Joe Jonas was asked about his New Year’s resolution. His response should excite Jonas Brothers fan everywhere.

“I hope to continue what I’ve been doing — making great music that I’m proud of,” he said. “And be able to make more music with my brothers.”

It will be amazing to have all the brothers back in the studio together after they have spent some time on their individual projects. Joe has been working on his solo music career, Nick is beginning his stint on Broadway, and Kevin has been writing and directing his own short film.

The three brothers have been busy doing their own thing this year; Joe Jonas released a solo album, Nick’s been acting on Broadway Kevin is just living the married life.

While chatting with MTV, Nick Jonas mentioned a Jonas Brothers comeback is in the works.

“We have started thinking about the next step and what that means for the brothers, and the tone overall is just that we want it to be the right time,” Nick says. The trio plans on taking a lot of time with their next album. Rushing into it is not an option for the young musicians.

Nick also tells his fans that although they’re all pursuing their own dreams right now, the band is not breaking up any time soon.

“”I don’t know necessarily when that will be, but it will happen, and when it does, we’re gonna be really excited, and hopefully our fans and others will be excited as well,” he says.

It’s been more than 2 years since the band of brothers released “Lines, Vines and Trying Times”. I have a feeling getting back together for a follow up won’t be such a trying time – unless they really do want to disappoint 50 million teenage girls.

Nick Jonas will be taking his talents to Broadway. The singer will be starring in How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying starting January 24. He will be filling in for Daniel Radcliffe.

EW reports Nick is no stranger to musical theater.  He made his Broadway debut in 2001 in the musical revival Annie Get Your Gun, then played Chip in Disney’s Beauty and the Beast in 2002, and then young Gavroche in Les Misérables in 2003.

It seems like the Jonas Brothers continue to be on hiatus as the brothers pursue solo projects.

Nick Jonas will be launching a children’s singing competition, reports MTV News.

The ‘Jonas Brothers’ musician/singer will be launching a nationwide singing competition for children on June 8, which will aim to find “America’s next pint-sized superstar.”

The 18-year-old will be teaming up with Quaker Chewy Granola Bars for the ‘Quaker Chewy Superstar Contest.’

Here’s how the competition is set up. Only children from ages 8 to 14 can upload their singing performances onto ChewySuperstar.com, where a panel of judges will evaluate performances and fans can vote for the top five contestants.

The winner of the competition will not only receive a contract with ‘Jonas Group Management,’ but will also receive a song produced by Nick himself, an online music video and a cash prize.

“Making music is my passion in life and the best way I know how to express myself,” Jonas said in a statement. “I wanted to be part of the Quaker Chewy Superstar Search to help other young musicians make music and follow their dreams.”

Well, isn’t this a cute little business deal. It’s nice of him to use his fame to make some other child’s dreams come true. Let’s just hope the winner chosen actually has talent, because ‘cute factor’ can only get them so far in life.

When he’s not busy stealing the hearts of millions of girls around the world with his angelic voice, what does Nick Jonas do, one might ask? Well here’s one answer!

MTV reports that Nick Jonas, one third of the all-brother group, the Jonas Brothers, has composed the music for the new expansion world, “Wintertusk,” of the online game “Wizard101.”

“It’s been a really interesting journey composing some music for ‘Wintertusk’,” Jonas told MTV. “They came to me and said, ‘hey we’d love to have you be a part of this in some way,’ and as I was kind of getting into producing and song-writing, something I always wanted to do was score, so I said, ‘I’d love to be able to score this game for you and create some music specifically for the game and the vibe of the game.’”

Jonas explained that it’s different from anything else he’s ever done, but is looking forward to people hearing the music in the game. And I can guarantee that OJDers (Obsessive Jonas Disorder, for those who don’t know) all over are looking forward to it just as much, since this will be the first dose of anything Jonas they will have gotten in quite a while!

“I think what really helped when composing the pieces for Wintertusk was having some of the musical theater background that I have, obviously epic in its sounds,” he continued. “Specifically with ‘Les Mis’ and some of the stuff I did with that it really helped me open my mind to a couple different things and the way that this music should sound for this game.”

But when it comes to being a gamer himself, Jonas says, “I get into it a bit. I spend more time in the studio more than anything. But my little brother [Frankie] is a big video game fan.”

Sounds like quite an exciting project! It will be very exciting to see how well Nick tackled this one – but then again, there isn’t much wrong this boy can do when it comes to music, since it seems he is incapable of failing at anything musically.

Don’t worry fans, they’re still not breaking up! Just because Kevin has gotten married and disappeared from the world, Nick has been working on his acting and producing songs, and Joe has been working on his solo album, it still doesn’t mean that the trio are separating! Of course not.

Where have these three brothers been, you may ask? Valid question. But it seems we have found one of them! Joe Jonas can be seen adorning this month’s issue of Details magazine. And might we say, he is looking mighty fine!

In the article, Jonas dishes about breaking out of the teen-idol shell and making a name for himself, sans Nick and Kevin.

“I’m growing up, the fans are growing up,” Joe told Details. “I’ve gone through a lot of stuff in my life so far. There are stories I haven’t really been able to tell. When you’re writing with three people, you wind up with a sound that might be—not average—but, you know, expected.”

The article, entitled “Joe Goes it Alone” (but remember, they’re NOT breaking up), goes on to express Joe’s feelings of going solo:

“We’re not breaking up, we’re just taking a break,” Joe says. “I really have a hope for the fans that got older and went, ‘You know what, I’m really not into the Jonas Brothers anymore,’ that I’m able to catch their ear again with my project and they’re able to go, like, ‘Hey, this is cool stuff, I’m happy listening to this, I’m not embarrassed listening to this.’”

According to Perez Hilton, Joe recently opened up about his upcoming album, and working with producer Danja:

“I think for me the biggest influences are Daft Punk. I love their music. There’s a guy, Frankmusik, out of London, a lot of electro DJs out in Europe are doing some cool stuff right now. I just listen to a bunch of stuff you dance to, kind of electro-based. A lot of stuff that’s so amazing [that] you can create on the computer. I think, for both of us, we are huge fans of the new ‘Tron‘ movie. To be able to go on a musical journey for a while and finally with finding Danja and working with him, we’ve been able to collaborate on something that really works for me. And to find me and not try to mold it into something it’s not, to try and be myself and my music and kind of tell stories and be honest and just have something … when people hear it, hopefully they’ll be able to dance to it and have a good time.”

Hmm…this sounds extremely different from the usual Jonas melodies, making me sceptical to believe it completely. But one thing’s for sure; I will be dancing when this album comes out!

“It’s Joe’s album, it’s not just something put together for him,” Danja told Details. “He’s collaborating with the writing. He’s very different from what you’d expect. All I can say is he’s an adult man. He has a rock-star edge about him.”

Will it be good, will it be bad; will it makes our ears bleed, or leave us singing our praises? So many questions, so little answers, especially keeping in mind that Hollywood Records promised this album in early 2011. Reality check, it’s already mid-March. So where is it?!

Despite her so-called irrational behaviour and rehab stay for “emotional and physical problems” which she is still working through, Demi Lovato nabbed the People’s Choice Award.

Last night at the People’s Choice Awards, the “Sonny with a Chance” babe was named Favorite TV Guest Star for her role on “Grey’s Anatomy” last year.

Additionally, Lovato, the Jonas Brothers, and the rest of the “Camp Rock 2” peeps earned the award of Favorite Family TV Movie.

Clearly the public can overlook Lovato’s mishaps and still see her as a promising teen idol. It is unfortunate that Lovato has to go through rehab but hopefully it will not taint her reputation, which obviously, it hasn’t.

Miley Cyrus and that salvia bong on the other hand…..oh boy.

According to sources all over the web, Demi Lovato has checked herself into rehab for undisclosed “emotional and physical issues.” Perezhilton.com reports from an insider source that Lovato is being treated for an eating disorder as well as self-abuse. Lovato also will not be finishing her tour with the Jonas Brothers.

Apparently Lovato was quite the party girl on her current tour. Lovato and her reps have blamed the bad habits and the rehab stint on the pressures of Hollywood and fame. It’s not difficult to believe that fame can do harmful things to a person especially when young and vulnerable like Lovato. We’ve seen so many cases of child stars going down the wrong path from Drew Barreymore to Lindsay Lohan.

It seems that many of the Disney starlets are troubled. You have Lindsay Lohan who got her start in Disney films and now she is in and out of rehab. Miley Cyrus isn’t in rehab, but she has tainted her pure image quite a bit in the last year. We can even take Britney Spears as an example as she got her start in the Mickey Mouse Club. What is the deal with Disney?

In any case, hopefully Lovato pulls through the rehab stint and can get back to Camp Rock. However, Disney may pull the plugs on this one, she’s no longer innocent.

U2 is at the top of Billboard’s musician money charts, reports CBC. The band earned $108.9 million in 2009.

The Irish rockers were also the top touring act of the year, selling 1.3 million tickets for the 20 shows on their 360 Degree world tour. The tour – still ongoing – is the most expensive one in history.

The 2009 earnings chart placed Bruce Springsteen in second with $57.6 million and Madonna, who earned $47 million, in third. Also on the list of last year’s top earners were AC/DC, Britney Spears, Pink, Jonas Brothers, Coldplay, Kenny Chesney and Metallica.

Joe Jonas has hinted that he may be breaking away from the Jonas Brothers to pursue some solo projects, reports Perez Hilton. He said he has been writing some new music, but did not reveal if it is for the band or another project.

He has said he’s interested in doing more movies. “I’m looking forward to doing more acting. I know everybody says this, but I want to be able to do everything. I won’t be satisfied until I’m ready to do every kind of role – from a villain to a comedian.”

Meanwhile, Joe’s bandmate and brother, Nick, has been enjoying success with his side project Nick Jonas and the Administration.

Sorry for any Jonas Brothers fans, but the eldest of the brothers is taken. Kevin Jonas is engaged to his girlfriend of almost two years, according to People.

On Wednesday, one third of the Jonas Brothers trio showed up to girlfriend Danielle Deleasa’s New Jersey home, got on one knee and asked her to marry him. “She said yes, yes, yes, like 500 times super fast in a row,” he told People.

The pair met in 2007 while their families were on a Bahamas vacation. At the time Deleasa, a former hairdresser, admits she didn’t even know who the Jonas Brothers were.

“It was tough performing last night, knowing that I was going to ask the biggest question in my life to the most amazing girl in the world,” Kevin said to the magazine. He arrived from an overnight flight to ask her to marry him.

Kevin’s parents released a statement sharing how thrilled they are with the news of their son’s engagement. “Our hearts are filled with joy today and we are happy to share with you that our son Kevin has asked Danielle for her hand in marriage.”

As of yet, a date has not been set for the marriage.

Concerns over the A(H1N1) flu, also known as the swine flu, have forced the Jonas Brothers to push back their concerts this week at Arena Monterrey in Mexico.

The pop trio’s shows are being postponed “due to health precautions in the whole country as a consequence of the outbreak of the A(H1N1) flu,” read a statement on the venue’s ticketing website.

The group was scheduled to play an afternoon and an evening concert on May 17. The shows have been rescheduled for July 31, and tickets will be honoured for their original times (3 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.).

“We know the situation is stabilizing and that many fans travel long distances to live the experience of seeing a Jonas Brothers concert,” read the statement. “That is why we hope that your experience and your enjoyment of the concert will be as pleasant as possible.”

Kevin, Joe and Nick are gearing up for a world tour, which will coincide with the release of their fourth studio album, “Lines, Vines and Trying Times,” on June 15. The Jo-Bros. will also co-host the MuchMusic Video Awards in Toronto on June 21.

The Jonas’s shows in Mexico aren’t the only ones that have been affected by the swine flu outbreak. As previously reported, flu concerns have also led to delays throughout Mexico for other concerts, as well as premieres for such movies as “X-Men Origins: Wolverine,” “Angels & Demons” and “Terminator: Salvation.”

Christina Applegate graces the cover of this year’s “People’s Most Beautiful” issue, but many teen idols are featured in the magazine as well.

“Twilight’s” Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart have both made People’s annual 100 Most Beautiful List. “I don’t get it. It’s funny, you look the same for years, and no one ever mentions it. Then suddenly it’s a big deal,” Pattinson tells People.

Other young stars such as “Gossip Girl’s” Taylor Momsen, brothers Nick and Joe Jonas and “17 Again” star Zac Efron have also made the list.

Efron revealed to People his secret to staying fit. “Backpacking, hiking, surfing, swimming, playing tennis — things that get you active and are also fun.”

And the list of teen stars doesn’t end there. “Camp Rock’s” Demi Lovato and fellow Disney star Selena Gomez have also made the list.

Taylor Swift (who also made it on People’s list) told the magazine it’s important to look natural. “It’s important to be comfortable with who you are and go natural once in a while”.

Back in the day, the word “Disney” brought thoughts of fairy godmothers, evil stepsisters and happily ever afters into our minds. The Disney stars that most of us looked up to were Cinderella, Pocahontas and, of course, Mickey Mouse (although now I’m not sure why).

But nowadays, all that has changed. When most children and teenagers hear the word “Disney,” they tend to think of the famous actors whose careers were launched on the television network, the Disney Channel. 

Due to shows like ‘Hannah Montana’ or the Disney Channel Original Movie ‘High School Musical,’ it is now virtually impossible to ignore any gossip associated with Disney’s princess Miley Cyrus or Brangelina wannabes Zac Efron and Vanessa Hudgens.

With plenty of shame, I will admit that even I watch some of these shows on a somewhat regular basis (I fully blame my boyfriend’s younger nieces for my sudden semi-addiction to shows like ‘Wizards of Waverly Place’ and ‘Sonny With a Chance’).

But while some Disney Channel stars have what it takes to establish a lifelong successful career outside of the Disney franchise, others, frankly, do not.  

And so, here is a short homage to certain Disney Channel actors who, for some reason or another, will stay here for some years to come:

The “Creepy” Disney Channel Star:

Kevin Jonas: As the eldest brother of the overrated Jonas Brothers music group, Kevin takes the cake for the creepiest member. I’m not quite sure if it’s his awkwardness on the television screen that freaks me out (remember his role in ‘Camp Rock’?) or the fact that he looks like he’s about to turn thirty instead of twenty-two. Either way, this Jonas bro, along with Joe and Nick, needs to stop polluting the music and television biz before I start having Kevin/Bogeyman-like nightmares.

The “Heartthrob” Disney Channel Star:

Zac Efron: When it comes to this ‘High School Musical’ actor, I can see why teenagers and yes, even adults, adore this young man. Sure the earwax situation was a bit…gross but Zac is still cute and charming, even if his ears are filthy.  When Q-Tips aren’t thrown in his face, Zac proves he can sing, dance and act in roles like ‘Hairspray,’ and ‘Summerland.’ On top of that, his gorgeous and talented co-star/girlfriend Vanessa Hudgens also proves that this young guy is worth having around.  

The “Triple Threat” Disney Channel Star:

Ashley Tisdale:  Actress, singer, songwriter Ashley Tisdale demonstrates she has what it takes to make it in the showbiz for years to come. From her role as Maddie on ‘The Suite Life of Zack & Cody’ to her performance as Sharpay in the High School Musical movie franchise, Ashley knows she will always stay in the spotlight. Her passion, personality and dedication to her work will make this star last years longer in Hollywood than most of the other actors on the Disney Channel network.

The “One to Steal the Spotlight” Disney Channel Star:

Brenda Song: If you ever watched an episode of ‘The Suite Life with Zack & Cody’ you should realize that show is watchable because of one character: London Tipton. Brenda plays the ditzy spoiled hotel heiress London (yup, an allusion to Paris Hilton) and, if I could say so myself, she does quite an excellent job doing so. Unfortunately, this 21-year-old has yet to truly make it big in Hollywood.  Blame it on the Jonas Brothers.

The “Underrated” Disney Channel Star:

Selena Gomez: From all of the actors who found fame on the Disney Channel, Selena, in my opinion, has the most natural acting ability. When you watch her as Alex Russo on ‘The Wizards of Waverly Place’ it’s hard to believe this young starlet is only sixteen. Currently, Selena is better known for her YouTube videos with best friend/other Disney Channel star Demi Lovato. After the two girls posted a clip back in 2008, Miley Cyrus and her friend Mandy uploaded a parody video of Selena and Demi—fuelling rumours the girls were feuding (however, according to their constant Twitter posts to one another, the girls actually seems like “the best of friends!”).

Either way, Selena has everything that Miley lacks. Maturity, self-control and, oh yeah, a good-girl image.

The “Overrated” Disney Channel Star:

Miley Cyrus: Just like with Kevin Jonas and the creepy thing, Miley Cyrus is her own competitor in this category. Even though I can see the allure in ‘Hannah Montana,’ it does not excuse the fact that Miley is a poor role model. By sixteen, Miley appeared in more provocative poses and eyebrow raising behaviour than plenty of other actors who are in their mid twenties. From a girl who apparently comes from a “wholesome family” she needs a bit more control. Miley is well on the path of becoming the next Britney Spears (the mentally unstable one). Just because Miley brings in the money, she’s still relatively a child and needs to be treated and act like one.

The Jonas Brothers are set to take fan-demonium to a whole new level at this summer’s MuchMusic Video Awards.

Organizers announced Thursday that the pop trio will co-host and perform at the June 21 event in Toronto, which goes live to air at 9 p.m. ET.

“We’re so excited to get back up to Canada, and co-hosting the MMVAs is a real honour for us,” eldest brother Kevin Jonas said in a statement.

The group previously came to Toronto last July for a one-hour Live@Much special, during which the streets around MuchMusic headquarters were shut down to accommodate more than 6,000 screaming fans.

The 2009 MMVAs will take place one day after the Jonas Brothers launches a world tour that includes several Canadian stops: Vancouver, Edmonton, Winnipeg, Toronto and Montreal.

The brothers have also confirmed that their fourth studio album, “Lines, Vines and Trying Times,” is slated for release on June 15.

Nominations for the MMVAs, which honours the year’s best in Canadian music videos, will be announced in May.
