In the world of celebrity news, there’s not shortage of hits and misses. This week, Rihanna dominates the Billboard music awards and Bieber gets booed.
HIT: Rihanna picks up numerous awards, puts Chris Brown in his place
Amidst the sad Twitter spiff between Rihanna and Chris Brown, she shows no sign of backing down as she swept up four awards for Top R&B Artist, Top R&B Song (“Diamonds”), Top R&B Album (Unapologetic), and Top Radio Songs Artist. If you haven’t heard, Chris Brown recently dumped Rihanna – who does he think he is – even after she TOOK HIM BACK following the domestic violence scandal. He stated: “I can’t be focused on wife-ing somebody that young” on Australia’s 2day radio show. She shot back on twitter saying: “Settling is not an option! Nothing less than 100% loyalty, honestly, and respect!! Love ain’t for kidz #butimsleeptho.” You said it, Riri. Plus he’s allegedly been hanging out with ex girlfriend Karreuche Tran again. Can somebody say downgrade??
MISS: Justin Bieber Booed at The Billboard Music Awards
After beating out the likes of Bruno Mars and Taylor Swift, Just Bieber went on to win the first ever Milestone Award. Unfortunately, the Biebs was shamelessly booed even before he opened his mouth to give a thank you speech. How rude! After a few awkward seconds of listening to the screaming fans’ yet somehow extremely loud boo’s, he starts his speech with “I’m 19 years old…I’m 19 years old…I think I’m doing a pretty good job.” Didn’t stop the booing though and he had to thank Jesus Christ for that to end. I really feel bad for the kid, I mean he tries so hard (granted, sometimes too hard), but I don’t think he deserves this. Watch the video here. Best part: Cee Lo Green awkwardly fanning himself in the background.
HIT: Eva Longoria Graduates
That’s right! After 3 years of studying, our 38 year-old favourite Desperate Housewives star has earned a Master’s Degree in Chicano from California State Northridge. Her thesis was entitled: “Success STEMS From Diversity: The Value of Latinas in STEM Careers” (STEM stands for science, technology, engineering, and math). She tweeted, “You’re never too old or too busy to continue your education!” How is she so perfect?

Selena Gomez is shedding her Disney Channel look in her latest music video for “Come And Get It.”
After releasing some teasers, the video is finally out and is completely different from Selena’s older stuff. The video shows off Selena’s sultry side as she’s seen dancing by fire, swimming in the ocean and in the arms of a hunky guy. Hopefully Justin doesn’t get too jealous now that the two are back together. The video is amazing and fits the Bollywood-inspired sound of the song album perfectly.
Victoria Abraham defines one up and coming artist each week so you can impress your friends with your musical brilliance. This week, she tackles Austin Mahonie, a teen pop sensation from Texas.
Austin’s story is one we’ve all heard a 100 times by now. He started out making videos on YouTube, they went viral with more than 90 million views (which is amazing!), a record company noticed, (in this case Chase/Universal Republic), and now the 17 year old aspiring pop superstar is working on his debut album. It’s easy to file Austin away with the other Bieber wannabes crooning about love with dance moves to spare. But unlike the others, Austin’s voice has a husky, mature smoothness which means it doesn’t feel like you’re listening to a child. To hear the magic for yourself, watch for his upcoming debut album drop.
Origins: San Antonio, Texas
Full name: Austin Mahone
Known for: Mr. Mahone is known for his velvety smooth voice
Used in a sentence: It doesn’t take long to see why Austin was signed out of the many YouTube hopefuls
File next to: Justin Bieber, Ryan Beatty, Connor Maynard
Download now: “Say You’re Just a Friend”
Five fun facts:
1. Austin is one of the opening acts on Taylor Swift’s “Red” tour. Yup that’s right, he is touring with the endlessly heartbroken Taylor Swift.
2. He has more than 2.5 million followers on Twitter. That’s more followers than Ryan Gosling.
Justin Bieber’s fame really does reach all corners of the world and so do his rabid fans. During his concert in Dubai over this weekend, a fan somehow evaded security and ran at a Bieber who was sitting pretty and playing his grand piano with arms wide open for what looked to be a hug. The star’s security quickly pounced on the fan as the Biebs managed to safely walk away. Unfortunately, the same can’t be said for his piano which was flipped over during the whole ordeal. Bieber and his band reportedly managed to finish the song as the assailant was escorted off the stage, according to The National. Professionalism, Bieber has got plenty of it.
Scott Bradlee & Postmodern Jukebox turn the clocks back, way back, to bring you a 1940′s inspired cover of Justin Bieber and Nicki Minaj’s “Beauty and the Beat.” While the lyrics are too contemporary for this kind of cover, the difference in lyrical and musical styles is kind of cool. The singer, Robyn Adele Anderson, also has a pretty kick ass voice, not to mention very pretty hair. It’s charming, sounds great and is incredible unique. Who knew Justin Bieber was timeless?
Things are going great for 20 year old Selena Gomez. Not only has she recently fangirled over meeting Brad Pitt and seem to be rekindling her romance with Justin Bieber, Selena also has the release of her new music video for “Come and Get It” to look forward to.
In this trailer, fans get a glimpse of what they can expect in the upcoming music video. Showing off her seductive side, Selena is seen belly dancing in fields as well as swimming. Fans will have to be patient to view the video in its entirety. According to her Twitter account though, it should be out soon!
While most people have been focusing on what appears to be a Jelena reunion, Selena has been focusing heavily on promoting her new single “Come and Get It.”
Her latest performance was at last night’s Radio Disney Music Awards (where she won Best Female Artist), and it was good. Not great, but not terrible. Her dancing is as good as always, and while she doesn’t have to strongest vocals, her live performances are definitely improving. Let’s just hope her rekindled romance doesn’t distract her from all the hard work she’s clearly been doing.
Check out her performance here:
The answer to “Are they back together, or not?!” can probably be answered in a new picture Justin Bieber shared on his Instagram page yesterday.
Featuring him without a shirt and being cuddled by his on/off girlfriend Selena Gomez, the picture was accompanied by a caption that said, ‘”You’ve been makin music for too long babe come cuddle” -her.’
Interestingly enough, the Biebs didn’t delete this photo like he initially did with the first picture he posted of the two together. But considering the intimate nature of the image, it’s safe to say these two are definitely BACK ON and want the world to know it!
Who knew a little monkey could cause so much ruckus!
After losing his pet, Mally, at the hands of German customs back in March, it seems Justin Bieber still won’t be seeing his 17-month-old capuchin monkey any time soon.
Although his team has gotten in contact with German authorities to resolve the drama and has allegedly shown interest in putting little Mally in a German zoo, customs aren’t letting up. On the bright side, the authorities have stressed in their statement that the monkey will NOT be euthanized (thank goodness!). Justin has until May 17 to show proper papers if he wants to regain ownership of Mally.
Seeing as the issue hasn’t been resolved, I feel this telethon-themed song late night host Jimmy Kimmel put out a few weeks ago with the help of Russell Brand and Gary Allen is fitting for the moment.

Justin Bieber added yet another tattoo to his left arm—a koi fish, to be exact. Fans spotted the koi fish on his forearm last week on his tour stop in Copenhagen, Denmark.
According to Crushable.com, koi carp are supposed to bring good luck. This is the Canadian pop star’s 13th tattoo. Among his many tattoos, the Biebs also has an owl, praying hands, a bird and a portrait of Jesus.
Do you think Bieber has gone overboard with his tattoos?
Oh, young love. How fragile and tender it is.
Justin Bieber tweeted a picture of himself and ex-girlfriend Selena Gomez on Sunday, which he promptly deleted afterwards but not quickly enough for Beliebers and Selenators to miss. The two pop stars sparked rumours of possibly rekindling their relationship late last week when they were spotted kissing in Oslo, Norway Thursday night.
Oh No They Didn’t compared the Bieber’s short-lived couple shot to a recent Gomez selfie comparing her spike-y manicured nails, suggesting their meeting is quite recent:
What do you think, Beliebers and Selenators? Should they get back together?
Remember Justin when he first broke out as an up-and-coming artist? His song “Baby” was just hitting the radio stations, and we just knew our lives have been changed for the better.
A lot has happened since then as we witnessed Justin growing up before our eyes. We saw him transform into the dashing young man he is today, taking note every time he changed his oh-so beautiful hair. Let’s take a journey and remember the different types of hair styles he’s gone through.
Justin Bieber gets holographic for will.i.am’s new video for “#thatPOWER.” The video, which dropped Friday morning, is a highly modern visual wonder. The Black Eyed Pea producer also seems to be taking some sartorial cues from the Biebs as he too rocks some drop crotch pants.
Will.i.am has recently been accused of plagiarizing “Let’s Go” featuring Chris Brown from his #willpower album.
Bruno Mars’ latest album Unorthodox Jukebox is proof that the singer can do any and all music genres. The fact that this man’s tunes often make Top 40 give me faith in the music industry, but his talents don’t end just there. After watching that Pandora skit on SNL, it’s no doubt that Mars has a knack for impersonations which include Michael Jackson and Justin Bieber.
He is also one of those artists who regularly cover other works for concerts and acoustic sessions. If you didn’t already know how ridiculously talented he is, you will after hearing him tackle the works of iconic artists such as Elton John, Tina Turner, Amy Winehouse, and Michael Jackson.

Yes, you read that correctly. While in the the Netherlands Friday night, the Biebs took a break from his tour to visit the Anne Frank House. After staying for over an hour, he left this heartfelt message in the guestbook:
“Truly inspiring to be able to come here. Anne was a great girl. Hopefully she would have been a belieber.”
The Anne Frank House then posted his message along with some other details about his visit on their Facebook page (as they have done with messages from other celebrities in the past) and it wasn’t long before people began criticizing the 19-year-old’s choice of words.
I do think it’s a little bizarre that the first thing he thought of when pondering the details Anne Frank’s life was whether or not she would be a fan of his music, but after all, he did build his career on the dedication of young fans, so the comment was probably just a way of personalizing his message. Maybe not the most appropriate way to do so, but let’s face it, we’re talking about Justin Bieber. “Appropriate” no longer applies.
And if she were living in the context of our times, I’m sure Anne would have at least loved “Beauty and a Beat.” Who doesn’t?
In what has become a smart marketing strategy, debit card company SpendSmart (formerly BillMyParents) is getting a wealthy teen like Justin Bieber to endorse them in a video series called “Real Talk” in which he offers financial advice for other teens.
“You know when I was a kid, we didn’t have a lot of money, so me and my family had to watch the money that we spent,” the Biebs says in the first episode. “I learned if you have $100 or $100 million — if you spend more than you have, you’re going to go broke.”
Bieber is contracted to SpendSmart for 14 months and is receiving a hefty amount of $3.75 million as an endorser.
But this deal hasn’t always been smooth sailing. Initial reports have stated that the debit card company is loaded with hidden fees and don’t help cardholders build credit.
As cool as it might be to have Bieber on board, I’m still feeling suspicious.
Let’s just a moment out of our day to fangirl the living daylight out of ourselves over JUSTIN BIEBER’S NEW MUSIC VIDEO FOR ALL AROUND THE WORLD!
After days of teasing his Beliebers, Justin finally tweeted the link to his new music video “All Around The World” featuring Ludacris. The video is basically a day in the life of Justin Bieber as he tours the world. We even get to see what it’s like inside Justin’s car when he leaves the hotel and his fans react when they see him in concert.
What I love about this is that you could tell the audio is probably from one of his many concerts as opposed to the studio recording. Even when it reaches Ludacris’ rap, it’s all unaltered sound. It’s really a video for his fans as he’s traveling all around the world just to perform for you. So anyone who’s bashing on Justin, please step to the right, because he’s clearly coming back to the top. Take a look!
P.S. Who else needs CPR after his little “Believe” whisper at the end? I think I do!
You’ve got to admit, Justin Bieber’s European leg of his Believe tour has been a bit crazy. I swear I can’t go a few days without hearing news about him. From getting booed at the O2 arena in London, to Selena’s “Well, that makes two of us” on Letterman when the late night host said that he made Justin cry— it’s actually been a crazy few months.
It’s not all that bad for Justin, however, since he has had a few good moments while in Europe. Here’s a graph detailing the high and lows of his tour so far. Keep in mind, there are a lot of stories that have come out from Justin that I couldn’t fit on the graph, like how he honoured the death of Briana, a fan who he’s met that passed away, and getting schools in Norway to rearrange their exam schedule. (I mean seriously, you have to be THAT awesome and important to get a few schools to change their exams schedule!). Take a look below:
When it comes to music, Justin Bieber doesn’t play around.
The Biebs picked just some of today’s best new artists to join him in the pages of his Teen Vogue issue. Making the cut are The Wanted, Carly Rae Jepsen, Tori Kelly, Big Sean and new comer, Madison Bear.
The Wanted’s Max George told the magazine, “When we toured with Justin, it was an eye-opener to see how wild it could be—to think that we could be that big too.”
“We learned a lot from him,” added the group’s youngest member Nathan Sykes. “He knows how to put on a good show.”

Justin Bieber is having a crazy time right now. March started with a wild and shirtless 19th birthday party in London which apparently turned out to be the worst birthday ever, he collapsed on stage, he hit a paparazzo, got dissed by his ex Selena, and then got his pet monkey confiscated! That last one sounds unreal, like when did J-Biebs get a monkey anyway?!
Hopefully the month of April will be a turning point for Justin and it’s already off to a good start with the release of his duel Teen Vogue covers for the magazine’s May issue. Judge which cover you like best.

But Justin isn’t the only celebrity who gets to celebrate scoring a magazine cover. April may have just started but the magazine industry is already busting out its May issues.

So check out who also landed themselves a cover and find out which celeb will rule the newsstand!
