Victoria Beckham will reportedly make a cameo appearance in the hit cartoon “Spongebob Squarepants,” joining the ranks of such past celebrity guest stars as Johnny Depp, Scarlett Johansson and David Bowie.

The ex-Spice Girl recorded the voice-over for a princess character in Los Angeles late last year, according to the Daily Mirror.

Beckham, who has turned her attentions from making music to heading her own fashion empire, was apparently persuaded to take part in the show by her four-year-old son, Cruz.

A source told the Mirror, “She isn’t interested in becoming an actress, but voice-over work is something that appealed. She joked that she could simply rock up to the studios in a trackie and no make-up and no one would ever know.”

The source added, “Scriptwriters created the role of a posh British princess especially for her and were blown away by what a natural she was.”

The episode featuring Beckham is expected to air during an hour-long special this summer.
