Outer Panel Haven. 19

drakeSo I and many others I know have been glued to Uncharted 2 for the last couple of days. The game is simply amazing and unlike anything you have ever seen. This made me think of the common misconception the title often receives, I mean don’t get me wrong, it certainly has some of the best inspirations behind it, however Nathan Drake and his tales are much closer to the movie Romancing the Stone than say, Indiana Jones.
Don’t even get me started on Tomb Raider comparisons, the game just can’t compete. I honestly never think of Tomb Raider whilst playing since it’s a whole different beast.

Anyhow this was fun since I got to sketch Harrison Ford from a reference pic and tried my best with Lara.
Drake was hard to nail down without it looking too cheesy. In the end I opted for a real pic just because I wanted to give that “head and shoulders” above feel. Plus it just made my work easier.
And in all honesty just try and imagine telling Drake himself of that- I think his response would be something similar.

‘Indiana Jones’ Gets A Wii Debut

Soon, Nintendo Wii addicts will be able to step into Indy’s shoes in a quest of their own. “Indiana Jones And The Staff Of The Kings” follows the archeologist in an all new journey across the world and hits stores in late spring of 2009.

The adventure is set in 1939 where Indy must battle with his nemesis, Magnus Völler, over who can find the staff of moses. For that he’ll have travel all over the world including the jungles of Panama and San Francisco’s Chinatown.

Gamers can expect action sequences similar to Indy’s pursuit of the motorcade in “Raiders of the Lost Ark”, or the mine-cart scene featured in “Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom”.

Indy’s signature whip will be useful: the Wii remote functions as the iconic weapon. Gamers will experience intense chases and be able to control vehicles, including a biplane in a canyon trench.

Another ‘Indiana Jones’ Movie For Harrison Ford?

There was a 19 year gap between the last “Indiana Jones” film and “Crystal Skull,” but will fans have to wait this long for another movie?

When asked about the possibility of another “Indiana Jones” movie, Harrison Ford told MTV News “I don’t know. If we come up with a good idea.”

According to Ford, a new Jones film would depend mainly on writer George Lucas, “With some general input, he goes off and searches for the MacGuffin and then stumbles into a story. And at some point, we have a chance to take a look at it and give some input.”

When asked by MTV News if Lucas has found this “MacGuffin,” Ford says, “No, we’re still in the primary stages.”

And if ever another actor was cast to play the adventurer in future films 50 years from now, Ford would have no problems, “The very simple addition of numbers would make it clear that in 50 years I will not give a sh– at all. I will so not care.”

Shia LaBeouf’s Hand ‘Crushed’ in Collision

Shia LaBeouf’s left hand was “crushed” in a weekend traffic accident and possibly runs the risk of infection, reports People Magazine.

“The force of (the) impact immediately flipped Shia’s vehicle over, and, as a result, Shia’s left hand was crushed,” said the actor’s attorney Michael Norris in a statement.

“Shia underwent four hours of surgery on Sunday and has been recovering since then. His doctors remain hopeful that he will fully recover, but due to extensive surgery and the nature of the injuries, there remains a substantial risk of both infection and other complications.”

A week ago, LeBeouf, 22, suffered the injuries when his truck collided with another vehicle.

“We have also received information that suggests that the other driver may have been traveling upwards of 50 mph, and that said driver may not have been looking forward at the time of the accident,” the lawyer says.

A Los Angeles County sheriff spokesman said the actor may have not been at fault for the crash.

“We have strong evidence that the other driver ran a red light,” sheriff’s spokesman Steve Whitmore said. “The case is still under investigation.”

Shia LaBeouf in Hospital after DUI Crash

Shia LaBeouf is recovering in a Los Angeles hospital after an early morning car crash Sunday, reports E! News.

The 22-year-old actor was allegedly making a left turn when his Ford F-150 pickup struck another car and rolled over twice. The accident left the “Indiana Jones” and “Transformers” star with an injury to his left hand, head and knee.

L.A. County Sheriff’s deputies came to the scene of the accident involving the two-vehicle collision at around 2:30 a.m. LaBeouf had to undergo surgery for his hand injury while his female passenger and the woman driving the other vehicle suffered minor injuries. Although all three were taken to the hospital, both women were treated and released while LaBeouf remains at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center.

LaBeouf was booked on suspicion of DUI but was released from sheriff’s custody to get medical attention.

Shia LaBeouf’s Traumatic Childhood

“Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull” star Shia LaBeouf has opened up about his traumatic childhood.

The 21-year-old actor grew up in a part of Los Angeles full of gang crime and even witnessed violence first-hand during the race riots in 1992.

“I saw people get stabbed across the street in the park on a daily basis,” said LaBeouf, who also admits his father was a drug dealer and addict.

“I didn’t get a lot of time with my father. I didn’t really know him until I started working on my Disney show ‘Even Stevens’, and that was because I was paying him to be my parent on set.”

The two have never had a close father-son relationship.

‘Indiana Jones’ Strikes Gold at the Box Office

“Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull” struck big at the box office this weekend by becoming the second biggest Memorial Day movie opening ever, according to studio estimates Sunday.

According to Paramount Pictures, the fourth instalment of the “Indiana Jones” series grossed an estimated $101 million from Friday to Sunday, plus $25 million from its opening Thursday and is expected to earn another $25 million on Monday.

“Indiana Jones’ did incredibly well for a film that comes 19 years after the previous instalment,” said Paul Dergarabedian, president of Media By Numbers LLC. Previously, the first three Indy movies took in a total of $1.2 billion worldwide.

“The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian,” came in second with $23 million while “Iron Man” came in third with another $20.1 million, bringing the movie’s domestic total to $252.3 million.

Indiana Jones 5…Without the Indy?

Although the fourth instalment of Indiana Jones doesn’t come to theatres until Thursday, there is already talk about making a fifth film – without Harrison Ford as the lead role.

George Lucas, while walking the red carpet at the Cannes Film Festival for the premiere of Kung Fu Panda, suggested to reporters about the possibility of a sequel to “Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull.”

“I haven’t even told Steven [Spielberg] or Harrison this,” he said. “But I have an idea to make Shia [LaBeouf] the lead character next time and have Harrison come back like Sean Connery did in the last movie. I can see it working out.”

As for now, diehard fans can relax. Ford, 65, told reporters on Friday that “till they tell me otherwise, I will continue to be Indiana Jones.”

Connery Won’t Be In Indiana Jones IV

SIR SEAN CONNERY has announced he will not be returning for the next film in the INDIANA JONES franchise.

The 76-year-old had been tipped to reprise his role from 1989’s Indiana Jones And The Last Crusade as Harrison Ford’s screen father, but has now confirmed he is sticking to his 2005 resolution to quit acting.

He says, “I thought long and hard about it, and if anything could have pulled me out of retirement it would have been an Indiana Jones film.

“I love working with Steven and George, and it goes without saying that it is an honour to have Harrison as my son. But in the end, retirement is just too damned much fun.”

Elsewhere, John Hurt has been added to the cast. It is unclear what character the veteran star will play, but he is joining Ford, Shia LaBeouf, Cate Blanchett and Ray Winstone on the movie.

Connery adds, “This is a remarkable cast, and I can only say, ‘Break a leg, everyone.’ I’ll see you at the theatre.”
