Dr. Dre has carried his meticulous musical knowledge and expertise into the creation of The HP Envy 15 Beats limited-edition laptop, billboard.com reports.
Dre, alongside acclaimed producer Jimmy Iovine, helped unveil his latest project at Interscope’s Thom Thom club in California on Friday. Iovine noted that contributions were also made by production specialists like Pharrell, Kanye West, Timbaland and will.i.am.
Retailing at $2,299, the laptop will launch in the U.S. on October 22nd, and will be sold at major retailers and through HP direct. The purchase will also include a pair of “Beats by Dr. Dre” headphones, and mixing software from Native Instruments’ Traktor LE.
The laptop will introduce the pinnacle in sound technology, enabling consumers to listen to music at its best.

Ten days after the launch of HP’s “Blackbird” CPU, comes the release of the HP Blackbird 002 Dedication Edition. “Dedicated” especially to gamers, the Dedication Edition comes bundled with ” Voodoo Razer keyboard and mouse, Vista Ultimate upgrade, a three-month subscription of Games for Windows Live and an exclusive collection of game software. The “Orange Box” software bundle includes the following game titles: Half Life, Half Life2, Half Life 2 Episode 2, Portal, and Team Fortress 2.”
The specially configured Blackbird comes with an Intel Core Extreme QX6850 over-clocked processor, Dual Nvidia GeForce 8800 Ultra Graphics Card, Vista Ultimate and 2GB of DDR2-800 memory. The unit also comes with a hefty price tag of $5,500 USD, not including speakers or a display.
In case these specks or price weren’t enough, starting October 1st, customers will be able to build their own Blackbird 002 systems online at www.hp.com/blackbird.
