Kelly Preston is set to join her husband, John Trovolta, in the upcoming film, Gotti: Three Generations. The couple will play on-screen husband and wife John Gotti Sr. and Victoria Gotti, reports E! Online.
“The love and passion between John and Kelly…will bring a huge benefit to John Sr. and his wife, and to tell you the truth, they have a lot in common,” Marc Fiore, the film’s producer, told People. “They both lost a child at a young age and they understand what the Gottis went through when the Gottis lost their child.”
“She’s a terrific actress, and she can really do the role justice,” said Steve Honig, a spokesman for the production company, of Preston.
The couple’s daughter, 11-year-old Ella Bleu, will also be joining the cast as their on-screen daughter, Angel Gotti. Looks like this Gotti movie is turning into a family affair!
Among non-family cast members is Lindsay Lohan, who, despite being rumoured to play Victoria Gotti herself, will be playing Kim Gotti, the wife of John Gotti Jr.
Lindsay Lohan has been confirmed for the role of Kim, the wife of John Gotti Jr., in the upcoming film Gotti: Three Generations, based on mob boss John Gotti’s family, reports Perez Hilton.
“I’m really excited to be back on set and clear up all the misinterpretations about me and show this is what I love to do,” dished Lohan to the Associated Press, according to The Hollywood Reporter. “I think it’s such an iconic story. I think it’s a great story to be told. I’m honored to be working with John Travolta and Joe Pesci. [In mob films] You don’t get to see the heart behind the story and the real side of people. I can relate to that because I think that I’ve been portrayed in a certain light. I just want to do my best to show what their family really went through. I think in the past, I had a lot of distraction. I’ve learned a lot. I’ve lived a lot. When I’m on set, it’s about the film.”
Congrats, Lindsay! We think this role can be really good for you, and it sounds like you have the right mind set going in!
Marc Fiore, the movie’s producer, spoke up on casting Lohan for the role, saying, “We’re very pleased to have Lindsay on-board for both of these films. She has been very enthusiastic about the Gotti project, and after resuming discussions with her, we were impressed by her commitment to the film and felt she would be the perfect Kim Gotti.”
Lohan also revealed her excitement about filming the movie in New York. “The energy of filming there — it just brings so much more life to the film,” she said.
It really seems like Lindsay finally has a chance to turn her life around, we really hope it works out for her! What are your thoughts on Lindsay being cast? Do you think this could be a turning point in salvaging her acting career?
It seems like a curse has been placed against Lindsay Lohan, and she just can’t get a job. Lindsay was supposed to play Victoria Gotti in the upcoming film “Gotti: Three Generations,” but now that’s not going to happen.
Executive Producer Marc Fiore tells TMZ he has ended negotiations with Lindsay’s team because, “It just didn’t work for me.” Money was an issue, but also some of the demand were ludicrous, however there is no info on the specifics of those demands.
There is still hope. Fiore says, ”Maybe if Lindsay calls me up, we can talk about it.” So perhaps there is still a chance for Lindsay to keep the job, and hopefully hire better management.
