In a fascinating story through photo-gallery out of the Toronto Star last week, it seems winners of the Best Actress Oscar since the year 2000 have a disturbing track record for getting divorced shortly after.

The freshest in everyone’s minds would likely be Sandra Bullock and her public fiasco with Jesse James, but a quick stroll through this gallery will send chills down your spine and remind you that Halle Berry, Hilary Swank and others all split from their husbands shortly after taking home the statue.

Hilary Swank, Jeffrey Dean Morgan Back Together For Thriller

Jeffrey Dean Morgan, who starred opposite Hilary Swank in “P.S. I Love You,” will reunite with his co-star for the upcoming thriller “The Resident.”

The movie will follow a young doctor (Swank) as she moves into a loft in Brooklyn, where she is soon plagued by mysterious events that lead her to believe she is not alone in her new home.

Morgan will play the doctor’s seemingly charming landlord who may have a sinister side.

Ironically, the two played love interests in the 2007 romantic comedy “P.S. I Love You.”

“The Resident” will be the feature debut of Antti J. Jokinen, who has directed music videos for Will Smith, Beyonce and Shania Twain.

Swank stars in two upcoming movies, the Amelia Earhart biopic “Amelia” and the legal drama “Betty Anne Waters.”

Morgan has had recurring roles in such TV series as “Grey’s Anatomy” and “Supernatural” and will next appear as The Comedian in “Watchmen.”

Hilary Swank will fight for courtroom justice in the upcoming drama “Betty Anne Waters.”

The two-time Oscar-winner has signed on to star as the titular character in the Omega Entertainment movie, which is based on a true story.

Swank will play a single mother who works her way through law school in order to prove that her brother was wrongfully convicted of murder.

Directing will be actor-director Tony Goldwyn, who previously helmed “The Last Kiss” and has appeared in such movies as “Ghost,” “Nixon” and “The Last Samurai.”

Goldwyn has been attached to this latest project for seven years and recently spoke to Variety about his lead actress.

“There is a spirit and indomitability that Hilary brings that is a strong match for this character’s fierce commitment,” he said.

The movie, on which Swank is also serving as executive producer, will begin shooting in Michigan in January.

Swank most recently starred opposite Gerard Butler in “P.S., I Love You” and just finished shooting “Amelia,” in which she plays legendary pilot Amelia Earhart.

Any fan of the movie “300″ will register a degree of shock at the sight of the great Spartan King Leonidas (Gerard Butler) donning the cap of a funny and impetuous Irishman in “P.S. I Love You.” Nonetheless, this character transition is just as equally -and believably – pulled off by “Million Dollar Baby’s” Maggie Fitzgerald (Hilary Swank), as a mercurial and distraught widow. It is a testament to the acting abilities of Butler and Swank to have so successfully executed the roles of Gerry and Holly Kennedy. Indeed, it is the reason why “P.S. I Love You” really hits the mark.

The movie is about two people living in New York who are very much in love, yet still experience the difficulties associated with life’s monotonies. After a brain tumor claims Gerry’s life, Holly is devastated by her loss and left without the only person who can help her overcome her grief. However, just before he died, Gerry wrote her a series of letters to not only guide her through her grief, but also to help Holly rediscover herself so that she can eventually learn to once again celebrate life. In the weeks and months that follow, more letters from Gerry are delivered in surprising ways, each sending her on a new adventure and each signing off in the same way: P.S. I Love You.

In addition to Butler and Swank, the movie receives strong performances from a talented supporting cast: Lisa Kudrow, Gina Gershon, Harry Connick, Jr., Jeffrey Dean Morgan and Academy Award winner Kathy Bates. Bates’ role, as Holly’s mother, was especially well-performed, capturing the palpable tension exposed by the mother-daughter relationship, as well as the closeness that eventually follows.

Though the plot shares many features of a typical love story—the romantic chance encounter that plays out as ‘love at first sight’, the fights full of passion and disagreement and the forgiving, loving make-ups—the concept of having Gerry communicate to Holly through posthumous letters is anything but typical. His letters reflect the care and compassion that Gerry had for Holly, and even though he knew he would soon have to leave her, he was already making preparations to help her cope with his passing. It was his love of life, his passion for life’s beauty, that he wanted to leave with Holly; the idea that love is undying and possibly even transcends life on earth.

“P.S. I Love You” has obvious appeal to the more emotive viewer, but that is not to say that someone more macho would find its message easy to ignore. We must always cherish what we hold dear, and never let a moment slip by without living it to the fullest. Real love is eternal; but even then, sometimes eternity is not enough.

Hilary Swank Takes 45 Supplement Pills Per Day

In an interview with “W” magazine, Hilary Swank walked through her daily health regime of 45 different supplement pills.

The pills included BrainWave, which Swank said is “great, like if I have a lot of lines to memorise.” She also noted that she was once too enthusiastic about taking the pills. “I shoved them in my mouth right before I met you, which I actually shouldn’t do, because I choked on my vitamins once before.”

The actress also loves to work out as part of her regime. “I think it gives me more energy,” she said. “I would rather sleep six hours and get an hour workout than sleep seven hours.

“In the past four and a half weeks, I’ve been to London, Texas, Chicago, China, New York, L.A. and New York again.

“You know, it’s tiring, but I can’t complain, because I’m getting to do what I love.”
