Actor Don Cheadle has been honoured with the title of United Nations Goodwill Ambassador For The Environment, reports PerezHilton.

Apparently Cheadle joined the UN last year to head their climate change campaign, and has since done some amazing things. Not only has he spoken with many important leaders, he has also got then to agree to sign a treaty limiting greenhouse has emissions.

Because of his good work, Cheadle has been honoured with the new title, which will be celebrated next month in Rwanda.

As a Goodwill Ambassador for the UN Refugee Agency, Angelina Jolie, accompanied by her partner, Brad Pitt, travelled to Syria to raise awareness of the situation there regarding Iraqi refugees.

In addition to meeting with President Bashar al-Assad and his wife, Asma, the couple visited two refugee families in the capital, Damascus, reports Perez Hilton.

“Most Iraqi refugees cannot return to Iraq in view of the severe trauma they experienced there, the uncertainty linked to the coming Iraqi elections, the security issues and the lack of basic services,” said Jolie. ”They will, therefore, be in need of continued support from the international community.”
