Cameo Stars, known for taking celebrities and bringing them to the home of adoring fans in the form of virtual cameo appearances on your social network profile or mobile device, have teamed up with the singing-competition reality show to bring the Top Eleven Finalists directly onto fans’ Facebook pages.
The Idol virtual appearances can feature each of the finalists in exclusive, never-before-seen content; for example, giving “pokes” and singing Happy Birthday to your Facebook friends. I know nothing would make me happier than hearing James Durbin belt out the birthday jam with his Steven Tyler-like range!
But the possibilities don’t end there – one lucky fan will receive a pair of tickets to attend the 10th season finale of American Idol! In the wise words of Casey Abram’s miniature virtual self, “American Idol tickets, pretty hard to get, backstage passes almost impossible, but getting front row…that never happens!”
“Cameo Stars is very excited to work with FremantleMedia Enterprises and 19 Entertainment to bring this season’s American Idol finalists to the millions of Idol fans on Facebook,” Daren Hornig, President and CEO of Cameo Stars, said in a press release. “We feel this collaboration is a natural extension of the show’s new social media strategy, and successfully utilizes this platform to deliver customized branded content in a way that has never been done before.”
Nicholas Dale, Manager of Interactive for FME added, “We are always looking for creative ways to reach our dedicated Idol fan base. The Cameo Stars platform provides us with a wonderful opportunity for our finalists to play a more social role in the user’s Facebook experience. Our fans have always been eager to connect with the next American Idol and this collaboration helps us take it one step further.”
