Back in February, Matt Damon declared he would not use the bathroom until everyone in the world had access to clean drinking water. Below is the video of the “press conference” where he announced the strike:
While the strike started out as a joke, other celebs including Jessica Biel, Jason Bateman and Josh Gad joined the campaign, bringing more laughs along with some much needed attention to the issue. This is their PSA:
And now Olivia Wilde, Richard Branson and Bono have pledged their support! Although it appears they took a little more convincing, since neither Branson or Bono were pleased with Damon’s impromptu visit to the Illuminati clubhouse. Ya, I was a little confused about that part too.
I think this is a great and hilarious way to bring attention to a serious issue. Most people probably don’t know that 780 million people lack access to clean, safe water, and how huge an effect something we take for granted has on their day to day lives. The jokes are perfect, and it’s an awesome example of celebrities using their powers for good. Way to go, Matt!!
In the world of celebrity news, there’s no shortage of hits and misses. This week, Channing Tatum gets People Magazine‘s top honour and the media gets a little too serious on the Justin Bieber/Selena Gomez split.
HIT: Channing Tatum named People‘s “Sexiest Man of 2012″
I’m not going to lie, this is more of a half-hearted hit. I, like the rest of the internet, believed that the honour would finally go to Ryan Gosling. Seriously, the People’s Sexiest Man Alive award is like the Oscars for him: his name gets thrown around a lot but he never gets the prize. On the other hand, Tatum had a fantastic year. Between 21 Jump Street, Magic Mike (!!), and the three other movies he put out this year, Tatum really got the chance to show off his butt his acting skills.
MISS: Media analysis of the Justin Bieber/Selena Gomez split

I can’t help but shake my head whenever I see another entertainment show talk about the Bieber/Gomez break-up. Every entertainment host I’ve seen has used the kind of sad, serious tone that should only be reserved for disasters when they analysis “what went wrong.” Bieber and Gomez are 18- and 20-years-old respectively. Dear entertainment tools, what do you think happened? Breaking up with someone is hard, but to do it under such scrutiny is unimaginable. Just let them be!
HIT: iCarly fans to finally meet Carly’s dad

I don’t even watch the show, but from what I’ve heard, Carly’s dad is a colonel in the army and hasn’t been in a single episode of iCarly until now. I don’t want to spoil the plot for anyone so I’ll just leave that revelation at that (EW will spoil it though). I do suspect that this will be one tearjerker of an episode because it’s probably one of the sweetest storylines I’ve ever read. Prepare thy tissue boxes!

While Jessica Biel and Justin Timberlake’s wedding seemed like a fairy tale, things took a quick turn for the worst when a “gag” video was shown during the festivities.
The video, which features homeless people offering their best wishes because they couldn’t make the big day, was created by Timberlake’s friend Justin Huchel. With a portion of the video first published on Gawker, lawyers are now trying to get the clip taken down because viewers found it so offensive.
So to set things straight, Timberlake wrote an open letter apologizing if he offended anyone.
In the letter, he claims that he “was not made aware” of the video by adding, “I do understand the reaction and, by association, I am holding myself accountable.”
And while Timberlake defends his friends by saying they are “good people” , he also ensured that he will be making his friend do “100 hours of community service”. Check out the rest of his letter on Timberlake’s website.
Mistakes like these happen to the best of us, but I thought the video was in very bad taste. Perhaps the 100 community service hours will teach this friend a good lesson!

In the world of celebrity news, there’s no shortage of hits and misses. This week, Bruno Mars kills it on SNL and Justin Timberlake didn’t invite N*Sync members Joey Fatone or Lance Bass to this wedding.
HIT: Bruno Mars on SNL
Unless you’re Justin Timberlake, having a musical guest also double as a host is a very risky move. Luckily, the writers were on their game this weekend as Bruno Mars capitalized on his singing skills in the Pandora sketch. Unfortunately, that sketch isn’t available online because of multiple copyrights attached the songs he sang (including Justin Bieber’s “Boyfriend). If you do find it, treasure that moment forever. It’s a pretty great.
MISS: Justin Timberlake reportedly banned one half of N*Sync from his wedding

Speaking of Justin Timberlake, Celebs like Jimmy Fallon and Andy Samburg were just two out of 100 wedding guests at his wedding in Italy. You know who wasn’t there? Lance Bass and Joey Fantone. According to Us Weekly fodder, “Justin hates Lance now.” Well, you know what Timberlake? Boo you for not wanting the greatest boy band in the world in reunite. BOO YOU (as in displeasure, not in a ghoulish scream)!
HIT: Armie Hammer is a prince in real life

Armie Hammer can now join the “Celebrities can be heroes, too” club after helping a car crash victim in L.A. According to model Leeann Tweeden (who can join the club, too because she also helped), Hammer helped an old lady out of her smashed-up car during rush hour. What rare breed Hammer is: his charming face matches his thoughtful personality.

At first I thought the biggest shock was Jessica Biel and Justin Timberlake surprising everyone and marrying each other before the expected date. Now I know the bigger surprise was Jessica Biel’s pink wedding gown.
Admittedly, freaking out over the frilly wedding gown of someone you don’t know is kind of silly, but bear with me, kay? Biel and Timberlake shared exclusive photos with People, along with details from the ceremony.
Apparently the singer-actor played the guitar and serenaded his bride with an original song as she was walking down the aisle (sob!). Her gown was a custom, petal pink Giambattista Valli Haute Couture gown.
One hundred guests were present, including Jimmy Fallon, Andy Samberg, Timbaland and Beverly Mitchell.
Ladies, looks like your ’90s boy band heartthrob is officially off the market!
Confirming the news to PEOPLE magazine, former ‘N Sync singer Justin Timberlake and actress Jessica Biel are now a married couple.
Releasing a statement as a tease for the magazine’s upcoming issue containing their wedding photos, they said, “It’s great to be married, the ceremony was beautiful and it was so special to be surrounded by our family and friends.”
Having dated since 2007, the couple tied the knot in southern Italy but details of the wedding have been kept mum until the last minute.
This of course brings me to give my obligatory congratulations to the couple! They seem lovely together so I’m REALLY hoping the very best for them!

The lace used in today’s dresses looks so delicate that you won’t end up channeling a paper doily. In fact, it’s a material that’s both timeless and chic. The look isn’t reserved for special occasions like baby showers, weddings or graduations either — Kate Middleton has inspired us to adopt lace in our everyday wardrobe. In the photo above, Jessica Biel looks effortlessly pretty and feminine in this monochromatic ensemble. Now you can too!

“Hey andPOP,” you tell us, “you’re posting so many videos by Jimmy Kimmel.”
Well, it’s because the late night host is on a roll. It must be nice that Kimmel has tons of celebrity friends that he can call up to put together these hilarious video compilations. Anyone who can get Meryl Streep to own a mustache and Matt Damon to grope his grape suit (and then cut him from the movie) is good in my books.
This trailer for “Movie: The Movie” is supposed to sell the most epic film in history. The A-list cast goes on: George Clooney, Colin Farrell, Samuel L. Jackson, Charlize Theron, Tom Hanks, Martin Scorsese, Emily Blunt, Jessica Biel, Jason Bateman, Chewbacca and many more. It also features every stereotypical plot and genre in movie history. Why see ten movies when you can get all the action in this one?
Justin Timberlake has asked Jessica Biel to marry him, reports Us Weekly. The proposal happened in the mountains of Jackson, Wyoming, in late December.
“Justin knows how much she loves snowboarding and the mountains, so it was the perfect place,” the magazine quoted an insider.
Us Weekly says that after a three-month split in early 2011, Biel, 29, made it clear that she wanted to spend her life with Timberlake, 30.
“When they reunited, they had a conversation about taking the next step,” a source told Us.
In March last year, the couple broke up after four years, but their reps seemed to leave the door open.

Not everyone likes Justin Timberlake, as I imagined. Jessica Biel’s brother is probably president of the I Hate Justin Timberlake club.
TMZ just posted a video of Justin (Jessica’s brother, not boyfriend) dissing Timberlake’s Tequila comapny, 901. He says it’s a massive failure and it’s all Timerlake’s fault.
Usually, everything Timberlake does or says is praised. He’s loved for his time in N Sync, his solo efforts, his skits on SNL and most of his movies. He’s been pretty successful with his clothing line, William Rast, and his efforts to revamp MySpace. It takes a lot of guts for Justin Biel to make fun of him on a public platform.
“I’ve been waiting for [Timberlake] to do something with this f**king brand — make a song about it, put it in a god damn video, hold it up, take some pictures, I don’t care — just do something because we’re dying on the motherf**king vine here!” Justin rants.
He sounds pretty drunk, if you ask me. He goes on to give tag line suggestions:
- 901 Tequila: mixes well with a bump of cocaine
- 901 Tequila: Steve Jobs used to drink it – oh man that’s too soon
- 901 Tequila: I only s**t my pants once on it
- 901 Tequila: so god damn exclusive our own CEO doesn’t even drink it
According to TMZ, Justin used to work for his sister’s boyfriend at 901 Tequila but was recently “let go” a few weeks ago. He could have put out this video as a way of getting back at the company for firing him.
901 is trying to cover their butts by released a statement, saying this video was “as part of a larger viral marketing campaign slated for the end of December. It was released prematurely without our knowledge and prior to the final edit.”

Four of the hottest stars will honour ordinary teens doing extraordinary things at the third annual TeenNick HALO Awards.
Taylor Swift will join Lady Gaga, actress Jessica Biel and soccer phenomenon David Beckham as they award four young individuals who have made a difference in their communities.
HALO, which stands for “Helping and Leading Others”, will recognize teens like James O’Dwyer, who started the Magnolia Disaster Relief, a program offering aid to rural areas affected by tornadoes. Taylor is the celeb scheduled to present O’Dwyer with his award.
MTV News says Nick Cannon will host the special ceremony in Los Angeles. It will be broadcasted on November 6 on Nick at Nite.
According to People, Justin Timberlake and Jessica Biel are no more. The couple decided to end their relationship recently and “there are no hard feelings,” a source told PEOPLE exclusively. “It was completely mutual and they both decided it was time to move on.”
The source added that Biel is keeping her house in L.A. and she and Timberlake will remain friends. The two had been dating since 2007.
Reps for both of the stars released a statement on Thursday, confirming the split: “Addressing the media speculation regarding Jessica Biel and Justin Timberlake’s relationship, we are confirming that they mutually have decided to part ways. The two remain friends and continue to hold the highest level of love and respect for each other.”
This news isn’t really shocking, the two haven’t been seen together for quite a while now. I’m sure there are thousands of girls, and boys, out there who are thrilled Timberlake is a single man again. Same goes for Biel. They are the hottest people in Hollywood right now, so I’m sure they will have no problem rebounding and finding new love. Plus, as far as Hollywood relationships go, they lasted quite a while. Time to move on, you two!
Jessica Biel has climbed to the top of many guys hearts, and claimed them. She also may have climbed to the top of Mt. Kilimanjaro, but now Biel wants to climb bigger, reports People.
“I’m thinking about trekking to Everest base camp,” Biel said Saturday, at the 13th Annual EIF Revlon Run/Walk for Women in New York’s Times Square. “That’s kind of the next goal.”
Back in January, Biel climbed Africa’s tallest peak, accompanied by actor Emile Hirsch and members of the United Nation Foundation. The climb was held to raise awareness and funds for the global water crisis.
Although Biel wants to tackle this summit, she admits that she hasn’t continued her pre-climb training.
“I’m not keeping up the same type of workout because it was a little different than what I normally do,” Biel said.
So, hopefully the star can manage to get back into shape and conquer Everest. Keep your fingers crossed.
Justin Timerberlake’s mom, Lynn Harless, told E! News she thinks the woman her son is with is awesome. “He’s found someone that’ll golf with him, give him a hard time when he deserves it and stand up to him,” she said.
She’s assumed to be talking about Jessica Biel, although rumours have been circulating that the pair has broken up. Timberlake was alone this weekend when he headed to Las Vegas to host a golf tournament and all-star benefit concert for Shriners Hospitals for Children.
“Easy Virtue” is easy on the eyes, but is it an amazing film? Not really. The movie, based on the 1920’s play by Noel Coward that was also adapted into a silent film by Alfred Hitchcock in 1928 is definitely viewable — but it won’t bedazzle.
The story goes that a young Englishman, John Whittaker (played by “Narnia’s” Ben Barnes), falls in love with a glamorous American race-car beauty named Larita (Jessica Biel). They elope Vegas-style without telling their families in the roaring twenties. But when John decides to take Larita back home (meaning a humongous mansion in the outskirts of England) John’s mother, Mrs. Whittaker, becomes less than pleased with his selection.
Now, before your alarm bells go off by thinking this movie is anything like J.Lo’s “Monster-in-Law” flick where the mother-in-law vs. daughter-in-law war is there just for laughing purposes don’t worry, “Easy Virtue” isn’t like that at all. Coward was known for presenting comedies in the form of tragedies and this idea transpires into the movie. Also be warned that the film’s opening credits may lead you into thinking you’re in for an hour and a half of cheese but don’t be fooled, it gets much better.
JESSICA BIEL is astonished men find her magazine photospreads sexy, because shooting them is the most uncomfortable and unnatural experience.
The actress explains it takes hours standing in awkward positions to create the polished effect of a covershoot.
Biel tells Parade, “It’s never nearly as sexy doing it as it appears in a magazine. You’re sort of laughing through the photo shoot because it’s funny to take yourself so seriously.
“I could never be a model because you’re always standing in an awkward position and your back hurts, and you’re wearing heels lying on a rock or in the sand or something. You’re like, ‘This is weird. I’m uncomfortable. I’m itching. I need to scratch.’
“So I would much rather laugh and do a funny sexy scene.” (IG/STR/ES)

Derek Jeter is a baseball star. He’s also pretty good at baggin’ some of the hottest ladies in entertainment.
His past conquests have included Mariah Carey and Nick Lachey’s woman, Vanessa Minnillo. Now he’s lookin’ to round home base with Jessica Biel.
Jeter and Biel were were seen together at Hyde Nightclub, reports Page Six, who also said they were “laughing and giggling together.”
Jeter was glued to Biel throughout the night, ignoring the advances of tons and tons of other chicks. They also reportedly left the club together, but neither rep is talking.
Jessica Biel was able to raise $30,000 US for an injured teenager by auctioning herself off for a date.
The high bidder, identified only as John, made the bid at the Denver auction on Tuesday, reports WENN. His prize will be a lunch date with the 24-year-old actress, best known for her role on Christian drama 7th Heaven.
The auction was held to raise money for Molly Bloom, a young girl saddled with huge medical bills after losing her leg and part of her pelvis as a result of a limo accident on her prom night in May.
“Jessica has this opportunity to create a buzz that would provide some support and she’s more than happy to do that,” said Biel’s father, Jonathan.
Actress Jessica Biel is set to auction off a date to the highest bidder, with proceeds going to a teenager who lost her leg on prom night in an automobile accident.
According to newspapers in Denver, the event will be called “Mollypalooza” in celebration of 18-year-old Molly Bloom. Her family has been saddled with medical bills following the accident.
In May, Bloom was struck and dragged almost 40 feet by a Hummer stretch limousine, according to police. The driver of the car, Stanley D. Sample, is facing a misdemeanor charge of careless driving resulting in serious bodily injury.
“My mom happened to be able to contact (Biel’s) parents, and they had heard about Molly’s tragedy,” said Dmitri Lee Natali, a 19-year-old friend and ex-classmate of Bloom’s. “They said, ‘Yeah, I bet she’ll do [the date].’”
The fundraiser will take place on Tuesday at the Rock Island Club in Denver, CO, though Biel won’t be in attendance.
50 Cent is in final negotiations to star in Home of the Brave, a dramatic wartime film concerning the conflict in Iraq.
Samuel L. Jackson, Jessica Biel, Christina Ricci and Brian Presley have already signed on to star in the project, which follows three soldiers and the difficult adjustments they must make upon their return home from the battlefield.
The independently financed film will begin shooting next month in Morocco with a budget of U.S.$12 million. When production moves to Spokane, Washington, producers will then approach studios for a distribution deal.
