People are still getting adjusted to High Definition widescreen, including those who actually work on TV. It seems that 16:9 is much harder to deal with than 4:3.
Nobody knows this better than Houston news anchor Owen Conflenti. It seems that Mr. Conflenti flipped off his coworkers during a live broadcast, but did not consider it was a widescreen broadcast. Consequently, if you were watching in HD, you could see his middle finger aimed at his coworkers. If you were watching in SD, there wouldn’t be a problem.
Although many would consider this a huge travesty, his station KPRC have allowed him to keep his job. In fact, he has been dispatched to report on the Super Bowl in Dallas.
Dr. Conrad Murray is getting a little love thrown his way, reports TMZ. The doctor, who is accused of killing Michael Jackson is scheduled to appear at a hearing in L.A. in order to have a date set for a preliminary hearing.
Pastors from the Houston area (where Murray does charity medical work) are organizing a rally in support of the doctor. The rally will be held at the Galilee Missionary Baptist Church, located in a poor region of Houston.
TMZ says that United States Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee will be there, along with what could be around 1,000 people there to support Dr. Murray.
The original plan was to bus people to L.A. in order to counter protests by MJ fans.
R&B star BOBBY BROWN was fighting to save his marriage to WHITNEY HOUSTON right up to the point when she served him with divorce papers, according to the singer’s manager/friend Alicia Etheredge.
Etheredge, who has been romantically linked to the My Prerogative hitmaker since his marriage split, claims Brown never gave up on his marriage – and always felt he could repair the damage done by repeated prison stints, drug-taking allegations, child welfare controversies and public spats.
She says, “Bobby is like a romantic… I just know that he tried until he
didn’t have a choice, because even when I saw him at the hardest time, he was still hoping and believing that they were somehow gonna reconnect and get it together.”
Etheredge claims Houston and Brown were considering counselling to fix their broken marriage when the diva decided to end it.
She adds, “They were going to go to therapy or whatever and none of that
happened.”
But, despite the heartbreak, Brown isn’t giving up on marriage.
His manager reveals, “I think that Bobby is a big romantic and really does
believe in love.
“His parents are still married after all these years and I think that he will
find that again.”
Etheredge has denied reports she is engaged to Brown, insisting the pair are just long-time friends and business partners. (KL/STS/GES)

Ray J’s ex-girlfriend Kardashian showed up on the red carpet and posed for photos, but when reporters told her Ray J and Houston were inside, she decided against attending the party.

WHITNEY HOUSTON has asked a court to fast-track her divorce from BOBBY BROWN, according to court papers.
The singer filed for divorce in October, but papers obtained by CelebTV.com reveal Houston requested a default judgment on December 38, in a bid to speed up proceedings.
Documents show the 43-year-old ticked a box to reveal there “no issues of division of community property”.
Houston is seeking full custody of the couple’s 13-year-old daughter BOBBI KRISTINA, with Brown granted visitation rights.
The news comes just weeks after the diva was spotted socializing with R&B star RAY J – prompting rumours of a romance.
