Jane’s Addiction Forced To Cancel Australian Tour

Jane's AddictionJane’s Addiction have cancelled an upcoming Australian tour due to the hospitalization of Stephen Perkins, the band’s drummer.

The 41-year-old band member has been admitted to Cedars-Sinai Hospital’s Infectious Disease Ward to receive treatment for an infection in his elbow, according to a press release issued by the group’s spokesperson.

“Doctors expect to keep him there for the next few days for further diagnosis and observation while anti-biotic treatment continues,” read the statement, which also said the drummer is expected to fully recover over the next couple of weeks.

Any Winehouse Faints, Hospitalized

Amy Winehouse was taken to the hospital after fainting in her home, reports Us Magazine.

“Amy was at home this afternoon when she briefly fainted,” her rep told the mag. “Fortunately, her manager’s assistant was there to stop her falling. She quickly recovered and her father Mitch took her to hospital as a precaution. Doctors are unsure of the cause of the incident and Amy is currently undergoing tests… [She] may be kept in [the hospital] overnight for observation.”

Winehouse has a history of drug abuse, and was in rehab in January. There is no word yet whether any illegal substances were involved in the fainting spell.


Jessica Simpson’s Weekend Hospital Stay

Jessica Simpson has quickly checked in and out of the hospital after suffering a kidney infection.

In Touch magazine reports that Simpson arrived at the hospital on Friday. According to her rep, “[Simpson] was hospitalized for a kidney infection, but she has been released and is doing fine.”

A source also told the mag that “She checked in on Friday morning because she was feeling achy and had a fever. She is so happy she is out and feeling great.”

Simpson was treated at the Cedars-Sinai Medical Center.


Mary-Kate Olsen Hospitalized

Mary-Kate Olsen was hospitalized yesterday for an apparent kidney infection.

The tiny 21-year-old twin is now in good condition. “Mary-Kate got a kidney infection,” her rep, Nicole Caruso, told People. “She’s resting comfortably and will be released in the next day or so.”

This is not the first time Olsen’s health has been an issue. In 2004 she sought help for an eating disorder.

She has recently been romantically linked to hockey player Sean Avery.
