Granted, parenthood is complex.  Children need unconditional love, stability and guidance. 

When parents fail to provide any of those needs, you end up with the childhood version of Drew Barrymore.

Based on the number of celebs who have entered rehab in recent years, it’s obvious that more than a handful have some loose screws. While many blame a star’s inability to adjust to a lifestyle of fame and fortune for their problems, perhaps more responsibility should be placed on those who have raised them.

Before you leave me a 500-word thrashing on how I must not understand the difficulties of parenthood, realize that I am not claiming that any parent of a celebrity is a horrible person—just someone in vital need of re-evaluating their very questionable parenting skills.

After a cruel session of critisism from the media about some unflattering photos, and a recent breakup with boyfriend Tony Romo, Jessica Simpson is starting to recover. At her concert last Thursday US Weekly reports that Simpson felt “so lucky to be here,” revealing to fans that prayer had helped her maintain her confidence after facing worldwide ridicule for her apparent weight gain.

Earlier this month at a show in Michigan, Simpson forgot the lyrics to “Come on Over” and had what was described as a near meltdown on stage, almost in tears. Although she is doing a lot better than she was a month ago, Simpson still forgot the lyrics to the same song this past Thursday at her show in Salt Lake City. Apparently, she managed to laugh it off this time around.

Last week Jessica Simpson was accused of putting on a few by her fans and of course the media followed by one of her performances. Wednesday night Simpson played a show in Virginia and touched on the issue in a very classy manner. Without fully addressing the accusations made by the press she simply stated: “Please remember, no matter what you go through in life, somebody else might have it harder. So just appreciate. I feel like in our world today, we focus on so many things that are completely pointless.” Simpson says it all in that last line.

The focus of body image presented by the media is clearly in an unhealthy state if a hardly large Jessica Simpson is being put down for not looking stick thin. The Simpson family was reportedly appalled and disgusted by the comments that have been made. It is believed to have been blown way out of proportion and hardly worthy of a headline.

Celebedge.com is reporting that Jessica Simpson and her pro-ball beau, Tony Romo were in a huge blowout this weekend with Romo’s family.

Simpson allegedly read the results of a pregnancy test incorrectly and thought that she was pregnant.

In her excitement, she announced the news to Romo’s family who were, surprisingly, not happy about the news.

Romo’s mother is alleged to have said, “How can you do this to us?” in response to the announcement

Simpson was hurt by the family’s response and reportedly a heated argument began.

Rumours have been swirling that Simpson is desperate to conceive since her younger sister, Ashlee, announced that she is expecting her first child with husband Pete Wentz.

Pamela Anderson has declared Jessica Simpson a “bitch and whore.”

Anderson made her bold statements on an Australian radio station. Her anger comes after Simpson wore a shirt that read, “Real girls eat meat,” something that Anderson – a huge PETA supporter and vegetarian – couldn’t stand for.

Simpson’s shirt wasn’t intended to spark a feud with Anderson, but perhaps Carrie Underwood instead. Underwood used to date Simpson’s boyfriend, Tony Romo, and has frequently been on – and topped – PETA’s “Sexiest Vegetarian” lists.

Anderson, for her part, went on to tell the radio station why she was proud to be a vegetarian: “I think it’s healthy, good for your body and good for the environment.”

Rumour has it Tony Romo is done with Jessica Simpson.

The Chicago Sun-Times is claiming the Dallas Cowboy quarterback recently dumped the blonde bombshell, and for two main reasons: the intense media scrutiny, and problems he has with her father, Joe Simpson.

A close college buddy of Romo’s told the paper that the Cowboy “really had it” with being the centre of tabloid attention, and that Romo felt it was distracting him from his career.

The insider also said Romo has been having issues with Papa Joe, who has been “not only telling Jessica every move to make, but now has begun to offer unsolicited advice to Tony on his career, endorsement opportunities and things that have nothing to do with him dating Jessica.”

But there’s a chance the couple haven’t gone splitsville. Simpson’s reps are insisting they are still a couple, and Romo is still expected to escort Simpson to sister Ashlee’s marriage this weekend to Pete Wentz.

Jessica Simpson has quickly checked in and out of the hospital after suffering a kidney infection.

In Touch magazine reports that Simpson arrived at the hospital on Friday. According to her rep, “[Simpson] was hospitalized for a kidney infection, but she has been released and is doing fine.”

A source also told the mag that “She checked in on Friday morning because she was feeling achy and had a fever. She is so happy she is out and feeling great.”

Simpson was treated at the Cedars-Sinai Medical Center.

Dallas Cowboy fans are not going to be happy.

Jessica Simpson’s legal team is lashing out at OK! magazine for printing an “utterly false” article saying Cowboys QB Tony Romo dumped the singer after his team failed to make the Super Bowl.

Turns out, according to Simpson’s publicist, Romo and Simpson are still going strong.

“I’ve spoken to both Jess and Tony, and they are completely secure in their relationship and won’t let this garbage get under their skin!” Cindi Berger told E! News.

Simpson’s camp has sent a retraction request to the magazine and calls the story a “personal attack masquerading as journalism.”

“That rag completely fabricated and made up this story,” Simpson’s rep Berger said.

John Mayer shocked fans when he began dating Jessica Simpson, but it seems he really saw something special in her – a good soul and a love of Texas.

Simpson, who is currently dating Tony Romo of the Dallas Cowboys, is being blamed for the team’s recent losing streak. In a kind blog posted this week and addressed to “Dallas and Surrounding Areas,” Mayer defended his ex. Noting that it wasn’t meant as a publicity stunt, he said, “This is about doing what I think is right as a person, in this case speaking my mind.

“I have never known anyone to have more pride in their home state and their upbringing in it than Jessica Simpson has in Texas. I don’t really follow sports, but I have played some of my biggest and best concerts in your state, and having witnessed how dynamic the spirit there is, I’m betting emotions are running high right about now.

“All witty barbs, blogs, and fashion policing aside, that girl loves Texas more than you know. It’s one of her most defining traits as a person. So please don’t try and take that away from her. (You probably wouldn’t be able to, but it’s less work for all involved.)

“I just thought it would mean something coming from the guy who has the absolute least to gain from this. And if I’m out of line in having written it, too bad. I can spare a Wednesday’s worth of bad press if it means sticking up for a good soul.”

Mayer is currently rumoured to be dating “Friday Night Lights” star Minka Kelly.

Ever since “The Dukes of Hazard” wrapped in 2005, Jessica Simpson has been dying to slip on those cowboy boots, some tight denim shorts and exercise that charming southern drawl again.

At present, Columbia Records and Jessica Simpson are hard at work putting the blonde bombshell’s debut country album together.

Referencing some of her most favourite musical inspirations like Martina McBride, Faith Hill and Canadian starlet Shania Twain, Yahoo News quoted Simpson in saying: “I think there is a strength in female country artists.”

“Writing is a release for me,” she revealed. “It’s a way for me to tell my story. That’s not to say I wouldn’t record a song that I didn’t write.”

Columbia expects a release date sometime this year.
