The Hunger Games movie was a major box office success, but will the sequel be as equally successul? ”Catching Fire” Features the 22-year-old series star Jennifer Lawrence and 20-year-old Josh Hutcherson as Katniss and Peeta, with the addition of Sam Claflin as Finnick Odair (You can check out the full cast list here!).
Today, Entertainment Weekly released the cover for this weeks print edition. The first image features Jennifer Lawrence and Sam Claflin in their battle attire (see above image). And the second photograph features the two getting up-close and personal! (image below)

The sequel “Catching Fire” is wrapping up production in Waikiki, Hawaii, and will hit theatres on Nov. 1st, 2013!
If BadLipReading directed The Hunger Games it would have been a very different movie. The plot would have focused on fudge puddles, buying purses and someone named Cod Fish Joe. The script would have been complete gibberish and characters would randomly make goat sounds.
Bad Lip Reading dubbed over clips of the movie and taglined their brand new dramatic film as “Katniss likes her purse, but everyone thinks she doesn’t.” It sounds like a good drama to me.
In the past, they’ve dubbed over scenes from Twilight, and that horrendous music video for “Hot Girl Problems.” What would you like to see them dub over?

Sometimes movie trailers are way better than the actual movies themselves. Based on carefully selected clips, music and strategic spinning the plot, a plotless flick can come off looking inspired.
That’s why Screen Junkies created Honest Trailers. Their newest video is for The Hunger Games, which is funny because I actually enjoyed both the movie and trailer. Still, when the narrator plainly states the plot and facts, you realize how silly it can come off.
Jena Malone will reportedly play District 7′s Johanna Mason in The Hunger Games‘ sequel, Catching Fire. Although there were reports that Mia Wasikowska and Zoe Aggeliki were contenders, according to The Hollywood Reporter, Malone was offered the part and is in the early stages of negotiations.
*SPOILERS: Mason is one of the key players in Catching Fire and the third instalment Mockingjay, as she aligns herself with Peeta and Katniss. She’s the last surviving female Hunger Games winner from District 7 and one of the youngest overall.
The role is one of the most difficult because Johanna has a strong sexuality and a lot of one-liners that are half witty and half snarky. She also introduces herself to the slightly prude Katniss completely NUDE. I hadn’t really thought of Malone for the part but she actually seems like a good fit.
Meanwhile, we’re still eagerly awaiting a final decision on Finnick Odair, a Capitol playboy and charmer. DROOL.

Considering The Hunger Games’ Katniss Everdeen has wicked archery skills, Spain’s El Hormiguero naturally decided to test her on the spot by attaching panes of glass to several volunteers and having her shoot them with arrows. The dummies zigzagged across the stage for an added challenge.
I think Lawrence ultimately hit more targets than the host but her arrows don’t stick for some reason, plus she gets added points for doing it all in a Victoria Beckham dress and black heels.
In the meantime, her kickass skills should get everyone excited for Catching Fire!

Get your mind out of the gutter! Naturally, “Peeniss” is a celebrity supername for The Hunger Games’ Peeta and Katniss, much like Brangelina.
On last night’s episode of Conan O’Brien, Josh Hutcherson, who plays Peeta, shared the creepiest declarations of insanity signs he’s seen since starting the tour. While the signs started off innocently enough, they soon developed a sexual tinge like “I’m a Peeta-file.”
Then they started to have no connection to the movie whatsoever. For example, two girls artfully cut circles in a board, stuck their heads through it and wrote the question: “Wanna have a threesome?” That’s not subtle at all. And for the record, it didn’t work ladies!

Sloth-loving Kristen Bell revealed another one of her obsessions to Jimmy Kimmel: The Hunger Games. For Bell, it’s the prize-winning piece of literature that will define our century. No really, she said “this is the piece of literature that in a hundred years we’ll look back on and it will be the best thing we’ve ever written.” Bell even had a Hunger Games-themed birthday party about a month ago and dressed up as Katniss.
Although she tried to convince her lit-snob husband Dax Shepard to read it, he wasn’t interested, especially after the couple ran into a 12-year-old Hunger Games superfan at the airport and he realized it’s a teen book. Still, Shepard allowed his wife to read him the book in a span of three weeks and she even did the voices for him. And of course (drumroll) he loved it.
No joke, when I was younger and before I realized how it reinforced poor gender roles, Dream Phone was my all-time favourite board game. I would go to my friend Monika’s house and we would play this classic, along with “Don’t Wake Daddy” and “Baby-Sitters Club.” Now whenever I see the game I have a sudden urge to play it, for old time’s sake.
CollegeHumor’s parody of Dream Phone is tailored for a hypothetical Hunger Games edition. Slaughter your opponents, survive at all costs and find out who has a crush on you!! And even more romantic, once you find your secret admirer you can guess how he’s plotting to kill you.
The fake ad uses every cheesy 90s stereotype I can think of. From the horribly excited expressions on the all-American girl’s faces to the distasteful amount of pink in her bedroom.
Best of all, it allows us to face our biggest fears: dating and death.

Jennifer Lawrence wore a Prabal Gurung dress to the Hunger Games premiere in Los Angeles on Monday. The metallic dress fits the first book to a tee! When Katniss goes to the Capitol to prepare for the games, she’s often styled in impressive outfits that literally look like they’re on fire. This one has that right amount of spark.
What do you think of the look?
