Katherine Heigl’s ‘Izzie’ Won’t Have a Brain Tumour

Despite rumours that Katherine Heigl’s character Izzie Stevens will have a brain tumour in the upcoming season of “Grey’s Anatomy,” executive producer Shona Rhimes says the news is not true.

According to E! News, Rhimes says that although Izzie won’t undergo any personal medical crisis, “interesting sparks” will fly between Alex and Izzie – following their season finale hook-up.

But will other fan favourites Meredith and McDreamy finally settle down?

Not quite yet. “It’s really exciting to see what’s going to come next and how [Meredith's] going to deal with living with a boy, and all the things a man like Derek, who has been married and is a grown-up, might expect,” says Rhimes.

Rhimes continues to say that a new romance fans should keep their eyes on is Callie and Erica’s. “They are definitely on a journey, and it’s going to be a really interesting one…also both actresses are so game; they’re so willing to do something.”

Heigl Hopeful Grey’s Anatomy Cast Can Return To Normal

GREY’S ANATOMY star KATHERINE HEIGL is confident the cast of the hit series can move forward after the controversy surrounding co-star ISAIAH WASHINGTON.

Washington made headlines after using an anti-gay slur towards co-star TR KNIGHT and subsequently checked into rehab for treatment. Heigl claims the cast usually gets along well and that the set felt “like work as usual” now that Washington has returned.

The star, who has been a staunch supporter of her friend and castmate Knight, believes the appropriate measures were taken under the circumstances.

She adds, “If it were ignored or just brushed under the rug, I would be angrier about it. But he’s trying very hard. We’re all trying very hard.

“I, obviously, have been very verbal about all of this, but there isn’t a lot going on right now. We’re all hopeful.”
