US singer/songwriter HOWIE DAY is reportedly back in rehab, just one month after he checked out of California’s Promises facility.

Britney Spears Dating Howie Day?

BRITNEY SPEARS has fallen for another musical bad boy and is now dating singer/songwriter HOWIE DAY after meeting him in rehab.

The TOXIC singer is planning to go public with her latest romance this summer when she takes Day, who is still in rehab, to her cousin ERIN’s wedding.

The couple met at Malibu, California’s Promises rehab facility during Spears’ recent month-long stay.

The pop star has told close pals that she’s smitten with her new beau, who hit the headlines following recent arrests on charges of disorderly conduct and allegedly verbally abusing a flight crew, while under the influence.

One Spears confidante tells Life & Style magazine, “Britney just lights up… when she talks to Howie or tells people about him. She thinks he’s very talented and says he’s the best kisser.”

The couple was photographed playing tennis together at Promises on March 15, and Spears has been texting love notes to Day since she left the facility at the end of last month.

The pals reveals, “They formed a special bond. They were in group therapy together and Brit found his experiences fascinating.

“They would talk in their free time and try to have lunch together twice a week.”

The couple plans to reunite when Day is released from Promises later this month.

Howie Day Ordered to Probation, Alcohol Conseling

Pop singer Howie Day was ordered on Wednesday to complete an alcohol counseling program and serve one year of probation after being charged with interfering with a flight crew on a plane from Dallas to Boston in December. The 25-year-old singer will not face jail time.

Day, a Brewer, Maine native, was heading home for the holidays on American Airlines Flight 2250 on Dec. 21 when he allegedly became verbally abusive to aircraft crew. Prosecutors said the singer, best known for his Top 40 hit “Collide,” also smoked a cigarette and kicked the backs of chairs.

Day’s attorney Paul V. Kelly claimed Day did not smoke and had a loud altercation with another passenger, not the flight crew, reports the Associated Press. Kelly also said that the singer had taken a sleeping pill to help him rest during the flight, then had a couple of alcoholic drinks. He argued that the prosecutors’ description of the incident was “inaccurate and overblown.”

Suffolk District Attorney Dan Conley has ordered Day to write letters of apology to American Airlines, as well as the passengers, captain and an attendant aboard the flight as part of the conditions of his probation. If Day complies, the charge of interfering with a flight crew will be dismissed.

Howie Day Arrested on Plane

Soft-rock artist Howie Day, known for his subdued style of music, was arrested earlier this week at Logan International Airport for rowdy behaviour.

Day was heading to Boston when he mixed alcohol and a sleeping pill, his lawyer said.

”He had a couple of drinks. The pill interacted with the drinks and he became intoxicated. He feels badly if he inconvenienced anyone, or caused any discomfort,” lawyer Paul Kelley said, according to the Associated Press.

Day was “was verbally abusive to the flight crew and was kicking the backs of seats of passengers,” a spokesman for the Suffolk District Attorney’s office said.

Day pleaded innocent and was released. He’s due back in court March 16.

Artists ‘Rock for Relief’

Jack Johnson, Howie Day, Citizen Cope and O.A.R. are among the artists who will appear on ?Rock for Relief,? a new compilation intended to help victims of natural disaster, reports Billboard.

The album, due Jan. 31, is a cooperative effort between Foundations and Zoe/Rounder Records. Proceeds will be donated to nonprofit aid organization Mercy Corps to benefit victims of the Indian Ocean tsunamis, hurricanes Katrina, Wilma and Rita and the earthquake in Pakistan.

Johnson contributes a live rendition of ?Times Like These,? a track from his 2003 album ?On and On.? Day offers an alternative version of ?Collide,? while Guster contributes a song previously available only in limited released, “Say That to My Face.”

Artists like Dispatch, Marc Broussard and Ari Hest will also appear on the album.

“The idea to put together an album that would benefit victims of the natural disasters from the past year came about shortly after the Indian Ocean Tsunamis,” says the album’s executive producer, Steve Bursky.

“Music is a universal language that can uplift spirits, and with this album, hopefully it can also help alleviate the burdens of those suffering from natural disasters by providing them with food and other necessary resources, through our beneficiary, Mercy Corps.”
