Zachary Quinto may be playing Spock these days but it was Leonard Nimoy who made it iconic. In this new ad for Audi, the two are in competition and it’s not over who does the best “Live long and prosper” line.
The two race each other to see who gets to the golf club first with the loser buying them lunch. It’s less Fast and the Furious and more Driving Miss Daisy but the whole bit is pretty great. We finally get to see Leonard lose his cool, get beeped by the censors and sing a song about Bilbo Baggins, which should be a win in anyone’s book.
Disclaimer: I don’t play golf nor do I have any intentions to play golf. But if I ever found myself on a golf course, I would be more interested in driving the golf carts. I would even be more inclined to be someone’s caddy if it meant driving golfer Bubba Watson’s hover golf cart. Just imagine racing these things around the green to just screw everyone’s game up. You might as well do every possible stupid thing you can before you get banned from someone hoity toity golf club, right?
I’m pretty sure this toddler is going to rule the golf world with his wicked swing one day. He barely fails to make contact with each of the golf balls on the ground of his empty basement. In fact, this 17-month-old hits the balls so hard I wonder if he might be better suited for a career in baseball?
Once in a while you might experience a bout of increased adrenaline and feel like you can bound over a golf court and impress all your uncoordinated friends. Don’t do it — especially if you’re wearing loose shorts.
Tiger Woods’ family may just live happy ever after. TMZ is reporting that Tiger is back living under the same roof with his wife Elin Noredgren and two kids for the past eight nights.
Tiger unfortunately has not been able to get to the course as he has been stuck indoors due to bad weather. However he is rumored to return to the tour March 22 at the Tavistock Cup.
Although you can still see Tiger Woods sporting Nike caps, t-shirts and shoes, don’t expect to see any Gatorade his hand. E! reported that a day after Nike pledged commitment to the now controversial golf pro, PepsiCo-owned Gatorade announced that they were dropping Woods. Like he’s hot.
“We no longer see a role for Tiger in our marketing efforts and have ended our relationship,” said a spokeswoman for Gatorade, which discontinued its Gatorade Tiger Focus energy drink in December. “We wish him all the best.”
It is not official whether the company dropped him due to his recent marital woes, but it’s not too difficult to figure out.
Gatorade is not the only company to let go of the apologetic athlete; Accenture was the first to cut him, followed by AT&T. Watchmaker Tag Heuer and Gillette let him off a little bit easier; without completely letting him go, they have decided to give him smaller roles in advertising for the near future.
Amid the Tiger Woods sex scandal and Woods’ undoubtedly tarnished image, TAG Heuer is still sticking with the professional golfer, but with some modifications. TAG issued a statement that the watch maker will continue to use Tiger Woods as their spokesperson, but the marketing program will be altered to address Woods’ desire for privacy.
This is a different story from what was originally believed. Reports last week suggested that TAG would be dumping Tiger altogether, however this has turned out to be false. President and CEO of TAG Heuer Jean-Chrisophe Babin said in a release, “The partnership with Tiger Woods will continue but we will downscale the use of his image in certain markets for a period of time, depending on his decision about returning to professional golf.”
Tiger Woods, sometimes regarded as the greatest golfer of all time, was hurt in a car accident outside his home in Florida early this morning (November 27).
According to perezhilton.com, Woods pulled out of his driveway at about 2:25 a.m., when he hit the fire hydrant and subsequently ran into a tree in his neighbour’s property. This information was provided by the Florida Highway Patrol this afternoon.
After being transported to the Heatlh Central Hospital in Ococee, Woods was labeled as being in serious condition. Apparently the airbags in Wood’s Escalade did not activate, which, according to perezhilton.com, means the vehicle was under the speed of 33 mph.

Tiger Woods told the executive committee of the Olympic program he would play in the 2016 Summer Olympic Games if golf was made an Olympic sport, Perez Hilton reports.
“I’ve said there is no singular decision or singular program that can globalize the game of golf like a nod from the IOC to join the Olympic Games,” said PGA of America CEO Joe Steranka. “We’re very encouraged by today and we’re proud of the support we’ve received.”
Those behind the suggested program change propose featuring a 72-hole stroke-play competition with 60 players for men and women.

Tiger Woods PGA Tour 10
You know a little more than a decade ago I remember golf breaking into the gaming scene. Back then Tiger Woods was fast on his way to becoming a worldwide recognizable sports icon, which meant we were going to get a new game franchise thrown our way. Besides the Hotshotz series of games, we had nothing really serious and cool on the consoles… well Mario Golf was definitely one of the better titles out there on the N64.
My first Tiger Woods PGA Tour experience was with the 2004 edition. I was amazed at how gorgeous this game looked running on a ps2, it played like a deeper, realistic version of the famed Hotshotz golf games. Suddenly we had an alternative to the arcade-like golf games on our consoles. Read more…

As you are probably aware by now EA Sports Tiger Woods PGA Tour 10 demo is out now on PSN and XBOX Live.
The demo allows players to play two real courses, Bethpage Black and Turnberry, which is where -for those of you obsessed with golf- they will be hosting the 2009 British Open.
The demo allows you to take on the two courses and try out the practice mode if you need to.
A not worthy addition is the challenge mode included in the demo, which takes players to a new course and picks a specific hole with a particular challenge.
The game boasts dynamic weather that will no doubt play a big part of how you take on each course and features updated graphics, rosters, courses, EA Live Tournament, Precision Putting, Tournament Atmosphere and the aforementioned Tournament Challenge Mode.
Naturally I am a bit psyched, especially for the Wii version with its MOTION PLUS GLORY!! It just wouldn’t be summer if there wasn’t a golf game to play.
