I’ve got a question for you: how much are you willing to pay for the necklace that Lindsay Lohan stole? Personally, I’d say five cents, but I think even that might be too much.
According to TMZ, Kamofie and Co., the store Lohan stole a necklace from, is auctioning off the necklace for charity.
Lohan, who was reported to have stolen the $2,500 necklace back in January, is being charged with felony grand theft by the L.A. County District Attorney. According to TMZ, Lohan claims that the necklace was a loan, and a video has recently surfaced showing Lohan wearing the necklace around the store for at least 45 minutes, and even talking to the store owner, before leaving.
“We have decided to sell the diamond necklace through auction, and give the proceeds to charity,” said a representative from Kamofie and Co. “We invite the public to make suggestions as to the most appropriate charity to receive the benefit of the sale’s proceeds.”
Good luck raising more than $10! If Lindsay didn’t even have $2500 to spare on it, what makes them think anyone else will?
Now, I know your money is burning a hole in your pockets after hearing this, but unfortunately you’re going to have to keep it in your wallet for a little while longer! According to the rep, the auction won’t take place until after the case is resolved, “by plea bargain, or trial or some other means.” Until then, the L.A. County District Attorney is holding the necklace as evidence.
Do they really think that Lindsay’s necklace will be able to top Justin Bieber’s hair selling for $40,668? The sad thing is, it just might!
