In the world of celebrity news, there’s no shortage of Hits and Misses. This week, Angelina Jolie undergoes preventative double mastectomy procedure and Chris Brown is scaring the neighbourhood kids with his terrible art.
HIT: Angelina Jolie undergoes double mastectomy to lower her chances of getting cancer
She’s a heroine on and off screen! After discovering she had an 87% risk of breast cancer and a 50% risk of developing ovarian cancer, Angelina Jolie underwent a double mastectomy to reduce her chances of developing either. In an Op-Ed she wrote for the New York Times she wrote, “I want to encourage every woman, especially if you have a family history of breast or ovarian cancer, to seek out the information and medical experts who can help you through this aspect of your life, and to make your own informed choices.” Brad Pitt, of course, was beside her every step of the way saying that she is “absolutely heroic.”
MISS: Chris Brown scares the neighborhood kids with his crappy art
He can sing, he can dance, but Chris Brown CANNOT paint. The “celebrity” painted fang-bearing goblins outside of his Hollywood Hills home which are scaring the neighbourhood kids. As such, the “bad boy” has been ordered to take down the images within 30 days or else face a fine. While the $376 (USD) fine probably is chump change to him, do you think he’ll take them down out of respect? “”There are scarier creatures on Harry Potter,” he tweeted. “Get a … life!” So, no.
HIT: Gwyneth Paltrow (tries) to cover her tracks, says she was thrilled to be at the MET Ball
By Shazia Hassam
In the world of celebrity news, there’s no shortage of hits and misses. This week, Kim Kardashian looks like a couch at the MET Gala and Miley Cyrus is Maxim’s favourite beautiful lady (not their wording but we’re trying to stay classy. Key word: trying).
MISS: Whatever Kim Kardashian wore the MET Gala
This Kardashian, who is well-known around the world for her, um, reality show and is also a self-proclaimed trend-setter. Unfortunately, my zero desire to buy floral dresses that look like my grandma’s couch hasn’t changed especially after seeing her at Monday’s MET Gala. The worst part? Kanye didn’t seem to mind it! Come on Kim, we know you can do better…
HIT: Miley Cyrus is #1 on Maxim’s Hot 100
Twenty-year-old Miley Cyrus used her Twitter account to let the world know that she received the number one spot on Maxim magazine’s Hot 100 list. She tweeted “Didn’t know this was coming out yet! I’m so happy to be #1 on Maxims HOT 100! #myfanskickass #dreamsdocometrue.” And to the joy of Miley fans around the globe, she tweeted: “I was bored. So I got Instagram.”
MISS: Gwyneth Paltrow is a wet rag at the MET Gala
Gwyneth Paltrow, told USA Today, “I’m never going again, it was so un-fun.” Apparently, the Iron Man star said fashion’s version of the Oscars red carpet was “too crowded” and “boiling.” And this is why people like Gwyneth Paltrow as much as they like Anne Hathaway—which isn’t saying much for her.
HIT: Prince Harry is Touring the United States
Like we really needed a reason to goggle at Prince Harry, he’s currently touring the United States of America. Never mind his wild trip to Las Vegas last year. Here’s a picture of him and Michelle Obama being all, “let me graciously represent my grandmother who still loves me even though my butt is plastered all over the Internet.” Never change Prince “Hot” Harry.
MISS: Lauryn Hill Goes to Jail
RATING: 3 clever Tony Stark quips out of 5
Starring: Robert Downey Jr., Gwyneth Paltrow, Ben Kingsley, Don Cheadle
Let me just start by saying how tempted I was to rate this movie 5/5 simply because it begins with the beloved (by me) 90’s classic “Blue (Da Ba Dee)” by Eiffel 65, and I have a depp affinity for the truly terrible music of my youth. This was definitely the best of Marvel’s Avengers universe movies with a stellar cast and a director/writer (Shane Black) who creates a much tighter superhero movie than Joss Whedon, in my opinion.
In Iron Man 3 movie, the genius billionaire playboy philanthropist Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.) is back in his So-Cal pad, but he’s still a shaken after The Avengers‘ New York City alien invasion. Stark’s case of post-traumatic stress disorder leaves him tinkering away in his workshop at night instead of sleeping and puts a strain on his relationship with Pepper Potts (Gwyneth Paltrow). Lo, there’s no rest for the weary as a new global terrorist known as the Madarin (Ben Kinsley) sets his sights on the United States of America and it’s up to Stark to save the world. Again.
Let’s start with the good. Paul Bettany as Tony Stark’s computer/butler/best friend JARVIS continues to be my favourite thing about this series; he’s the perfect straight man to the always over-the-top Stark. The action sequences were also really enjoyable. My internal monologue during them consisted mostly of frantic OMGs! which are usually reserved for Game of Thrones episodes. They were much shorter than the ones in The Avengers (which is a good thing), and helped to push the plot forward rather then just having things blow up in vain.
The villains were also very cool. I feel like I can’t say anything bad about them should Stan Lee suddenly appear and have me killed. Just take my word that they are refreshingly different from the aliens and Tom Hiddlestons we have seen in Marvel movies past. One last thing that always made my nerdy heart smile was watching Tony Stark become Iron Man. Sure, he puts on the suit about 50 times in the movie, but it never stops being cool (and every time he does it I wish my own wardrobe could do the same thing).
So what knocked two stars off my perfect Blue-related score?

We know that Gwyneth Paltrow can belt a tune through her appearances on ‘Glee’, but did you know that she can also bust a rhyme?
With pal Cameron Diaz offering her beat boxing talents, the duo did a hip hop jig for Chelsea Handler, who just moved her talk show into a new studio.
In the rap, Diaz and Paltrow even poked fun of Handler’s taste in men.
With lyrics like, “You like black guys, white guys, whoever’s around. Your bedroom looks like it’s a lost and found. We kinda like you because you’re blonde like us, but we can’t hang wit’ you in public ’cause you drink too much!”, it’s pretty clear these two ladies know how to have some fun.
But if this is any indication of how musically talented Gwyneth is, I’d like to see how she’d fare in an actual rap battle!
In the world of celebrity news, there’s no shortage of hits and misses. This week, Ryan Gosling is the perfect son at his mom’s grad and One Direction fans hide in the garbage for FOUR hours.
HIT: Ryan Gosling goes to mom’s graduation, brings Eva Mendes
Ryan Gosling continues to show the world just how perfect he is, by showing up at Brock University to watch his mom cross the stage to scoop up another degree. Gosling also brought girlfriend Eva Mendes for the occasion. He made an appearance at McMaster University last year, yelling, “love you, mom! You’re the best mom, ever!” as his mom picked up her a bachelor’s degree. He loves his mom, he saves journalists, and he stops fights. Perfection.
MISS: One Direction fans hide in garbage bins for four hours

My favourite thing about reading One Direction news is reading all batshit crazy stunts fans pull just to catch a glimpse of their idols. Take for instance, hiding in garbage bins for four hours (they were caught, Zayn told the The Mirror). Or, kayaking across a lake. Or, ripping clothes off of Niall and Liam, and starting a riot in New York. Teenage girls everywhere: control thy hormones.

She may not be talking for a while, since she just got out of throat surgery, but you can relive an amazing Adele moment where she speaks out about Miley, Twilight and Gwyneth Paltrow.
I personally could listen to Adele sing or talk forever. Give me a 24 hour Adele channel, and I’m so there. I love hearing Adele speak her mind about pop culture. She’s one of the few artists that isn’t afraid to say if she hates something or someone. She’s certainly my number one celeb to interview.
Check out this rad interview with Adele as she stands up for Miley. “It’s not like it was her fault she was a Disney star. She was growing up, you know?”
And, when asked about the newest Twilight movie, she has a bone to pick with one vampire in particular.
“People here [in England] think he’s American. It’s like ‘no, no no, he belongs to us, thanks!” she says of Robert Pattinson.
The guy interviewing her asked if she reads GOOP (Gwyneth Paltrow’s pretentious online lifestyle magazine). Adele said no, adding “it sounds like 2 girls 1 cup!”
Check out the hilarious interview below. Pardon the subtitles!
Get your barf bangs out, everybody!
Newlyweds Nikki Reed and American Idol contestant Paul McDonald are so in love they had to record a cheesy song to let it all out.
The couple premiered their song “Now That I Got You” on Ryan Seacreast’s radio show this morning. She told Ryan she attends a lot of open mic nights with her hubby and plans to record more songs with him.
You can listen to the song posted below.
Nikki and Paul aren’t the first couple to record music together but they definitely should be the last. Before you know it, Gwyneth Paltrow can be found on every Coldplay song! The gesture is nice but incredibly cheesy and unnecessary in my opinion. Let’s separate business from pleasure, shall we? Here are some other couples who should never make music together.
Justin Timberlake and Jessica Biel
We all know Justin’s a triple threat. Jessica’s only known for her acting – for now! Let’s hope Justin doesn’t convince her to sing harmonies for his next album.
Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon
She can belt a note like no other, but Nick should stick to making an ass of himself on television. The R&B diva is doing fine on her own.
Fergie and Josh Dumel
Fergie’s one fly babe when she’s on stage with the Black Eyed Peas, but could you imagine Josh Dumel booty-popping with her on stage? That’s an epic fail waiting to happen.
Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin
Gwyneth have have sang in that Country Strong movie and duetted with Cee Lo Green at award shows, but if she ever summons Chris Martin into a song, all hell will break lose. She should stick to mediocre acting and raving about organic food.
The first-ever ‘Glee’ Awards will take place tonight, at 8PM ET.
The award show, which is hosted by celebrity blogger extraordinaire Perez Hilton, will select winners from the ‘Glee’ cast based on performances throughout the hit TV series.
Co-hosting will be Glee’s very own Josh Sussman, otherwise known as ‘Jew-Fro’ on the show. Expect categories such as ‘Best Original Song,’ ‘Best Medley,’ and ‘Album Of The Season.’
Guest-starring performers will also have the chance to be honoured in the category ‘Best Guest Performance,’ where John Stamos and Gwyneth Paltrow are both nominated. Lets hope Paltrow doesn’t walk away with any awards – we don’t want her singing ego to get any bigger.
The event can be viewed at at Perez’s site, and for more information head to gleethemusic.com.
Gwyneth Paltrow’s record deal plans have “fizzled out,” reports Contract Music.
The 38-year-old actress began her foray into music by playing the troubled country singer in the film ‘Country Strong,’ then going on to do more singing on several guest spots on ‘Glee.’
But Atlantic Records, who originally were interested in Paltrow, are now said to have cooled their interest in getting her to record for them.
A source says “Atlantic bosses were very interested, and [Atlantic owner] Lyor Cohen was very supportive. But then the talks halted and the deal fizzled out. There was a rumour that Paltrow wanted $1 million to sign, but that is a ridiculous figure. Atlantic is still interested in signing her.”
It is believed Gwyneth is currently focusing on her acting career and promoting her new cook book, but her spokesperson insists she hasn’t ruled out making a record. The representative said: “Atlantic was not the only company pursuing her, and she still has not decided if she wants to record an album. It is still something she is considering.”
Paltrow also performed at the Oscars, and duetted with Cee Lo Green at the Grammy Awards on his hit ‘Forget You.’
We can all breath a sign of relief – Paltrow’s record deal is nowhere near happening at the moment. I think she should stick to acting – she’s good at it. Singing? She just needs to stop. It’s not that she’s bad, but she’s not great either. Whenever she performs, it’s like someone is doing karaoke. Just meh.
Despite her not-so-noteworthy performance at the Academy Awards, E! Online reports that many record labels have been trying to court this blonde into signing a record deal of her own, following in hubby Chris Martin’s musical footsteps. I don’t know about you guys, but I’d love for her to put out an album!
The most recent rumour of them all is that Gwyneth Paltrow has signed a $900,000 record deal with Atlantic Records to create an album that the New York Post classified as “country pop”. I hate to burst your bubbles – well, I mostly hate to burst mine – but E! Online has said that this statement is false, and that Paltrow has not yet closed any deals with a record company.
Thanks a lot, New York Post, for getting my hopes up!
But apparently there is still hope – E! Online goes on to say that it is not a matter of “if” Paltrow will actually sign with a record company, but “when.”
Paltrow has previously showed off her singing chops in the the fail-of-a-movie, “Country Strong,” and has appeared on two episodes of “Glee,” in outstanding performances as substitute teacher Holly Holliday, along with live performances at the Grammy Awards, where she joining Cee Lo Green on-stage for a slightly Sesame Street-rendition of “Forget You”, and the Oscars, where she performed the nominated song “Coming Home” from “Country Strong.” (To set the record straight, the soundtracks weren’t a fail, just the movie.)
So get to work on that recording contract Gwyneth, because there are a lot of eager Team Paltrows waiting for it! And if your “Glee” co-star Matthew Morrison can do it, so can you!
Gwyneth Paltrow did an awesome job on “Glee” by performing “Forget You,” and with that performance she caught the attention of Cee Lo Green. Now Cee Lo and Paltrow are going to start recording together.
“I am actually supposed to go into the studio with her in the next few days. We are doing another personalized version of ‘Forget You and we may do something spontaneous,” Cee Lo told PopEater.
We actually spoke with Cee Lo recently ourselves where we talked about a ton of things related to music. See below and check it out.
It looks like Gwyneth Paltrow’s appearance on Glee a couple of weeks ago has reached the television sets of the Betty Ford Center!
Radar Online is reporting that Lindsay Lohan, a friend of Paltrow’s, was absolutely crushed when she saw Paltrow’s guest character on the show call her out on her craziness. Paltrow, while playing a substitute Spanish teacher, said to her students “Lindsay Lohan is totally crazy right?… How many times has Lindsay Lohan been to rehab?”
Dina Lohan says that her daughter was deeply hurt by the episode, adding “we are the first to make fun of ourselves in our family. Lindsay has even done SNL a few times, but Gwyneth went overboard and it was unnecessary.”
The words may have come out of Paltrow’s mouth, but we think your anger should be directed towards Glee’s writers rather than the actress herself. She’s paid to say their words, after all!
It looks like yet another friendship has been torn apart by the shallow, grimace-worthy plots of Glee!
After months of downing excessive amounts of alcohol and chomping on fried food, Gwyneth Paltrow is getting herself back together, says People.com.
Don’t be too alarmed, she wasn’t on a downward spiral like most celebs these days – it was for a movie role, but the lifestyle had real-life repercussions on her body.
“I was so bad with the food and alcohol in Nashville,” the 37-year-old actress tells Harper’s Bazaar in its May issue about her role as an alcoholic country singer in the new film, Love Don’t Let Me Down.
“If you saw me naked [now] compared to what I looked like when I did Iron Man 2, when I was exercising every day – I’ll get it back together, but I’ve never eaten so much fried food and white flour in my life, ever,” said the mother-of-two.
Despite an article from In Touch this week that Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin are breaking up, Paltrow denies these reports.
The article from In Touch claimed this week that the two are “moving into separate homes” and that the distance between them “has been growing for months.”
“They’re ready to split permanently by moving into separate, but adjoining, homes in London,” DJ Jamie Ford told the magazine.
Paltrow’s rep told Gossip Cop that there was no validity to these rumors. “How many times have we seen this rumour come and go?” the rep said.
Did Gwyneth Paltrow sell out her beliefs for a print ad campaign?
Paltrow has angered animal rights groups for appearing in a new Tod’s ad wearing fox fur and fur-lined boots.
“Gwyneth Paltrow should be ashamed,” Mark Glover, director of Respect for Animals, told the UK Telegraph. “I can only assume that Paltrow either is ignorant of the facts or lacks human decency and compassion.”
Not only has she lost her standing with the animal rights groups, but she may have jeopardized her important friendship with Stella McCartney. McCartney is a PETA supporter.
Paltrow was named the face of the Italian label in May, after a short film for Tod’s she made premiered in Cannes.
Gwyneth Paltrow’s daughter Apple loves to play dress up with her younger brother Moses, reports People Magazine.
“She makes [Moses] cross-dress,” Paltrow, 35, told People Magazine. “But she doesn’t put makeup on him!”
But that does not stop Apple from keeping the makeup to herself.
“My daughter plays with anything that’s girly. … She loves makeup,” said the actress. “She puts on the eye shadow and my high heels. … She likes to take my tank tops and make them a dress. And then she asks me to tie a rubber band on the back so they stay up.”
Paltrow is married to Coldplay front man Chris Martin.
Oscar winning Actress Gwyneth Paltrow had a lot of explaining to do after comments she made were misconstrued as anti-American.
After holding a press conference in Spanish, the Portugese publication, Diario de Noticiasthe, wrote the actress as saying, “British are much more intelligent and civilised than the Americans.”
The 34-year-old actress, who’s married to Coldplay frontman Chris Martin, said what she meant was, Europe is an older culture and Europeans work to live whereas Americans live to work.
The mother of two insisted that she’s proud of her heritage. “I feel so lucky to be American. I feel so proud to be American.”
She also added, “Obviously, I need to go back to seventh-grade Spanish.”
After more than two years of being out of the spotlight, actress Gwyneth Paltrow is ready to get back to work.
Paltrow, 33, has been spending those two years away from acting raising her two children, which is a handful for the actress.
Paltrow and husband Chris Martin, singer of Coldplay, have two children, Apple, 2, and son Moses, 4 months old.
“I do not know how single mothers have more than one child with no help. It requires so much of my life, and I don’t have to change sheets and clean toilets, you know,” she said, reports Access Hollywood.
Now the actress is back and ready to take on a comedic role.
“For a long time, I thought, ‘I’ve done it. I’ve done what I wanted to do. I’m not interested. I just want to be home with my family. I had no spark for work, but I feel the feeling back. And I’m excited about the prospect. I want to do something kind of fun. I don’t want to do anything depressing or mad. I want to do a really great, funny, weird character,” says Paltrow in Harper’s Bazaar Magazine.
The actress has never received too much attention in the tabloids and from the paparazzi and she wants to keep it that way.
“I just hope the whole paparazzi thing continues in the way it’s been going, which is with less interest in people like me and more interest in people like Nicole Richie-who I think is an excellent dresser, by the way. She’s supercute. It’s really fair that the press attention goes to those who want it and court it. I think that’s greatm,” she said.
Paltrow’s new movie “Running With Scissors” will open on October 11.
Actress Gwyneth Paltrow and Coldplay frontman Chris Martin have welcomed a baby boy into the world and no, they did not name him Orange.
Spokeswoman Emily Yomtobian said the couple’s second child was born in New York at the weekend and was named Moses.
“Mum and baby are both doing well,” she said. “I’m sure they are ecstatic.”
Paltrow, 33, and Martin, 29, already have a daughter named Apple.
“It sounded so sweet and it conjured such a lovely picture for me,” Paltrow once told talk show host Oprah Winfrey of Apple’s name.
“You know, apples are so sweet and they’re wholesome and it’s biblical – and I just thought it sounded so lovely and clean.”
Gwyneth Paltrow confirmed on Thursday that she is pregnant with her second child, E! Online reports.
During a press conference for her latest film, Proof, Paltrow was introduced as a pregnant woman and asked how far along she was.
“Far enough along to feel very cumbersome,” she replied.
Patrow’s spokesman, Stephen Huvane, confirmed the exchange happened at the press conference to E! News, but said she was not necessarily announcing her pregnancy.
Paltrow and husband Chris Martin, lead singer for the band Coldplay, already have one daughter, Apple, who was born in May 2004.
