You can hardly recognize some of these musicians back when they were teens. It shows the dramatic transformation some celebs go through (ahem Marilyn Manson, Madonna), although others look virtually the same, like Katy Perry above.
The photos remind me of the Skrillex evolution we saw last week. I don’t think my high school pictures are so unrecognizable but I will say I rocked a pretty intense side bang.

If you’re having troubles getting over the midweek hump, this should help. Upon watching this video of Dergin Tokmak overcoming his disability in an unprecedented display of awesome, your Wednesday slump will be conquered easily.
Unfortunately, most of the information on this guy is in German or Austrian. Thus, what we’ve managed to piece together is this: Derign is a dancer, acrobat and Cirque De Sole alumni. He was diagnosed with Polio but made the disease his b*tch, and the result is what you’re watching right now.
The video, cleverly tagged “crutchstep”, is mind-blowing. I didn’t think it was possible to look cool dancing to dubstep but I’m glad to be proven wrong by something this incredible.
Watch below as Mr. Tokmak (that is how I will be referring to him from now on), puts on an unbelievable display of choreographed acrobatics to a dubstep remix of Avicii’s song Levels and Katy Perry’s E.T.

Now that Katy’s got her personal life back on track, she’s about to have an even busier professional life with the release of her upcoming “Teenage Dream” deluxe edition album.
MTV writes ”Teenage Dream: The Complete Confection” will package a ton of remixes and three new bonus tracks.
Prior to its February 21 release date, Katy’s releasing “Part of Me” as her new single. We’ll be hearing a lot of it on the radio in the next few days. Here’s a sneak peek of the uplifting pop song:

We’re all used to reading about nasty, pricey divorces in Hollywood. Russell Brand and Katy Perry are keeping things clean this time around.
TMZ reports because the two didn’t sign a pre-nup when they wed in 2010, Russell’s entitled to at least $20 million of the California girl’s money.
So, the provocative comedian could have score a fortune if he exercises his community property rights. But alas, he’s taking the higher road and leaving Katy and her millions alone.
“This divorce is as amicable as it gets, and Russell was a mensch,” his lawyer says. (That’s Yiddish for a good person.)
Natalia dishes the latest news on the Juno Awards nominees, the upcoming Spiderman 3D film starring Emma Stone and Andrew Garfield and is Katy Perry hooking up with Tim Tebow? Watch today’s episode to find out.
She’s single and ready to mingle.
Katy Perry made quite the advance on quarterback Tim Tebow during her DirectTV performance at the Super Bowl.
E! Online reports she dedicated her racy song “Peacock” to the Christian football player. Katy, a former Christian singer, gave Tim another shout out while presenting an award at Saturday’s NFL Honors ceremony.
“Hey Tim, my parents say hi,” she said. Like the Tebows, the Perry’s are also ministers in their hometown.
Since her divorce from Russell Brand, rumours have been swirling that Katy’s parents are dying to set her up with the Denver quarterback. You have to admit, Tim’s a step up from the trashy Russell. Anybody is a step up from Russell, actually.

Katy Perry knows very well how to make a comeback appearance.
The newly single star of the new ad for GHD hair products. In the ad shot by famed photographer David LaChapelle, Katy’s transformed into a beautiful mermaid.
“David LaChapelle made the set amazing. It was fun – I got to have purple hair which foreshadowed the real purple hair I had last fall. It’s as if Lisa Frank had done The Little Mermaid,” Katy said in a statement found on Coco Perez.
Last year she morphed into another Disney character, Snow White, in a previous GHD ad. It seems she really fancies the cartoon princesses. You can check out more photos of Katy and her cotton candy hair here.

This song couldn’t have come at a better time, as Katy’s getting a divorce from husband of 14 months, Russell Brand.
“The One That Got Away” was her sixth number one single off her album “Teenage Dream”. The acoustic song, which just sounds like a love letter to Russell Brand now, sounds pretty with a prominent acoustic guitar and just a sprinkle of piano. Katy’s voice sounds so sharp; this is her finest piece to date.
You can download the track on iTunes but feel free to listen to it below first.

Katy Perry must follow Selena Gomez on Twitter and got inspired by her new blue do.
A fan who got a chance to meet the newly single singer while filming an Adidas commercial tweeted a photo of Katy’s new hue.
According to US Magazine, this is apparently the first shot of Katy since her announced seperation from Russell Brand. The fan, Eric Berlanger says Katy seemed to be in good spirits.
“It was great to see her. I met her a couple times before. I am a big fan! She was great, really nice. She seemed happy,” he tells the magazine.
It’s nice to see Katy after such a sad way to end 2011. She skipped out on Monday’s People’s Choice Awards but surely we’ll probably see more of Katy when the heartache is over.

Last night, Jimmy Fallon reprised his spot-on impersonation of Russell Brand as he read the latest US Weekly magazine with a headline: “Katy Perry: Married To A Mad Man!”
Fallon has tested these waters before, remember that impersonation-spree when he hosted SNL in December?
“I’m actor, comedian, and noted lothario Russell Brand, and here in my possession is the newest of the newest Us Weekly!” says Fallon, impersonating the Forgetting Sarah Marshall star. “And what do I see on the cover? But it’s me! A picture of me and Katy Perry. And what does it say? Married to a crazy man! Really? I’m a crazy man?”
A new leaked track by Katy Perry has hit the Internet, and Perry sings about falling for the wrong guy.
Katy co-wrote the song, and the track is a demo version of Jessie James track “Bullett.”
Some of the lyrics include, “My mama warned me about boys like you/ It’s the reason I wear these high-heeled boots/ And let me give you a little piece of advice/ My papa packs heat and he won’t think twice.”
On the sing-along refrain, Perry belts out, “I’m a bullet and I’m headed/ Straight for your heart/ Be careful what you start/ I’m a bullet and I’m headed/ Straight for your heart/ It’s gonna leave a mark.”
Although the song is a couple of years old, it has been coincidentally leaked right after Perry and Brand announced their separation.
Coincidence?
Russell Brand and Katy Perry are getting divorced. Brand filed for divorce in Los Angeles, citing “irreconcilable differences,” according to TMZ.
As we reported earlier today, rumors have been swirling about the state of their marriage. However, sources were saying that although the couple were having problems, they were trying to work things out.
“Sadly, Katy and I are ending our marriage. I’ll always adore her and I know we’ll remain friends,” the 36-year-old Brit comedian told the Associated Press.
Rumors of their relationship troubles surfaced during the holidays when the couple were seen without their wedding rings.
Brand, who is starring in the upcoming Rock of Ages and Diablo Cody’s directorial debut and 27-year-old Perry wed October 2011 in India.
Russell Brand and Katy Perry are denying that divorce is in their future, however sources close to the couple confirm they are having some marriage problems.
TMZ reports a source says there was no big blowout argument, which was reported earlier.
One of our sources says it’s clear Katy and Russell are “dealing with something,” but divorce is not in the cards.
There are some new signs that Russell Brand and Katy Perry could be having some marriage problems. Rumors have been circulating for a while that the couple were separating.
Russell Brand was spotted in London not wearing his wedding ring. At the same time, Katy Perry has been spotted having a good time in Hawaii. Additionally, the couple didn’t even spend the holidays together.
To us, that’s pretty solid evidence that the two are having some serious problems, and things might be over. What do you think?
2011, like any other year, was full of sex, drugs, violence and even some dancing monkeys. Music videos from such artists like Bruno Mars and Britney Spears have kept us entertained from January until December. Here at andPOP, we can’t wrap up a fantastic year without discussing our top ten music videos.
10. Dr. Dre and Eminem – “I Need a Doctor”
Dr. Dre’s first official single in over a decade and we love how the video walks us through the rapper’s life.

The snarky but equally funny British comedian, Russel Brand, a.k.a. Mr. Katy Perry, is set to host his own late night show on FX.
Gossip Cop writes Russell inked a 6-episode deal with the channel to launch his late night show in the spring.
The untitled show will feature Russell’s take on pop culture, politics and current affairs. The always opinionated funnyman expresses his excitement in a statement, saying, “I am so excited I’m on the point of climax, in fact I will put the ‘O’ into FX, which spells Fox, which is actually the channel’s real name.”
It will be really refreshing to hear Russell’s take on things as he’s essentially the newest face on late night television. He’s always known for speaking his mind and I’d love to finally listen to his thoughts on celebrity gossip, instead of just reading his tweets.
As Jimmy Fallon relies on The Roots as a backing band, could Russell hire on his wife Katy to be his musical sidekick? These two don’t often appear on t.v. togetehr, so if this happens, it’s definitely a sight worth seeing.
Last night’s Saturday Night Live previewed a clip from the upcoming film from the makers of ‘Valentine’s Day’ and ‘New Year’s Eve’… it’s ‘Apocalypse’.
It stars “literally thousands” of your favourite celebrities, from Drew Barymore (Kristin Wiig) to Penny Marshall (Fred Armisen) to Christina Aguilera (Katy Perry) – even “that kid from Modern Family” (Bobby Moynihan). “It’s love… at last sight” in this hilarious parody of over-indulgent saga of date movies. It was one of the highlights of last night’s Katy Perry-hosted show.
Though didn’t Funny or Die do this earlier in the week with ‘Christmas Day’?

Last night, Katy Perry fulfilled her teenage dream by hosting Saturday Night Live with her touring buddy Robyn as musical guest.
She’s been on a stampede of success over the past few weeks – named one of Barbara Walters’ Most Fascinating People of the Year, shot down a few more divorce and pregnancy rumours, won a few American Music Awards, sported a new haircut and oh, nominated for a handful of Grammy awards. Then the singer-turned-host dawned the seemingly haunting deed of hosting Saturday Night Live. At first, she seemed insanely nervous during her opening monologue as she impersonated the Rockefeller Christmas tree, but her sexual tension with Kristen Wiig brought it back around.
Earlier this week, Perry took a break from rehearsals to talk about the experience. “It’s fun on the outside, and on the inside it’s a lot more hard work than I can ever imagine. So it’s nerve wracking but I always love a challenge and this is something new, so it’s challenging but I’m up for it. And if I completely embarrass myself, I’ll just stick to music. I’ll fall back on that.”
And that’s exactly what happened. Perry appeared through at least nine sketches where she parodied Christina Aguilera, recent musical guest Florence Welch, Pippa Middleton and herself on a Finnish talk show. Her renditions of the above-mentioned music stars were flawless. But, be sure to check out her digital short with Andy Samberg, Matt Damon and Val Kilmer.
SNL-alum and Late Night star Jimmy Fallon hosts next weekend with musical guest, Michael Buble.

Adele continues to roll in the praise by making Billboard history as the first female singer to top the artist, album and singles list in the same year.
The 23-year-old Brit beat out Rihanna, Katy Perry and Lady Gaga in the American magazine’s prestigious Best Artist and No.1 Billboard 200 Album (with ’21′). She fought off the likes of LMFAO’s Party Rock Anthem and Katy Perry’s Firework to become top single with ‘Rolling in the Deep’. Although, it’s really a no-brainer.
Tye Corner, editor over at Billboard.com, said that “her success is really inspiring because it shows that there is still room in the music industry for an artist to make it with true, raw talent.
“It’s not necessarily always about the outrageous outfits or flashy videos, but an amazing voice coupled with the right song still has the ability to turn the ears of millions of people and keep them interested.”
It’s been quite the week for her already as she was nominated for six Grammy awards and tweeted to assure her fans that she made it through her vocal-surgery.
Also Rolling Stone, the granddaddy of all music magazines, named ’21′ the Best Album of the Year and her soulful breakup scorcher made the Best Single of the Year also. It’s nice to see an honest and refreshing ballad recognized amongst the Gaga’s and the Perry’s of female pop.
Her smug graces the cover of Billboard’s latest issue and it includes an interview with the soulful singer. She answers the question that everybody wants to know, what she feels about finding love again:
“Not having someone to share all this with made me miserable at times, to be honest. I wanted nothing more than to be in love and be loved back. That was until I remembered I was sharing it with millions and millions and millions of people! I haven’t been ready to be in love again since summer 2009 … until now. And I hadn’t met anyone along the way who’s changed that.”
She also shared some details on her next album:
“I’m really looking forward to some time to do nothing. I imagine I’ll be 25 or 26 by the time my next record comes out, as I haven’t even thought about my third record yet. I’m just gonna lay some concrete, set up home and just ‘be’ for a bit. I’ll disappear and come back with a record when it’s good enough. There will be no new music until it’s good enough and until I’m ready.”
