Playboy Mansion Grotto Under Investigation

The Playboy Mansion’s legendary Grotto is under investigation after a respiratory epidemic following a party at the house earlier in the month.

TMZ reports that a survey was sent out to everyone who worked the party on Feb. 3 to see if there is a connection between the grotto and the sickness.

The survey specifically asks if the workers spent time around two party-centric “water features” on the property — 1) Grotto/pool … 2) Dance floor near fog machine.

The party was for Internet entrepreneurs. Fortunately the billionaire entrepreneurs have been able to afford decent healthcare. The same can’t be said for the workers.

Charlie Sheen’s Wife Brooke Mueller not in Rehab

Charlie Sheen’s wife Brooke Mueller is not in rehab despite earlier reports.

TMZ reports that they have spoken to Brooke’s lawyer, Yale Galanter, who explains that she is recovering from her pneumonia in the North Carolina facility. He further stresses that she is not in a rehab facility.

Galanter also said that their children are remaining at the family’s house under the care of Charlie Sheen and the nannies.

Lady Gaga Collapses Backstage, Cancels Show – Update

Ever since her skyrocket to pop royalty, Lady Gaga has been living a whirlwind life – and it seems to finally have caught up with her. According to rollingstone.com, Gaga was supposed to play a concert in Indiana last Thursday, but cancelled at the last minute when she collapsed backstage.

After opening acts Semi Precious Weapons and Jason DeRulo performed at Purdue University’s Elliott Hall of Music, the crowd was told that “Lady Gag will not be able to take the stage this evening due to sudden illness.”

“Due to exhaustion and dehydration, Lady Gaga collapsed and passed out before her show tonight in West Lafayette, Indiana,” the pop singer’s publicist told Rolling Stone. “Her physician has advised her to take a few days off to rest.” It was not specified exactly how long Gaga will be off the stage, but the Indiana show has been rescheduled for Jan. 26.

Gaga’s shows on the 16 in New Jersey and the 17 in Wallingford, Connecticut have been cancelled. Her Uncasville, Connecticut show on the 18 was postponed. However, her four-night gig at New York’s Radio City Music Hall, starting on Jan. 20 (tomorrow), are still said to be going ahead as planned.

Gaga is scheduled to perform at the Grammy Awards in Los Angeles on Jan. 31, where she is nominated in five categories, including Song and Record of the Year for “Poker Face” and Album of the Year for The Fame.

According to her current slate of tour dates, Gaga is scheduled to appear at New Jersey’s Borgata Casino tomorrow night, January 16th. She has gigs the following two nights, in Wallingford and Uncasville, Connecticut, respectively, before she has a one-day break in her schedule. After that, she is set to play four high-profile shows at New York’s Radio City Music Hall on January 20th, 21st and 23rd and 24th. After the Manhattan shows, Gaga’s next tour date is February 18th in England, where she launches a nearly three-month international tour. UPDATE: According to MTV News, Lady Gaga’s shows on the 16th and 17th have been canceled and the gig on the 18th was postponed; only her New York dates — and the rescheduled Purdue show — remain on her schedule, per Pollstar. Live Nation will issue full refunds for the canceled performances.

On her Twitter, Lady Gaga informed fans that she was devastated to have missed a performance. “An hour before the show, I was feeling dizzy and having trouble breathing,” she wrote, adding that paramedics diagnosed her with an irregular heartbeat as a result of exhaustion. “Can’t apologize enough for how sorry I am,” she added, explaining that her stage set has moving parts that could have proved dangerous had she passed out onstage. “I could hear my fans cheering from my dressing room, I begged everyone to let me go onstage. … I hope you can forgive me. I love my little monsters more than anything, you are everything to me.”

On Thursday night, Lady Gaga was scheduled to perform at Purdue University, however cancelled the show at the last minute due to illness. Furthermore, LiveNation (the tour’s promoter) announced that Saturday’s show in Atlantic City, and Sunday’s show in Wallingford, Connecticut have been cancelled, and that Monday’s show in Uncasville, Connecticut will be rescheduled.

Gaga tweeted about the Thursday night event, explaining to disappointed fans, “I’ve been crying for hours, I feel like I let my fans down 2nite. An hour before the show, I was feeling dizzy and having trouble breathing.”

Gaga further reports that she is suffering from an irregular heartbeat, as a result of exhaustion and dehydration. Her doctors have advised her to take some time off and rest. The Indiana show has been rescheduled for January 26.

Lady Gaga Cancels Concert

Lady Gaga has disappointed fans this evening at Purdue University. Gaga was set to perform tonight but cancelled at the last minute due to “illness.” TMZ reports that Purdue EMTs tried to tend to Gaga, but they were sent away. She then boarded her bus and took off, however the show has been rescheduled for January 26. Fans did get to see Gaga’s openers, so they didn’t go home completely unhanded.

UFC Champion Brock Lesnar Is Very Ill

UFC Heavyweight Champion Brock Lesnar is very ill, reports TMZ. UFC president Dana White said he likely has an intestinal disorder that will require major surgery.

Lesnar was forced to cancel a fight last week after he was diagnosed with mono. However, White says his current condition is not mono, nor is it HIV or cancer.

“There’s a possibility Lesnar will never fight again,” said White.

Coldplay Forced to Postpone Concert

Citing “artist-related medical reasons,” British band Coldplay postponed a concert at the Ford Ampitheatre in Tampa, Florida, scheduled for Sunday, reports Perez Hilton.

“We’re sorry to report that Coldplay has been forced to postpone their show at the Ford Ampitheatre in Tampa on Sunday, August 9th,” read a statement on the band’s web site. “This is due to medical reasons. The show is currently being rescheduled – we’ll give you the new details as soon as we have them. In the meantime, the band have asked us to apologize on their behalf for the inconvenience this causes.”

Depeche Mode Singer Hospitalized In Athens

Depeche Mode was forced to issue a last-minute cancellation for a show in Athens, Greece on Tuesday after lead singer Dave Gahan fell ill and was rushed to the hospital.

“We regret today’s performance has to be canceled … David Gahan fell ill in his dressing room,” a concert organizer told the approximately 20,000 fans who had shown up for the concert at the Terra Vibe park.

Gahan, 47, was taken to a private clinic for treatment of “suspected gastroenteritis,” reported French news agency AFP.

A spokesperson for the British band said the singer’s illness is not expected to affect further dates. The band is also expected to announce whether the Athens show will be rescheduled, and ticket holders are advised to hold on to their tickets.

Depeche Mode is currently supporting their new album, “Sounds of the Universe,” and have shows scheduled through February 2010.

Gahan has been lead vocalist for the post-punk/new wave band since they formed in Basildon, Essex in 1980. Since then, the group has sold more than 75 million albums worldwide.
