Janet Jackson fans will have to wait a little longer — two days, to be exact.
The singer had been expected to resume her Rock Witchu tour tonight (Saturday) in Connecticut, after cancelling six shows due to illness.
However, it appears Jackson has not fully recuperated yet, as that show has now also been scrapped.
“Janet Jackson’s anticipated return to her Rock Witchu tour tomorrow in Uncasville, Conn., has been postponed due to doctor’s orders,” promoter Live Nation said in a statement to Access Hollywood Friday.
Jackson is now expected to return to the stage Monday at the Turning Stone Resort & Casino in Verona, N.Y.
Altogether, Jackson will have missed seven shows since falling ill two weeks ago just before a show in Montreal.
No details have been released about her illness, though she was reportedly under a doctor’s care and had been advised to rest until she fully recovered.
Tickets for the missed shows are expected to be honoured at future dates, with a couple of gigs having been re-scheduled so far.
Rock Witchu is Jackson’s first North American tour in seven years.
Wardrobe malfunction? Never fear, Janet is here.
Janet Jackson has announced plans to release her own lingerie line in November, reports E!. I guess after Nipplegate at the Superbowl she’s become a bra-wearing kinda’ girl.
“People have come to me with other ideas, but lingerie is a passion for me, and just like music and acting, I can’t do it unless I put 100 percent into it,” Jackson said.
Jackson’s line, titled Pleasure Principle after her hit song in 1987, will be available in department stores and mass retailers in the fall with a pricetag of each piece under $40. The line will consist mainly of satin and lace detailing.
“It makes you feel incredible and offers variety as diverse as the women who will wear it,” Jackson said. After making its U.S. debut this fall, the line will launch in Australia, Japan and Europe.
“There’s something for every woman, and that’s very important to us,” Jackson said. “I’ve always hated when lingerie is uncomfortable, so the fit and comfort was key.”
Justin promised to have Janet naked by the end of his song – but it took a hell of a lot longer for the consequences to be resolved in court.
The $550,000 fine against CBS was dropped yesterday for the infamous nipple tassel incident at the 2004 Superbowl.
A panel of three judges ruled that the Federal Communications Commission “acted arbitrarily and capriciously” when it fined CBS so heavily.
Janet Jackson has previously said she was hurt by the way Justin Timberlake failed to stick up for her during the onslaught of media and legal attention that followed the incident.
Mel B is eager to get her solo singing career back on track, and the former Spice Girl is determined to succeed.
“I’m not scared of having another try. I am working with the best producers ever. I am now ten tracks in to my new record,” says Scary Spice.
According to gossip site PerezHilton.com, the pop star also revealed that she will be teaming up with Janet Jackson on a track on her upcoming solo album.
“I am doing something with Janet Jackson, which should be amazing. I am also going to hook up with Missy again.” Back in 1998, Mel B worked with Missy Elliot on her debut solo track “I Want You Back.”
Hopefully Mel B’s newest single and album strikes success. The singer’s last single “Today” failed to break the UK Top 40 when it was released in 2005.
JANET JACKSON fears a photoshoot with country singer KENNY ROGERS may be to blame for reports her niece is actually her secret daughter.
The NASTY singer has been fighting the rumours that she gave birth to a lovechild for years, and now accepts taking her to a photoshoot with Rogers in 1987 may have sparked the story.
She says, “She did a photoshoot with me with Kenny Rogers for one of his books. The photo wasn’t in the book; he used another photo. But he gave me the photograph.
“I’d take this niece around, and people would say that we looked alike… so they automatically assumed that she was my daughter.”

Rap mogul JERMAINE DUPRI is planning to wed his longtime girlfriend JANET JACKSON after telling presidential hopeful BARACK OBAMA she writes him the sweetest love notes.
Dupri met up with Senator Obama at a party in New York last week and the subject matter quickly turned to Ms Jackson.
Confiding in the presidential hopeful, Dupri told Obama, he’s “definitely” marrying Janet, and “can’t wait to make a baby with her.”
A fellow party guest, who overheard the chat, tells Life & Style magazine, “Barack told him he’s a lucky man, and Jermaine replied, ‘You have no idea! She takes good care of me… She writes me poems.’”

Janet Jackson loves shopping for sex toys with her security guards.
The “All For You” singer – who is dating music producer Jermaine Dupri – insists shopping for sex aids helps her “blow off steam” and she much prefers to visit kinky shops with burly men rather than her girlfriends.
She told FHM magazine: “Some of my friends say, ‘How do you feel about being in a sex shop with those security guys?’ And I’m like, ‘They have sex too. They’ll probably be coming back the minute they drop me off.’”
The 40-year-old star considers herself an expert on sex toys and often advises her girlfriends on what racy items to buy.
She said: “I’ll get a bunch of stuff for the girls, like dildos with little ticklers. And the girls are like, ‘This is the best!’ Because when you’re on
the road, you need that kind of stuff.”
Though no nipple shields are involved this time, Janet Jackson’s breasts are once again the talk of the music industry.
The singer will appear topless on the cover for Vibe magazine’s September issue, reports the Associated Press.
In the photograph, Jackson is shown standing in water while wearing bikini bottoms and a necklace of large shells. She is covering her chest with her arm.
The last time Jackson showed this much skin publicly, it sparked a still-ongoing debate about television censorship. That was, of course, when Justin Timberlake pulled off a part of Jackson’s outfit and ‘accidentally’ revealed one of her breasts during the 2004 Super Bowl halftime show.
“It’s just over and done with,” Jackson told Vibe of the incident. “It’s old. It’s the past. It’s history. I’m onto something new. Everybody got their licks in – those who wanted to – and it’s done.”
The September issue of Vibe is set to hit newsstands on August 15.
Janet Jackson is giving her fans the chance to design the cover artwork for her upcoming album, “20 Years Old.”
The contest is being put on by Jackson and Yahoo!, with fans choosing between 33 pictures of the singer to rework into a cover. The preselected images and other details are available at designme.janetjackson.com.
According to a press release, Janet will choose her favourite four entries to appear on selected copies of the album. Sixteen other finalists will be rewarded with Jackson’s entire album catalogue on CD.
The album and its title are meant to celebrate the 20th anniversary of Jackson’s breakthrough album, 1986’s “Control.” For her new record, Jackson teamed up once more with her collaborators from the “Control” sessions, Jimmy “Jam” Harris and Terry Lewis.
The first single from the album, “Call on Me,” features Nelly and was released on June 19.
The U.S. Federal Communications Commission has rejected CBS’ second appeal to have a $550,000 US “indecency” fine dropped. The fine was incurred following Janet Jackson’s “wardrobe malfunction” at the Super Bowl in 2004.
E! Online reports that CBS argued the halftime show incident was neither planned nor indecent. However, the FCC disagreed.
“The commission affirms its finding that CBS’ violation was willful and declines to reduce the forfeiture imposed upon CBS,” read a statement from the agency.
The fine was originally issued in September 2004, and the network’s first appeal was denied in February.
The Jackson incident has led to widespread use of 7-second delays in live broadcasts and fines of $325,000 per violation.
It has also firmly secured a place for the FCC as the modern-day HUAC. At this rate, the U.S. government will be back to hunting Witches in no time.
