sesame Street.
1. The parents became aroused by Katy Perry and are afraid that their sexual oppression will be awakened.
2. Elmo is really the salacious one. He does have that Freudian phallic appearance.
Poor Katy Perry, she started out as a Christian singer under the guise, Katy Hudson. Clearly she has changed her image but deep down she is still a good Christian girl. Like Jessica Simpson, Katy can’t help that her breasts are too large for kid’s programming.
This was an obvious screw up on part of the Sesame Street producers. It seems odd that they should hire Katy Perry to make a cameo appearance on their show when she sings of nothing but sex. They should probably further research their pop stars before putting them on mainstream kids television. The much buzzed-about bachelorette party for singer Katy Perry has finally happened.
Radar Online reports that Perry and some close friends, including fellow artist and BFF Rihanna, took the Hard Rock Hotel Beach Club in Vegas by storm this weekend. The partygoers proceeded to celebrate Katy’s engagement in the most rock star way possible…by, erm, sitting in the corner of the pool and smoking?
Okay, so it wasn’t the wild and crazy bash that we were all expecting. Still, the guests seemed pretty content to be there, especially Rihanna, who was thoughtful enough to bring along her finest red wig for the occasion.

Yes, our ingenious host Jordan Bortolotti had a mission Sunday evening, to get Justin Bieber a fake ID so he can attend the amazing after parties. But besides that, we had some great chats with Kardinal Offishall, Emily Osment, Katy Perry, Kellan Lutz, Girlicious, Steroes and more! It was an awesome night.

Russell Brand and soon to be wife, Katy Perry, are always one’s for breaking tradition. For example, Perry joking about having a clothing-optional wedding. And now, according to PEOPLE, the couple is breaking tradition once again.
This time, Brand and Perry are not drawing up a wedding registry.
“Given that Katy and I both have good jobs, we don’t want any presents,” Brand said at last week’s premiere for his latest film, Get Him to the Greek. “It would be a massive indulgence.”
But just because the couple does not want presents, doesn’t mean they couldn’t use them. And the co-stars of Greek have suggestions for just that.
“I say you got to invest in the good sheets and towels,” Elisabeth Moss said. “It’s your only chance to get the really good, top-notch sheets and duvet covers. Those are things you don’t buy for yourself.”
Others suggested kitchen essentials like a waffle maker and an espresso machine.
Kali Hawk, Brand’s co-star, had some other ideas for gifts.
“[I’d say] diamond, platinum, titanium-encrusted flat irons. And skinny jeans,” she said. “Someone’s got to flatten and curl their hair and keep the pants nice and skinny.”
But in all seriousness, Moss believes that the only gift the couple needs for their new life together is good communication.
“They seem to have a pretty honest communication. I don’t doubt it,” Moss said. “They’re great.”
Katy Perry has performed at many award shows in the past. She has rocked the MTV awards show and the VMA’s, with a mind-boggling version of Queen’s “We Will Rock You.” Then, Perry got engaged to VMA host Russell Brand.
And According to MTV News, Perry is not stopping there. She is set to perform at the 2010 MTV Movie Awards on June 6. Perry will play the first single, “California Gurls,” off of her new upcoming album, Teenage Dream.
“I’m proud to represent the West Coast at the MTV Movie Awards in the magical glow of the Hollywood sign with my new single ‘California Gurls,’” Perry said. “I hope it will be the theme song to a lot of summer loving; I know it will in my house!”
Perry is also joining previously announced performer Christina Aguilera at the show next month.
The award show airs live on Sunday, June 6, at 9 p.m. ET and is hosted by Aziz Ansari. Fans can vote for their favourite films and actors at MovieAwards.MTV.com. “The Hangover” is leading the way with six nominations, followed by “New Moon” and “Avatar” both with five.

Here’s the sitch. Alternative pop duo Beach House released an album called “Teen Dream” in November, 2009. And it’s just been found out that pop singer Katy Perry is set to release a new album this August. What’s it called, you ask? “Teenage Dream.”
Granted Beach House does not technically own the name “Teen Dream,” but come on. This is a little much.
Yesterday (May 10) Beach House Tweeted (@BeachHouse2010): “Can’t believe this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Teenage_Dream, and not in a good way, guess we have to write a song called ‘i kiss a girl,’” referring to Perry’s scandal-smash song “I Kissed A Girl.”

We’re not telling you whose side to be on, but we will say that Beach House’s “Teen Dream” was absolute musical magic and that they are awesome. But no really, it’s up to you.
Planning a wedding is never easy. And planning a wedding with Katy Perry and Russell Brand couldn’t be harder.
But Perry already has a few ideas for the couple’s perfect day.
And according to MTV News, Perry revealed that she intends to keep the wedding quite small. They couple is also planning to host “a big, fat reception for the people who can’t make it,” to the ceremony.
“I always have a ton of people around me, and I think the people that are going to share this moment with us are the people we want to integrate into each other’s lives,” Perry said.
Among the important details of the wedding, Perry is focused on who will design her wedding dress.
“We have been kind of talking to [John] Galliano, because that was the first [fashion] show in Paris that we kind of came out as a couple,” Perry said. “So if we did Galliano, it would make it full circle.”
Another important detail is the location of the wedding. The couple is now considering shaking things up, and not hosting the wedding in Perry’s hometown of Santa Barbara, California, as originally planned.
“We don’t necessarily want it to be a drunk fest of people just, you know, one night and then forgetting about it,” Perry said. “We want it to be about the love. So sometimes to be about the love, we have to take them out of their comfort zone.”
In our estimation, it’s generally the bride who stresses over all the little details in planning a wedding. However in the case of Katy Perry and Russell Brand, their wedding planning experience is playing out differently.
With Katy planning her new album due this summer, she apparently hasn’t had much time to focus on wedding plans, as reported by MTV News. Therefore Russell has taken over their wedding plans.
“He’s a total bridezilla. He’s like a freak, man,” she shared about her fiancés hands-on wedding planning. “You should see — he’s always, like, buying bride magazines. Every time we go out for breakfast he’s like, ‘Can we just stop and get a bride magazine?’ “
Yes it was a slimefest last night at Nickelodeon’s Kids’ Choice Awards, but in a kid friendly way. Plenty of stars were there for the show, including host Kevin James, Tina Fey, Steve Carell, and even Jonah Hill.
The show started with Rihanna arriving in a pink camouflage tank. The diva performed ‘Hard’, ‘Rude Boy’, and ‘Don’t Stop the Music,’ dancing with transformer type robots.
Kevin James hosting was admirable but nothing too spectacular. He tried his best to relate to his youthful crowd.
Snoop Dogg and Justin Bieber couldn’t be more different, but apparently Snoop Dogg approves of the young teen sensation. Snoop even thinks that he is “cool,” reports MTVnews.com. The pair doesn’t have much reason to like each other since they are going head-to-head on the Billboard charts. The 16-year-old pop sensation’s album “My World 2.0” dropped this week while Snoop’s album “More Malice” is expected to have success as well.
The 38-year-old rapper feels he can relate to Bieber since he was a teenage in the music industry once too, and wishes him only the best.
“I wish him luck and success, hopefully his record will do what it’s supposed to,” said Snoop.
It looks like it’s official, Katy Perry and Russell Brand are engaged. While the two entertainers were traveling in India, Russell popped the question on New Year’s Eve in a tent at the foot of a mountain. And yes she did say “YES”! E! News has confirmed this with Katy’s people. The two started hanging out after the MTV Video Music Awards last September, and it looks like it’s true love.
