On Sunday, Justin Bieber was seen sporting a “Kelly Kapowski” Saved By the Bell T-shirt as he attended the MuchMusic Video Awards in Toronto to receive his two awards as well as support girlfriend Selena Gomez, who hosted the night’s festivities.
In response, Tiffani-Amber Thiessen, the actress who played Kapowski on the Sam Bobrick-created show back in the late 1980′s to early 90′s, wore a Justin Bieber T-shirt as she arrived at the Horrible Bosses premier on Thursday. Way to reciprocate the love!
I have no idea how it came about with him, but I’m just trying to show the love back, that’s all,” Thiessen told Vulture magazine in an interview. When asked what she thinks of the Biebs, the 37-year-old said, “Of course I am. He’s adorable.”
So how did she get her hands on a Bieber shirt, you may ask? “Actually, I had my show, White Collar,” Thiessen explained. ”They got it in Times Square. They’re all over the place. I have, like, 9 million of them in my apartment right now. So if anybody wants Justin Bieber T-shirts, I’ve got them.
“yo @thatrygood @scooterbraun @kennyhamilton check out KELLY KAPOWSKI!! #SWAG,” Bieber tweeted on Friday.
We thinks it’s so cute how supportive these two are of each other – even though the actress admitted that she hasn’t seen Bieber’s documentary, Justin Bieber: Never Say Never. Who knows, maybe Thiessen will be one of the thousands of girls swarming Macy’s this weekend to pick up their own bottle of Bieber’s new fragrance, “Someday.” After all, when Vulture told her that Bieber will be in town promoting his fragrance, she said, “That’s what I hear.I may swing on by and say hi.” Don’t forget your Bieber shirt, Tiffany – maybe you can even get him to sign it!
Gossip Cop has announced that Justin Bieber and Mark Wahlberg will be working together on an upcoming Paramount Pictures street basketball movie, which is said to be “a gritty basketball-based drama with a “The Color of Money meets The Karate Kid” tone.”
Apparently, Bieber impressed Wahlberg with his b-ball skills at the celebrity game during NBA All-Star Weekend, where Bieber was named MVP. The film, which is of yet sill untitled, will be produced by Wahlberg, Stephen Levinson, and Scooter Braun, Bieber’s manager, and the script will be written by Ian Edelmen, according to Deadline.
This definitely sounds like it has a lot of potential to be a great film! Keeping in mind that Bieber’s documentary Justin Bieber: Never Say Never grossed $97 million worldwide, while Wahlberg’s Oscar-winning The Fighter which has been praised far and wide.
Rewind a number of years to when Wahlberg first made his transition from his funky bunch to serious actor, starring in a few projects including The Basketball Diaries, where he co-starred with Leonardo DiCaprio. Think that this basketball movie can do the same for Bieber’s career? It’s hard to say, but it will definitely be interesting to see where Bieber’s acting career can go! No doubt that his ever-reliable Belieber minions will fill theatres everywhere just to catch a glimpse of the Biebs on the big screen, but what would be interesting is who else joins them.
The film is expected to be officially announced shortly, but for now you can check out Bieber’s MVP-worthy hoop skills below.
Do you think a basketball movie will be able to launch Bieber’s acting career as it did Wahlberg?
