Jimmy Fallon invents Tebowie – half Tim Tebow, half David Bowie

Posted by Natalia Buia on January 13th, 2012

The Broncos win over the Steels this past weekend can be attributed to Tim Tebow’s amazing pass. After that, Tim Tebow, a devout christian, began to trend on Twitter and many people began using his last name as a verb. “Tebowing” now refers to
one getting on their knee to pray. It’s like planking but more religious.

SNL made a skit about him on their latest episode and now Jimmy Fallon has come up with his own spoof: Tebowie, if Tim Tebow and David Bowie mated.

Jimmy Fallon dresses up in a tight Ziggy Stardust outfight, glitter platforms and all, but has Tim’s football jersey on, singing a humourous rendition of “A Space Oddity”.

“Tim Tebow to Jesus Christ,” he sings. “This is Jesus Christ to Tim Bebow. Please leave me alone. Don;t you know my day of rest is on Sunday and I’m sick of watching all these Bronco games.”

Jimmy Fallon’s known for his on-key impersonations. He does a killer Justin Bieber, Russell Brand and now, Tim Tebow. Check out the video below.

Jimmy Fallon Is Russell Brand… Again!

Posted by @coltondaniel on January 7th, 2012

Last night, Jimmy Fallon reprised his spot-on impersonation of Russell Brand as he read the latest US Weekly magazine with a headline: “Katy Perry: Married To A Mad Man!”

Fallon has tested these waters before, remember that impersonation-spree when he hosted SNL in December?

“I’m actor, comedian, and noted lothario Russell Brand, and here in my possession is the newest of the newest Us Weekly!” says Fallon, impersonating the Forgetting Sarah Marshall star. “And what do I see on the cover? But it’s me! A picture of me and Katy Perry. And what does it say? Married to a crazy man! Really? I’m a crazy man?”

SNL Last Night: Michael Buble and Jimmy Fallon Spoof Justin Bieber, Taylor Swift, Kanye West

Posted by @coltondaniel on December 18th, 2011

Last night’s Saturday Night Live was brilliantly hosted by alumni Jimmy Fallon and the musical guest was Michael Buble. There was a handful of holiday skits, but one of the standouts was definitely a hit.

In this hilarious promotional skit for ‘Michael Buble’s Christmas Duets’, the Canadian boy festives up with a pop-locking Justin Bieber, an overly humbled Taylor Swift, an auto-tuned Kanye West. Other spoofs by Jimmy Fallon and the SNL cast included Sting, Radiohead’s Thom Yorke, Russell Brand, American Idol’s Scotty McCreery and a barely recognizable Lady GaGa.

Buble is currently sitting comfortably on top of the American and Canadian Billboard charts and is reportedly on its way to being the second-highest selling album of this year. With 1.52 million copies sold in the States (after seven weeks) it is already the fourth biggest selling album of the year, according to Nielson SoundScan. It is expected to face some competition when it nears Adele’s “21″ that hit 5 million copies.

Katy Perry Hosts Saturday Night Live: A Christmas Sweater to Remember

Posted by @coltondaniel on December 11th, 2011

Last night, Katy Perry fulfilled her teenage dream by hosting Saturday Night Live with her touring buddy Robyn as musical guest.

She’s been on a stampede of success over the past few weeks – named one of Barbara Walters’ Most Fascinating People of the Year, shot down a few more divorce and pregnancy rumours, won a few American Music Awards, sported a new haircut and oh, nominated for a handful of Grammy awards. Then the singer-turned-host dawned the seemingly haunting deed of hosting Saturday Night Live. At first, she seemed insanely nervous during her opening monologue as she impersonated the Rockefeller Christmas tree, but her sexual tension with Kristen Wiig brought it back around.

Earlier this week, Perry took a break from rehearsals to talk about the experience. “It’s fun on the outside, and on the inside it’s a lot more hard work than I can ever imagine. So it’s nerve wracking but I always love a challenge and this is something new, so it’s challenging but I’m up for it. And if I completely embarrass myself, I’ll just stick to music. I’ll fall back on that.”

And that’s exactly what happened. Perry appeared through at least nine sketches where she parodied Christina Aguilera, recent musical guest Florence Welch, Pippa Middleton and herself on a Finnish talk show. Her renditions of the above-mentioned music stars were flawless. But, be sure to check out her digital short with Andy Samberg, Matt Damon and Val Kilmer.

SNL-alum and Late Night star Jimmy Fallon hosts next weekend with musical guest, Michael Buble.

Jimmy Fallon Spoofs Justin Bieber

Posted by Natalia Buia on November 3rd, 2011

Well played, Jimmy Fallon, well played!

Since news broke about Justin Bieber’s alleged baby mama drama, everyone’s been poking fun at him. Justin Bieber is still a baby more or less, so to think of him raising a baby is just obsurd.

On his late night talk show, Jimmy Fallon does a great spoof of Justin’s song Baby, calling his rendition (It’s Not My) Baby. Jimmy even got a Black Thought, member of The Roots to provide the Ludacris rap verse that’s featured in the original song. He changed the lyrics up, of course.

“She was my first lover, got her over that bathroom sink. I forgot to put a rubber, on my shrinky dink.” Genius!

Jimmy’s impressions of celebrities are always dead-on and I can see this spoof being the next YouTube hit. Watch the video below.

Jonah Hill Fighting Glee’s Matthew Morrison?

Posted by andPOP Staff on September 27th, 2011

Jonah Hill told Jimmy Fallon that he and Glee’s Matthew Morrison were at a FOX meeting promoting their shows, and Morrison was picking on Jonah.

“I’ve got it in my head that I don’t like this guy. I am sure he is a good human being, but you don’t throw a dude under the bus,” Hill said. “He’s a big timer at Fox and I’m the new kid.”

Morrison responded last night through a video on Jimmy Fallon. ”Oh hey, Jimmy, what’s up?” Morrison says to the camera after telling the joke. “I heard that Jonah said I should bring my sh– next time. Well, guess what? This is next time. You think I can’t sing my way out of this?”

Morrison begins dancing around the “Glee” set, with this message for Hill: “I can sing my way out of it and I can dance my way out of it. Pick a date and I will meet you on ‘Late Night’ and we will settle this like men.”

Jimmy Fallon Does ‘Punk’d’ Parody with Charlie Sheen

Posted by andPOP Staff on May 20th, 2011

Jimmy Fallon has figured out Charlie Sheen’s next career move after “Two and a Half Men.” If Ashton Kutcher is going to replace Charlie, then Charlie should have his own prank show, similar to “Punk’d.” Jimmy did a spoof of the show to demonstrate the merit behind the idea.

On this show, Charlie Sheen is doing the punking, although he is much more obvious and deliberate about it. And instead of getting “Punk’d,” you get “Sheen’d.”

See below for what the show would look like. We would watch it. And the show suits Charlie Sheen perfectly.

Could Jimmy Fallon Be Cancelled?

Posted by andPOP Staff on June 11th, 2010

Could Jimmy Fallon be the next Conan O’Brien? Rumors are circulating that the “Late Night” host could be next on the chopping block at NBC due to sagging ratings, according to the New York Post.

Nielsen ratings have indicated that viewership for Fallon’s late-night talk show has dropped 20 per cent since this time last year. Additionally Fallon is being killed by his competition at CBS and ABC.

“NBC executives are concerned about the ratings drop and are doing all they can to promote Fallon,” one insider told the Post. “They’re even dragging him out of bed in the morning to do the Today show to promote his own show.”

However NBC still maintain that they support Jimmy Fallon and are pleased with the show’s performance. A spokesperson for the network said, “We are huge Jimmy Fallon fans and could not be happier with his performance. Fallon continues to win night after night in the key demographic.”

Posted by Eva Lam on May 28th, 2008

Jimmy Fallon, heir to NBC’s “Late Night” throne, will have the chance to flex his hosting muscles at this summer’s Just For Laughs Festival in Toronto.

Fallon, who was recently confirmed as Conan O’Brien’s replacement on “Late Night” next year, is set to emcee at the comedy festival along with two faces familiar to TV audiences: “SCTV” and “Saturday Night Live” alumnus Martin Short and “Seinfeld” actor Jason Alexander.

It’s the second year that Toronto is hosting the event, which launched in Montreal.

The gala events, which Fallon, Short and Alexander will take turns hosting, take place at Massey Hall over several nights. Among those performing will be popular Canadian comedian Shaun Majumder and Craig Robinson, who plays Darryl Philbin in TV’s “The Office.”

The Toronto Just For Laughs festival runs from July 23 to 27. Its debut in the city last year attracted 60,000 people to outdoor events, with 20,000 buying tickets for the indoor shows.
