Rupert Grint is taking it easy after the Harry Potter franchise, and he’s spending time trying to find his next role.

He tells the Mirror, “I have not been in too much of a rush to do anything really. It has been nice to catch up on a few things and have a bit of freedom. I did a film earlier this year called Comrade, a Second World War movie set in Norway – that was pretty cool. Apart from that I have just been relaxing.”

However, Rupert is spending some time giving back. Just Jared Jr. reports,

“Rupert joined the fam, who lost their mother a few years ago, at the Wizarding World of Harry Potter earlier last month, where they enjoyed a few Butterbeers at Hog’s Head, and accompanied them to Ollivander’s wand shop at Hogsmeade. The special was a part of ITV’s 2011 Noel’s Christmas Presents special.”

Yet another example of why red heads are not necessarily evil.

Now, we’re back with more amazing mash-ups. This time around, the 166 best films of the year are scrambled together in a 7 minute video, as seen on Gossip Cop.

Titled “The 2011 Portofolio”, some of the films featured includes “Drive” with Ryan Gosling, “Harry Potter”, “Kung Fu Panda 2″, “Melancholia” with Kristen Dunst and “Like Crazy”.

In just 7:44 minutes, 166 films are shown, 6 songs are played and the whole thing took 30 some odd days to put together. The way the mash-up plays out makes me want to see each individual movie right now. Sorry Beliebers, but Justin’s “Never Say Never” flick was snubbed from this playlist.

If you’re a major Harry Potterhead, you have one last chance to see him and his wizardly friends on Blu Ray. A deleted scene starring Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint and Emma Watson can be found in the final Harry Potter DVD.

The scene involves the charming trio breaking into Bellatrix Lestrange’s vault and finding a strand of her hair.

When the final Harry Potter film, “The Deathly Hallows II”, came out this past summer, it drew in a billion dollars world wide. Now that we know the Blu Ray DVDs contain a ton of bonus features, like this deleted scene, sales will definitely go through the roof.

Harry Potter keeps breaking records, and now it has taken the top spot of the most important box office record. Harry Potter has officially overtaken Star Wars as the top grossing franchise in domestic box office history.

Harry Potter has grossed $2.223 Billion throughout the entire franchise, compared to Star Wars’ $2.217 Billion, reports EW. These are the only two movie franchises in history to surpass $2 Billion.

However, Star Wars continues to be the most viewed movie franchise in history, which has sold twice as many tickets at the box office. Because of inflation, Harry Potter earned the top spot for ticket sales.

We don’t mean to make fun, but Harry Potter has a drinking problem. Good on him for recognizing the problem, but we figured Harry would have some magical powers to save him. Apparently not.

Daniel Radcliffe (who of course plays Harry Potter) told People that he has been sober since August 2010, but he was developing a serious problem.

“I became so reliant on [alcohol] to enjoy stuff,” he said. “There were a few years there when I was just so enamored with the idea of living some sort of famous person’s lifestyle that really isn’t suited to me.”

So how did his addiction stay out of the public view?

“I really got away with that because there were so many instances when a paparazzi shot like that could have been taken,” he explained regarding his visibly intoxicated bouts.

‘Harry Potter’ author J.K. Rowling has launched a mysterious new website, reports CTV.

The site, pottermore.com, offers nothing more than a signed message from the author saying “Coming soon…” and two owls on each side.

Spokeswoman Rebecca Salt confirmed that the site is indeed a new project for Rowling, but says it is “not a new book” and “not directly related” to the final movie, “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2,” which comes out next month.

Salt says they “aren’t saying any more than that!”

Very mysterious indeed. Obviously, the site is somewhat related to ‘Harry Potter’ because of the owls and timely launch of the site. Why would she release it now, on the verge of the final film? Guess we’ll have to wait and see.

Well, if that isn’t a cover, I don’t know what is.

Emma Watson looks stunning on Vogue’s July cover next month. She’s one of the few that can pull off the short hair look, and is definitely rocking it here. It’s a fresh change from Vogue’s usual boring covers – it’s risky, it’s eye-catching, and it’s unique.

In the magazine, the actress reveals that James Franco and Daniel Radcliffe have both been huge supporters in times of trouble.

Franco was apparently a huge help on how to get an education while maintaing a career as an actor.

“It was such a relief to speak to someone who is trying to do the same thing I’m doing,” she told the magazine. “I talked to him about juggling studying and making films and going backward and forward. He’s not afraid or limited by what he fears people will say about it.”

Meanwhile, Radcliffe was apparently playing Cupid to her recent flames.

“We would help each other with relationship advice,” Radcliffe says. “Particularly funny were the moments when we would help each other compose texts to the most recent flames in either of our lives (not too flirty, but not too subtle either!).”

“It was certainly a case of the blind leading the blind, but it was extremely funny.”

Watson is a true class act, and she looks gorgeous here. Well done, Vogue.

‘Harry Potter’ star Emma Watson is enrolling at Oxford University, reports CTV.

After quitting Brown University in April, the actress will now study English at the prestigious British university in October.

Watson said she found it difficult trying to juggle filming, modelling and studying at Brown.

“Recently I’ve had so much to juggle that being a student AND fulfilling my other commitments has become a little impossible,” says Brown. ”I’ve decided to take a bit of time off to completely finish my work on ‘Harry Potter’ and to focus on my other projects.”

Now that she has a little more free time since ‘Potter’ filming is done, Brown can focus more on her studies. Since she has lived in Oxfordshire practically her whole life, she will probably find it much easier to attend Oxford as well.

Watson said she underestimated how famous she was at Brown, saying “I was in denial. I wanted to pretend I wasn’t as famous as I was. I was trying to seek out normality, but I kind of have to accept who I am, the position I’m in and what happened.”

Good for her for sticking with school, though. I can imagine how difficult it must be with a full-time career, but she seems smart enough to pull it off.

Daniel Radcliffe is set to perform at the Tony Awards this year, reports CTV.

If you’re anxious to see the ‘Harry Potter’ star sing and dance, be sure to tune in at the beginning of the show on Sunday, as he is slated for an early performance.

Says Radcliffe: “I think we’re one of the first, if not the first.” Yikes, he better set the bar high then!

Radcliffe will be performing the song ‘Brotherhood of Man’ from his current Broadway show ‘How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying.’

The actor unfortunately did not receive a Tony nomination, but fellow co-stars John Larroquette and Tammy Blanchard are up for awards.

“If John won it would be just amazing,” he says. “Only because I have a lot of scenes with him.”

Radcliffe last starred in the play ‘Equus,’ where he received major buzz due to his full-frontal nude scenes.

I’m excited to see this side of him. We all know he can act, but the question is, can he sing a dance as well? Is he a triple threat?

‘Harry Potter’ star Daniel Radcliffe is the richest actor under 30, reports CTV.

The actor, who recently finished filming his run of ‘Potter’ films, made £28.5 million ($45 million) in 2009-10, pushing his net worth to about £48 million ($75 million).

The 21-year-old is not the only ‘Harry Potter’ actor to appear in The Sunday Times Rich List of young people. Emma Watson comes in at 13 with earnings of £2 million, pushing her total up to £22 million, joint with Rupert Grint.

Radcliffe is now currently appearing in the Broadway musical ‘How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying.’

Other stars who made the list include ‘Twilight’ star Robert Pattinson, who came in at number nine worth a total of £32 million, narrowly beating Keira Knightley, whose net work is £30 million – putting her at number 10.

Princes William and Harry came in one place after Keira thanks to their inheritance from their late mother Diana and land owning. Wow, the thought of royalty being worth less than a vampire in a really bad movie frightens me.

The trailer for the final installment of the Harry Potter series has been released and all I’ve got to say is: EPIC.

The much-anticipated motion picture, “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows- Part 2″, is the second of two full-length parts.  In the finale, the battle between the good and evil forces of the wizarding world goes out in full force in an all-out war.

Though we all know how it ends (or do we?), one can’t help but feel excited for the film!!

The film is out in theaters July 15.

The magic is about to get a whole lot more real.

Producers of the hit franchise ‘Harry Potter’ are planning on releasing ‘Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part 1′ in 3D for a Blu-ray release. Funny, because just last year, the producers ditched plans to release it in 3D in theaters. Change of heart, I guess.

But it doesn’t stop there. The rest of the franchise may get the 3D treatment too. “We’re doing 3-D for the DVD of ’7, Part 1,’ and there’s been no discussion of anything else yet,” producer David Heyman told MTV News recently. “But I suspect the studio is going to be reluctant to let it die, and if there’s an opportunity to maybe enrich … ”

Back in March 2010, Heyman also said “I’m sure it’s just a matter of time” regarding the 3D conversion of the entire series. Looks like he’s a man of his word.

For now, though, the filmmakers are racing to finish “Deathly Hallows, Part 2″ before the July release and working on the conversion of the first part for the Blu-ray.

“We’re very pleased with the way ‘Part 1′ is going – the 3-D for the Blu-ray,” producer David Barron said. “It’s really exciting, really involved.”

“I was surprised at how wonderful it is. It is different in some ways [than the theatrical release], but it’s enriching,” said Heyman. “The quality is quite different… It’s much easier, in a way, to do 3-D for a smaller screen than it is for a bigger screen.”

And there you have it. I personally don’t get the whole 3D trend, it gives me a headache, but if others love it then power to them.

Twilight and Harry Potter fans around the world unite – it’s a wizard and vampire match made in heaven!

Ginny Weasley and Caius/Gellert Grindelwald…we mean, Bonnie Wright and Harry Potter and the Deathly Hollows co-star Jamie Campbell Bower…have decided to make their love official by announcing that they are…wait for it…engaged!

Although the engagement might seem premature considering the stars’ ages – Wright is only 19 and Campbell Bower is 21 – we are extremely happy for the couple who seem to be genuinely happy!

‘We are all absolutely shocked and surprised and can’t believe that Jamie has asked Bonnie to marry him,” a source said, according to Perez Hilton. “They met on the set of the movie and Jamie fell for Bonnie really badly. He says they are completely in love. It all seems very whirlwind, but they both say it’s the real deal. All he has told us is that he asked her to marry him and Bonnie said yes. He is chuffed to bits and neither of them seem to have any doubts that they are rushing in too soon. We have asked them if it is for real and they have said yes. They are both very professional, so when they are filming, there is no smooching or playing around. Also they are not really in the same scenes. Jamie is often on the set just to watch Bonnie and spend time with her between takes.’”

After denying rumours that the two were dating back in October, Wright confessed to Ok!, “Yes, we’re dating. We’ve been seeing each other for a few months, it’s good. We’re going to the BAFTAs together on Sunday.”

According to Perez Hilton, Wright refused to release any details of the wedding plans as of yet, but has admitted that she and her hubby-to-be are having a “wonderful, wonderful” time together. How wonderful! We could not be more excited for the happy couple, and wish them the all the best!

While Daniel Radcliffe’s acting career continues to flourish on Broadway in “How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying”, the Harry Potter star is set to star in a period-thriller film called “The Woman in Black”.

With the release of the film’s trailer, Radcliffe stars as a young lawyer who travels to a remote village on business and finds himself in the sights of the ghost of a scorned woman with vengeance on her mind.

The British thriller, directed by James Watkins, is set to be Radcliffe’s first film after the Harry Potter series.  The film is planned to hit American theaters sometime in the fall.

The last installment of the Harry Potter film series,”Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows:  Part 2″, will be released nationwide on July 15.

Seeing from the trailer, I think it’s wonderful that Radcliffe is taking risks in his roles.  Showing that he has the versatility to play different roles, perhaps Radcliffe can prove to audiences that he’s more than just “the guy who played Harry Potter.”

Oh my Voldemort! It looks like the newest installment in the Harry Potter movie franchise, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1, has a stranglehold on the weekend’s box office digits.

Popeater is reporting that The Boy Who Lived generated 125.1 million dollars in domestic ticket sales, up from the previous installment’s 77.8 million dollar opener. Deathly Hallows made a record 24 million in midnight screenings alone.

When asked about the secret of success in the HP franchise, Warner Brothers rep Dan Fellman said “We have been able to keep our fan base as the characters have aged and the movies have become darker. And the three main actors have become really terrific, adult actors.”

It’s true! Harry’s put a spell on us.

Tom Felton, known for his sassy portrayal of Draco Malfoy in the Harry Potter movie franchise, is going to start a music career, reports CHARTattack.com.

The FeltBeats website recently announced that the 22-year-old blonde beauty has signed a record deal with independent label Six Strings.

The label confirmed the rumours on Twitter, tweeting on Thursday (July 15): “Tom Felton has signed and the album is very much on its way.”

Felton has already put out a few EPs and YouTube videos of his performances, so this record label will not actually be the first time we hear him musically. Still, he has admitted that he originally started making music as a joke.
