Nicolas Cage’s Son Hospitalized After Altercation

Weston Cage, the 20-year-old son of actor Nicolas Cage, has been hospitalized after an altercation, reports E Online.

Cage was taken to a Los Angeles hospital for psychiatric evaluation after reportedly getting into a violent altercation in Hollywood yesterday.

TMZ claims that Cage went ballistic while lunching with his trainer after he told him he couldn’t eat something on the menu. He then became aggressive and reportedly shoved the trainer. Ugh, it’s tough lunching with your trainer, right? Don’t you hate that?

The trainer and another unidentified individual then tried to calm Cage down, but Weston raged on.

An LAPD spokeswoman says officers indeed responded to a call about a fight that had broken out near the Farmer’s Kitchen, where Weston was dining.

“We had numerous phone calls to respond to that incident. We responded and the person was taken to the hospital for minor injuries,” said the spokeswoman, refusing to confirm identities.

When cops arrived, Weston initially cooperated and was handcuffed, but he supposedly became violent again which lead them to strap him to a gurney. No arrests were made, but Cage is being evaluated.

This is the ridiculous too-much-money story of the day. I mean, really? Don’t you wish your biggest battles were over what your trainer tells you to eat?

Sean Kingston ‘Stabilized’ After Jet Ski Crash, Stars Send Support

Sean Kingston has been “stabilized” after a jet ski accident on Sunday, which landed him in the trauma ward of a Miami hospital.

The singer’s publicist, Joseph Carozza, released the following statement: “Sean Kingston is now stabilized and has moved from the trauma unit to ICU. Sean’s family thanks everyone for their prayers and support during this time.”

Kingston was rushed to Jackson Memorial Hospital yesterday after he and a female passenger crashed into the Palm Island Bridge around 6:00 p.m. EST. A boater rescued the pair from the water, and Miami Fire Rescue crews brought the singer and passenger to the hospital.

Kingston’s hospitalization has resulted in plenty of support by both his fans and fellow celebs on Twitter. The hashtag #prayforseankingston has been a top trending topic since news of the accident spread, while artists including Bieber, Rihanna, Nicki Minaj and Chris Brown have tweeted messages for the singer.

“Got my friend @seankingston in my prayers tonight,” wrote Bieber. “A true friend and big bro. Please keep him in your prayers tonight as well.”

Soulja Boy tweeted, “Praying for my brother @seankingston I hope he makes a full recovery.”

“Praying for my bro Sean Kingston,” wrote Brown, while Rihanna added, “Sean we praying for you baby.”

“My love and prayers are with Sean Kingston and his family,” wrote Minaj.

Get well soon, Kingston.

Dog the Bounty Hunter Hospitalized

Radar Online is reporting that Dog the Bounty Hunter, AKA Duane Chapman, arrived at UCLA medical centre this past Saturday with extreme leg pain, a common indicator of a blood clot behind the knee. The injury was suspected to be a by-product of (we’re not kidding) Dog kicking in too many doors on the job.

Upon close medical examination, it was determined that Dog’s muscle separated from the bone and caused massive internal bleeding at the site. Naturally, the injury had been worsening with time and had come to be too excruciating to bear.

Ew! We’re pretty sure you shouldn’t wait a week when you’re in that much pain! If medical science has taught us anything, it’s that pain is the body’s way of saying “something isn’t right here.” So, Dog, when your knee became unbearably swollen this weekend, we’re pretty sure your body was trying to say something along the lines of “SWEET WRATH OF ZEUS, SEEK MEDICAL ATTENTION BEFORE YOU DIE A TWISTED HORRIBLE DEATH.”

Thankfully, Dog was discharged after it was decided that he was not at risk for developing a clot. It’s probable that he will return to the hospital later this week to receive more treatment.

Let that be a lesson, kiddos! If you’re going to kick in doors for a living, respond accordingly when your kicking leg swells to the size of a small Eurasian nation.

Tennis Star Jennifer Capriati Hospitalized after Overdose

TMZ is reporting that former tennis start Jennifer Capriati was rushed to hospital this morning after an apparent overdose.

A call was made from a Riviera Beach, FL. hotel where paramedics found Capriati.

Jennifer was transported to a nearby hospital where she is presently recovering.

Them Crooked Vultures’ Dave Grohl Hospitalized Because of Coffee

Talk about Them Crooked addictions! Dave Grohl has confirmed that he was recently hospitalized because he drank way too much coffee, NME.com reports.

Them Crooked Vultures, Grohl’s new band with John Paul Jones and Josh Homme, recently posted a funny online video showing the addiction and explaining the overdose. Many fans believed that the video, titled “Dave Grohl in FRESH POTS!,” was all a joke – but Grohl has officially confirmed the hospitalization.

“We were in the studio making a record and I was drinking a lot of coffee,” Grohl told Absolute Radio last night (March 22) when Them Crooked Vultures played a Teenage Cancer Trust show at the London Royal Alberta Hall.

“I was doing Vultures stuff at night, Foo Fighters stuff during the day and I had a newborn at home so I was sleeping two-three hours a night on an air mattress in a guest bedroom,” Grohl said. “And yeah, I had too much coffee, I started to get chest pains so I went to the hospital and they told me to stop drinking coffee.”

The video is still worth a watch. The two-minute piece opens with Grohl yelling, “Fresh pots!” and then the words, “Dave Grohl’s coffee addiction spirals out of control” appear on the screen. It then goes on to show Grohl drinking cup after cup of coffee, shouting, “Fresh pots!” countless more times, and behaving in a way that one can only presume is due to his high intake of coffee. It’s hilarious.

At the end of the video, the screen goes black and the words, “Two weeks after this video was shot, Dave was rushed to doctor due to onset of unwanted physical effects caused by too much caffeine,” and then a new screen says, “For reals. He was kind of a mess,” and finally, “Since then, he has reduced his intake of the super delicious hot beverage to a healthier level.”

Tila Tequila Hospitalized

On Friday night Tila Tequila called 911 after she fell out of a chair. TMZ reports that Tequila told paramedics that she “dented” her head. Perhaps that dent will knock her brain back into place?

On Twitter Tila wrote to fans that she “slammed my head into the wall and heard the back of my skull crack. theres a dent in it now!” TMZ reports that she later tweeted that “Ambulance on the way to my house. I could have a brain concussion and die ina few hours.”

Artie Lange in Hospital

Artie Lange has been missing from The Howard Stern Radio Show since early December, and now it seems things are getting worse. E! Online reports that the radio comedian has been hospitalized in New Jersey for undisclosed reasons.

“We can confirm that Artie is in the hospital,” Lange’s camp said in a statement. “Artie has chosen to keep all information on this matter between him and his doctor. There will be no further comment.”

Lange has a long history of substance abuse problems. Let’s hope that 2010 is a healthier year for him.

Rush Limbaugh Says He’s OK

Rush Limbaugh held a press conference Friday afternoon to tell the world he is A-OK. The opinionated radio host experienced chest pains earlier this week in Hawaii and was immediately hospitalized. Rush has now returned back to his Hawaii hotel.

Although Limbaugh says he’s OK, TMZ is reporting that there still remains security situated outside his room just in case. Additionally Rush praised the hotel staff for their assistance when he first experienced discomfort.

Jane’s Addiction Forced To Cancel Australian Tour

Jane’s Addiction have cancelled an upcoming Australian tour due to the hospitalization of Stephen Perkins, the band’s drummer.

The 41-year-old band member has been admitted to Cedars-Sinai Hospital’s Infectious Disease Ward to receive treatment for an infection in his elbow, according to a press release issued by the group’s spokesperson.

“Doctors expect to keep him there for the next few days for further diagnosis and observation while anti-biotic treatment continues,” read the statement, which also said the drummer is expected to fully recover over the next couple of weeks.

The alternative rockers — who united with their original lineup in 2008 — are in the middle of a world tour, the first in 17 years. Their Australian tour was set to kick off on Saturday.

After Jane’s Addiction returned to Los Angeles from the European leg of their tour, Perkins noticed his elbow had swelled up.

Any Winehouse Faints, Hospitalized

Amy Winehouse was taken to the hospital after fainting in her home, reports Us Magazine.

“Amy was at home this afternoon when she briefly fainted,” her rep told the mag. “Fortunately, her manager’s assistant was there to stop her falling. She quickly recovered and her father Mitch took her to hospital as a precaution. Doctors are unsure of the cause of the incident and Amy is currently undergoing tests… [She] may be kept in [the hospital] overnight for observation.”

Winehouse has a history of drug abuse, and was in rehab in January. There is no word yet whether any illegal substances were involved in the fainting spell.

Jessica Simpson’s Weekend Hospital Stay

Jessica Simpson has quickly checked in and out of the hospital after suffering a kidney infection.

In Touch magazine reports that Simpson arrived at the hospital on Friday. According to her rep, “[Simpson] was hospitalized for a kidney infection, but she has been released and is doing fine.”

A source also told the mag that “She checked in on Friday morning because she was feeling achy and had a fever. She is so happy she is out and feeling great.”

Simpson was treated at the Cedars-Sinai Medical Center.

Mary-Kate Olsen Hospitalized

Mary-Kate Olsen was hospitalized yesterday for an apparent kidney infection.

The tiny 21-year-old twin is now in good condition. “Mary-Kate got a kidney infection,” her rep, Nicole Caruso, told People. “She’s resting comfortably and will be released in the next day or so.”

This is not the first time Olsen’s health has been an issue. In 2004 she sought help for an eating disorder.

She has recently been romantically linked to hockey player Sean Avery.
