Johnny Depp is another actor that had his brush with death, it seems.
In an interview with Life Magazine, Depp says while filming his new movie the Rum Diary, he and director Bruce Robinson were on a private jet en route to L.A. when the engine failed and the two thought they were going down.
“The sound of the engines stopped. There was silence. Bruce and I were looking at each other and I think I said, ‘Is this it?’ It was like this weird extended moment when you’re just floating for a second and you could feel this unpleasant descent,” Johnny tells Life Mag.
His new movie, the Rum Diary, is based on a Hunter S. Thompson novel about a journalist who travels to Puerto Rico and gets into dangerous situations – similar to the plane crash scenario.
Depp said while he and his director were panicing, the engine started up again and landed home safely. The two breathed a major sigh of relief and joke that it was a nice bonding experience.
