FINALLY we’ve found something to use our purchased-but-never-used Hannah Montana body sprays for. Coon repellent!!
After announcing their split last year, Billy Ray Cyrus is now claiming that he and his wife Trish have decided to reconcile, MTV News reports.
“I dropped the divorce,” Miley Cyrus’ dad told “The View” hosts during a pre-taped appearance that aired on Friday. ”I wanted to put my family back together.”
Cyrus was on the show to promote his new album, I’m an American, out in June. He claimed his family are working out their problems. Which is good, because Billy Ray and Trish have been married for 17 years. Counts for something.
“Communication I think is one of the biggest problems that we as human beings have in this whole world,” he said. “And I think for the first time me and my entire family are finally communicating with each other in a way that, it’s been quite some time … and to answer your question, things are really the best they’ve ever been.”
Cyrus also retracted the controversial statements he made in a GQ interview, in which he said that his and Miley’s hit Disney series “Hannah Montana” destroyed his family. ”I feel like I kind of got my Miley back in a way,” he said. “I feel like we are the daddy and the daughter that we were before ‘Hannah Montana’ happened. I love ‘Hannah Montana.’ I love Disney. That didn’t tear my family apart.”
I’ve never been a fan of fathers who discuss every detail of their personal lives with the media. I mean, Michael Lohan anyone? That being said, though, I am glad Billy Ray is talking about these issues. I’m glad he’s moving forward in a positive way and genuinely taking back all the negative things he’s said in the past.
After a tough year, including the flak he’s gotten for the GQ interview and Miley’s salvia controversy, I’m really rooting for this family to get back on their feet. If not, it’ll break my “Achy Breaky Heart!”
Sorry, I had to.
The lamest TV dad in the world (sorry Danny Tanner), Billy Ray Cyrus, has decided that he and Miley’s mother, Tish, should try and work things out.
Billy Ray appeared on The View this morning and told the clucking hen club about how the past few weeks have really changed his view on things, especially his relationship with his wife Tish. Somewhat surprising considering “the past few weeks” when he went on a public rant about how the Hannah Montana show ruined his life, his marriage and his family.
Nevertheless, Billy said the following on the show this morning:
“I’ve dropped the divorce. I want to put my family back together … Things are the best they’ve ever been. I feel like I got my Miley back in a way. I feel like we are the daddy and daughter that we were before Hannah Montana happened.”
Really, Billy? And you decided to announce this on a show that airs at noon? For the housewife demographic?
I give him two years before he’s sitting beside Snooki on Celebrity Rehab. Just sayin.
Billy Ray Cyrus, father of Miley Cyrus, spoke to GQ Magazine where he says the show “Hannah Montana” destroyed his family, and ruined his relationship with Miley.
Billy tells GQ that Miley’s handlers interfered with his relationship with his daughter, and prevented him from being a proper parent.
Billy says he hasn’t spoken to Miley since the bong video surfaced and states, “I’m scared for her. She’s got a lot of people around her that’s putting her in a great deal of danger.”
Billy says he wishes “Hannah” had never happened — saying, “I’d take it back in a second. For my family to be here and just be everybody okay, safe and sound and happy and normal.”
Billy also compares Miley to Anna Nicole Smith — saying, “You could see that train wreck coming.”
This is what happens when you put your kid in show business. They turn into drug addicts and you turn insane.
Set your PVR for March 5 because that’s when Miley Cyrus is hosting SNL, reports PEOPLE.
This is somewhat ironic considering SNL regularly parodies the young actress. However, don’t expect Miley to show off her musical talents as she will not be the musical guest.
And the big question remains: Will Cyrus appear on The Miley Cyrus Show, a sketch where SNL castmate Vanessa Bayer parodies the young star? We will wait and see.
In case you haven’t seen this sketch before, see below (sorry for the poor video quality):
Miley Cyrus hasn’t won any friends with parents as her newest music video is causing quite a stir. The video for “Who Owns My Heart” has angered the Parents Television Council, saying its too sexual.
“It is unfortunate that she would participate in such a sexualized video like this one,” Tim Winter, the president of PTC, told TMZ.
“It sends messages to her fan base that are diametrically opposed to everything she has done up to this point. Miley built her fame and fortune entirely on the backs of young girls, and it saddens us that she seems so eager to distance herself from that fan base so rapidly,” Winter added.
Either way, this controversy is just creating more buzz around Miley and the video. What do you think? Is this video inappropriate for a seventeen year old girl or just a sign of the times?

Emily Osment is most commonly associated with the Hanna Montana franchise and in most cases it works to her advantage. As a recording artist, however, the stigma of being attached to such a massive corporation is hard to shake. Rather than disrobing and singing the usual pop-star cliches, Emily has yet again proved she can hold her own with out the help of Mickey Mouse. In this interview, miss Osment explains how she managed to grow out of her teenage roots as an artist with out alienating her audience.
For those of you under 20 years of age, there used to be these crazy things called VHS and Vinyl. VHS were these tapes that played movies and all sorts of video, in machines hooked up to your TV. Vinyl were these big discs which contained music that you played on something called a record machine. Sadly as Emily told Jordan, her newest projects, Hannah Montana The Movie will not be available on VHS and her newest album will not be available on Vinyl. Ah well.
It’s not just for boys or the Japanese anymore. Sony Computer Entertainment America has announced a new Limited Edition Hannah Montana PSP Entertainment Pack. Similar to the Madden and Daxter packs that came before it, the Hannah Montana kit will include: a copy of Disney Interactive’s Hannah Montana: Rock Out The Show video game, three episodes of the tv show on UMD, a 2GB Memory Stick Pro DUO and, of course, a lilac-coloured PSP-3000.
Gamers can customize their PSP with fashionable vinyl stickers also included. “The new Limited
Edition Hannah Montana PSP Entertainment Pack plays a central role in SCEA’s larger ‘Girlz Play Too’ initiative and we’re committed to bringing a steady stream of female-friendly content to consumers,” says John Koller, the company’s Director of Hardware Marketing. “While SCEA has a broad range of PSP owners from under 12 to over 45 years old, we saw a tremendous opportunity for us to connect with the female and ‘tween’ demographic and create a PSP system that girls will love.” Sony has certainly been throwing a lot of support at the PSP lately. Some gamers can look forward to portable entries from Ubisoft’s Petz and LittleBigPlanet, while others await the new Assassin’s Creed and Soulcalibur games.
The Hannah Montana Pack has an MSRP of $199.99 and is out now.
Miley Cyrus was granted a temporary restraining order Thursday from Mark McLeod, reports Perez Hilton. McLeod has been arrested several times for stalking the Disney star.
According to the order, McLeod “shall not harass, threaten, molest, contact or attempt to contact, or in any other manner interfere with Cyrus, any member of her family, her friends, and fellow employees.”
McLeod has claimed to be receiving secret messages from Cyrus, 16, through her character Hannah Montana.
Miley Cyrus has landed herself a deal with Wal-Mart for a clothing line produced with designer Max Azria (Hervé Léger, BCBG and Max Azria).
The “Miley Cyrus & Max Azria” label is set to include everything from pants to tops to graphic tees, shoes and accessories — all under $20 — according to E! Online.
Wal-Mart is also sponsoring Cyrus’ Live in Concert tour that kicks off in Portland Sept. 14, finishing in Miami after 45 stops.
Miley Cyrus’ Hannah Montana: The Movie jumped out to a big lead at the box office and never looked back on this competitive holiday weekend. The Disney Channel adaptation took first place with a hefty, better-than-anticipated $34 million gross, according to early estimates from Media By Numbers.
According to ew.com, that total exceeds the $31.1 mil that Hannah Montana & Miley Cyrus: Best of Both Worlds Concert opened with a year ago (although this film played in many more theaters), and it amounts to one of the top April debuts ever. Among live-action G-rated fare, this premiere ranks second all time, behind the $42 mil that High School Musical 3: Senior Year banked on its first weekend about six months ago.
Season 7 “American Idol” runner-up David Archuleta is set to appear Disney’s “Hannah Montana.”
The singer has already filmed his guest appearance and admits on his blog that he was nervous to appear on the hit show. “It was another thing I was really nervous about and wasn’t really sure about at first,” Archuleta said of the experience of filming the show.
Billy Ray Cyrus, father of “Hannah Montana” star Miley Cyrus, said in an interview with “Access Hollywood” that Malia Obama, 10, and Sasha Obama, 7, have been invited to appear on an episode of the Disney Channel show.
“You know the ‘Hannah Montana’ film comes out in April. Maybe something might happen around then.” Cyrus said to Access hollywood, according to MTV News.
“I think that would be really cool, and if anything, [we would] have them visit the set,” said Miley Cyrus to ‘Access Hollywood’ when asked about the possible appearance of the first daughters on ‘Hannah montana.’
“They are kind of like me before I started my own career,” Cyrus adds. “[They] are kind of put in it because their dad … so I would want it to be normal, and they could come hang out on the set with normal girls. I think that would be fun for them.”
“Hannah Montana: The Movie” is set to release on April 10, 2009 in the U.S. In the film, Miley Stewart Miley Cyrus) and her father, played by her real-life dad Billy Ray Cyrus, take a trip to their homeland of Crowley Corners, Tennessee.
This is the sound of a million 15-year-old hearts breaking: Miley Cyrus may be ready to leave her Hannah Montana role in the dust.
“We’re thinking this is our last season,” Cyrus told Yahoo news.
Production on the new season begins in early August, with an option to continue the show. However, Cyrus may feel the role is exhausted – and exhausting.
“I just think we did a lot of episodes,” she said. “We basically did two seasons in one last year. Usually people would do one season that would be, like, 16 episodes, and we did almost 30 episodes! It seems like it’s been on, like, longer.”
Cyrus has been desperately trying to shake her good girl image and develop an older audience.
Disney Star Miley Cyrus sometimes longs to live a “normal life” shopping with girlfriends and going to high school, but the singer also realizes the lifestyle might not be for her, reports People magazine.
“Sometimes I’m like, ‘Oh, I want to go to the mall,’” Cyrus told Robin Roberts in an interview airing Tuesday on ‘Good Morning America’. “I’m thinking, ‘I’m totally gonna be fine and be able to shop around.’ It’s, like, okay, not a normal teenager, you know.”
Despite the success, the star of the hit TV show “Hannah Montana” says she feels like a normal teen when she’s away from the public eye.
”Then, when I go out and about, I’m like, ‘Okay, like I’m not in this normal life,’” Cyrus said. “It’s not a normal world.”
However the 15-year-old singer prefers her not-so-normal world.
“I don’t know if I could go back to, like, a normal life. I think it would be too hard,” she said.
Buddy Sheffield wants a piece of the money pie from the hit TV show “Hannah Montana.”
Sheffield is claiming that the Disney Channel stole his idea for a sitcom about a normal kid who moonlights as a pop star, and turned the show into the successful series “Hannah Montana,” starring teen star Miley Cyrus.
The writer sued ABC Cable Networks Group back in August for breach of implied contract, breach of confidentiality and other unfair competition and unjust enrichment while the network has failed to provide documents detailing the proceeds from all the aspects of the Hannah Montana marketing brand.
If both sides fail to settle their differences in meditation, a trial has been set for late August.
Teen superstar Miley Cyrus will be making music with—no joke—John Travolta.
“Johnny may sing with Miley,” said Travolta’s wife Kelly Preston at a Step Up Women’s Network’s Inspiration Awards luncheon at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel.
Travolta’s daughter, Ella, is a long-time Cyrus fan. Both met the “Hannah Montana” star two years ago when Cyrus opened for Cheetah Girls during their concert tour.
“We [now] know Miley very well,” Preston said, “and she’s a sweetheart.”
Travolta and Cyrus will be voicing characters in the upcoming animated movie “Bolt,” scheduled to come to theatres in November 2008.
