It was only a couple weeks ago that Madonna made controversial comments about MDMA at her concert to young fans, so it’s kind of ironic that she’d be angry at her 15-year-old daughter Lourdes for smoking a cigarette.
The teen’s rebellious moment was naturally caught on camera since she’s followed practically everywhere and quickly went viral.
“[I] wasn’t very happy,” Madonna said in an interview with Rock Center’s Harry Smith. “Honestly, I don’t think I’m as tough as I should be. I think I need to be maybe tougher.”
Madonna has a right to be angry since smoking is a dirty habit but at the same time, the Material Girl smokes in her new video for Girl Gone Wild. Still, she insists her daughter didn’t pick up the habit from her. ”I don’t smoke, that’s just an accessory. There’s a difference. She smoked that cigarette before I did that video. She didn’t get that for me.”
I’m sure she doesn’t smoke since the lady looks fab at 53 but she’s still a role model for millions of young girls, especially her own daughter.
