Rant ‘N Rave: Kate Winslet and Leonardo DiCaprio

The self-proclaimed “king of the world” and his movie star love are back.

Yes, the world’s hottest on-screen couple are once again making girls squeal and boys shamelessly admit that they understand what all the fuss is about.

Kate Winslet and Leonardo DiCaprio. Their names just roll off your tongue like sweet candy. Kate is the woman that everyone dreams about—men and women—and Leo is the object of every man’s envy.

Some might say that Brangelina was once the hottest couple on screen—I beg to differ (although both Mr. and Mrs. Smith and Titanic differ offer equally steaming sex scenes. And, oh please, don’t make me describe either of them to you). READ MORE »

Winslet Teams Up With Mendes For Circus Film

Actress KATE WINSLET is teaming up with her Oscar-winning director husband SAM MENDES to work on a new movie.

Winslet, who has been married to the AMERICAN BEAUTY filmmaker for three years, has been interested in playing the role of 1920s circus tiger tamer MABEL STARK since 2003.

And now Mendes’ company, Neal Street Productions, has bought the rights to adapt a fictionalized life of Stark by author ROBERT HOUGH.

The couple’s spokeswoman SARA KEENE says, “It’s a great story, they’ve had their eye on it for a while. If they can get the script right, it would make a great film.”

However, the pair will be keen to avoid the same fate as other husband-and-wife projects, like GUY RITCHIE’s SWEPT AWAY starring MADONNA, and RACHEL WEISZ’s role in THE FOUNTAIN, directed by fiance DARREN ARONOFSKY – both of which were commercial failures.

Are Orlando and Kate Getting Hitched?

Orlando Bloom and Kate Bosworth have sparked engagement rumours after being spotted in a top London jeweller this weekend.

An onlooker told The Sun, a British tabloid, that “they were picking out engagement rings and she was trying them on. They popped into lots of flash jewellers on New Bond Street. But they were in Bulgari and Van Cleef & Arpels for the longest period.

“They had huge smiles on their faces and were kissing and cuddling.”

Bloom, 28, and Bosworth, 22, have dated on and off since January 2003, when they met while filming an advert for Gap clothing.

Bloom denied engagement rumours in September but has hinted that he will soon be ready for marriage.

Pete Doherty Busted for Drug Possession

British rocker Pete Doherty, Kate Moss?s former flame, has been arrested for drug possession.

The Babyshambles front man, who has been blamed for getting Moss hooked on cocaine, was busted Wednesday night in London after being pulled over by police for driving in an ?erratic manner.?

British news sources have reported that rock cocaine and a crack pipe were found in Doherty?s vehicle.

If convicted, he could face seven years in jail and a large fine.

This is not the first time Doherty has gotten in trouble with the law for drug possession. On Oct. 1, police raided a Babyshambles gig in Shrewsbury, England, where they found Ecstacy, LSD, cocaine and heroine. Doherty was incarcerated for 12 hours.

The singer recently split from Moss after he failed to complete a drug rehabilitation program at the Meadows Clinic in Arizona, where the supermodel finished a five-week stint earlier this year.

Moss, who still faces drug charges of her own, has been modelling steadily since leaving the clinic.

Kate Moss Upsets Rural Neighbours

Kate Moss has reportedly angered the residents of a village in the British countryside by deciding to move there.

Moss has recently lost lucrative modelling contracts with Chanel, Burberry and H&M in the wake of a drug scandal stemming from pictures published in a U.K. tabloid of her allegedly snorting cocaine.

In an attempt to reform her wild image, Moss and her three-year-old daughter, Lila Grace, will move back to their cottage in the Oxfordshire village of Church Farm next month.

Local residents have expressed displeasure over her imminent arrival.

“She got a drum kit for Christmas and kept us up banging it,” one 82-year-old resident has been quoted as saying.

“This is a quiet village. It’s not the place for people like her. She attracts trouble.”

Moss bought the cottage last October, and though she has only stayed there a few times, she and her friends have already upset neighbours by staging raucous parties.

Johnny Depp Defends Kate Moss

Johnny Depp is outraged at how ex-girlfriend Kate Moss has been vilified by the media after a British paper published photos of the supermodel allegedly snorting cocaine.

“The first thing that went through my mind was I was concerned for her, hoping that she was OK and that she and her baby were OK,” says Depp, 42, who dated Moss for four years until 1998.

“No. 2 was just being appalled and shocked at the kind of vicious attacks,” Depp said in an interview Friday with a British morning TV show.

“She’s super sharp, really smart and (has) got a great heart. She’s a good mum, and she just happens to be human, and the press wouldn’t allow that, and that’s unforgivable.”

Moss, 31, who recently left an American rehab clinic, has been reunited with her three-year-old daughter Lila Grace.

The British icon paid a heavy price for her drug controversy, losing several modelling contracts with high-end fashion companies such as Chanel and H&M. But she appears to be staging a comeback, landing a Vanity Fair cover shot and a new campaign for designer Roberto Cavalli.

Kate Hudson Fights Back Against Anorexia Stories

Kate Hudson has ordered lawyers to take action against several publications for printing photos and articles that falsely imply that she has anorexia.

Her attorneys say the pictures “suggested that she had an eating disorder that was so grave and serious that she was wasting away, to the extreme concern of her mother and family.”

Hudson is also said to be concerned about how the pictures will impact her career and reputation.

The National Enquirer, Heat Magazine and the Daily Mail have been cited as guilty parties by London law firm Schillings.

The case will go to trial in 2006 if not settled beforehand.
