In last night’s episode of How I Met Your Mother, Barney made another trip to good ol’ Canada to find out who his fiancé, Robin, was obsessed with.
The episode mentioned some great Canadian staples like The Grey Cup, MuchMusic, and most importantly, Barney paid a visited to a Tim Horton’s (which, by the way, was eerily actually spot on, fake plants and all).
The episode also included another look at Robin’s former life as the Canadian popstar known as Robin Sparkles. Though according to the Behind the Music-like episode of Under the Tunes, Robin’s transformation from bubble-gum pop to the grunge singer Robin Daggers at the 1996 Grey Cup was a moment nobody forgot, a moment where any Canadian could tell you exactly which Tim Horton’s they were in and what doughnut they were eating at the time.
It was the day actor Jason Priestley crammed a timbit into a strawberry vanilla doughnut, which he called “The Priestley.”
Well, it seems like someone at Tim Hortons is a HIMYM fan as they recreated “The Priestley” and tweeted it at the actor himself.
.@jason_priestley, we loved the idea of ‘The Priestley’ so much, we made a batch. A Timbit IN a donut? Genius. #HIMYM twitter.com/TimHortons/sta…

Thanks! We were inspired! MT @jason_priestley: Thnx Tim Hortons! Proudest day of my life! A donut named after me at Timmie’s? #bestdayever

I hope the Priestley actually becomes a thing at all Tim Hortons locations because that is a gorgeous specimen (ahem, Dunkin’ Doughnuts) and I would definitely order a half dozen for myself, thank you very much.
For a while I was pretty obsessed with How I Met Your Mother but over the last couple seasons I’ve grown tired of all the fake-outs and drawn-out story lines. If the series was real and Ted was boring his children with the story of how he met their mom, they probably would left the couch ages ago for a bathroom break, bed or to have kids themselves (I’m pretty sure he’s been telling the story for YEARS).
If resident playboy Barney was telling the story it would have been over within minutes of the first episode. Here’s his synopsis of what you missed over the series, in 52 seconds, narrated by Barney. Ted, you can learn a lesson from Uncle Barney.

One user on Reddit pointed out the many similarities between popular ’90s sitcom “Friends” and the modern comedy “How I Met Your Mother”. Both shows center around a group of friends in their 30s living in New York City, but there’s more to it than that…

Our beloved television comedy stars Jason Segel (How I Met Your Mother) and Ed Helms (The Office) share the big screen for the upcoming indie film, Jeff, Who Lives At Home.
Directed by Jay and Mark Duplass who have received a lot of hype from their last film Cyrus with John C. Reilly, Jonah Hill and Marissa Tomei – but this could likely seal their mainstream success. It continues Duplass’ theme of family dysfunction with Segel as a naive mopey slacker named Jeff living in his mother’s basement searching for the meaning of life. He reconnects with his brother Pat (Helms) who soon discovers that his wife is having an affair – meanwhile, their mother (Susan Sarandon) is depressed. Holy dramedy, Batman!
It looks to be in the same vain as Helms’ Cedar Rapids or Segel’s Forgetting Sarah Marshall rather than their other efforts – it premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival to great reviews and is due in theatres nationwide on March 16th.
Six seasons later, the Slutty Pumpkin of Ted’s dreams on CBS’ How I Met Your Mother has been unmasked, it is none other then Mrs. Tom Cruise herself: Katie Holmes, reports NY Magazine.
On the show’s second season, Ted Moseby rifles through potential love interests like a trigger happy Romeo. One of the ladies was a seemingly fictional Slutty Pumpkin that Ted had met at a roof top Halloween party, but then lost touch with. Could this possibly be the long-awaited Mother? Unlikely, as he has been constantly referring to her as “Slutty” to his children.
Craig Thomas, the show’s co-creator, is psyched: “Katie is a lovely and talented actress, which is why we’ve saved for her perhaps the most classly named character in our show’s history,” he says, adding that the role was “literally six seasons in the making.”
Holmes has an interesting career spanning from Batman’s lover to First Lady Jackie Kennedy, from Dawson’s Creek to Adam Sandler’s wife.
This is going to be legendary.
Neil Patrick Harris will return as host for the upcoming Tony Awards, reports CTV.
Producers of the show announced Tuesday that the ‘How I Met Your Mother’ star and a stage veteran will take over for ‘Will & Grace’ actor Sean Hayes, who hosted last year.
The ceremony honouring Broadway’s best will be at the Beacon Theater in Manhattan’s Upper West Side, after several years at Radio City Music Hall. The awards will be handed out June 12 in a telecast aired on CBS.
“What could possibly go wrong?” Harris asked, joking the producers of the show had borrowed the rigging equipment from the troubled ‘Spider-Man’ musical.
Harris, 37, has starred in three Broadway productions, including ‘Assassins,’ ‘Proof,’ opposite Anne Heche, and as the exuberant master of ceremonies in ‘Cabaret.’
He also recently joined Stephen Colbert, Christina Hendricks and Patti LuPone in the New York Philharmonic’s production of ‘Company.’
Harris previously hosted the 2009 Emmy Awards the same year he hosted the Tonys. The last time Harris hosted the Tonys, the audience was up 19 per cent from the previous year.
Harris is a great choice. He’s funny, appeals to a large demographic, and knows his stuff when it comes to the theatre scene. Hopefully he does a better job than Anne Hathaway and James Franco at the Oscars.
Well, prepare yourselves to not find out who the mother of Ted’s kids is for another two years. It was confirmed Friday that How I Met Your Mother has closed deal to carry on until May 2013. That’s right fans… no Lemon Law here!
Between the series is more popular than ever (with ratings averaging 3.6 in the demo and 9.13 million viewers) and Sheen’s shenanigans leading an uncertain future of Two and a Half Men, CBS has decided to secure a 2-year deal to continue the adventures of Barney Stinson – I mean, Ted Moseby’s epic tale of how he met his wife. The deal has CBS paying in the range of $3.5 million per episode, which is almost double the existing deal of about $2 million per episode.
All five stars – Josh Radnor, Cobie Smulders, Jason Segel, Allison Hannigan and Neil Patrick Harris are contracted to the end of season eight. Segel has already made note that he will not be signing on for subsequent seasons, as his movie career is becoming priority.
Neil Patrick Harris reacted to the news via his Twitter account: “HIMYM picked up for 2 more years! Yahoo! With so much job security, I should buy something extravagant. Like a pony. Or some gold teeth!”
Britney Spears has been included on the official ballot as a possible nominee for an Emmy Award, reports OK! Magazine.
The pop-star made two guest appearances on CBS’s “How I Met Your Mother” and both performances received great reviews from critics.
Spears, however, is facing some competition and will be vying for the Emmy with 41 other actresses. Other possible Emmy nominees include Sarah Silverman for “Monk,” Mary-Kate Olsen for “Weeds,” Alyssa Milano for “My Name is Earl” and “Scrubs” star Sarah Chalke for guest-starring as Britney’s boss on “How I Met Your Mother.”
A short list of final nominees will be announced before the Emmy Awards ceremony in September.
Britney Spears will be making a return to “How I Met Your Mother.”
After many conflicting reports, some confirming and some denying, “The Insider” has received solid confirmation of Britney’s return.
Executive Producer Ciiag Thomas said, “We’re all so thrilled to have Britney joining us once again. And just to head it off at the pass this time around: ‘Yes, Mom, Britney’s very nice and no, I can’t get her autograph for you.’ ”
The first episode that Britney appeared in brought in HIMYM its highest ratings ever.
Production of the episode is currently ongoing, and it will air May 12.
