Natalie Mejia, who is one of the members of the girl group Girlicious, has pleaded guilty to cocaine charges stemming from a March 9 arrest.
Natalie was found to have 13 bags of cocaine in her purse after the car she was riding in was pulled over by Glendale, California police. Natalie has pleaded guilty to felony cocaine possession and has received a deferred judgment that could result in the charge being dismissed, reports PopEater.
The D.A. in the case tells PopEater Mejia will be required to undergo counseling and attend classes for the next 18 month
Summer Rush is an amazing concert hosted by Toronto’s Z103.5 at Canada’s Wonderland. One thing we noticed at the concert was the lack of security among some of the artists. We explored this topic and also found out some moves to protect yourself against screaming fans.
Remember Natalie Mejia? Nope, neither do we, but apparently she got busted for cocaine, and pleaded not guilty. E! Online reports that the Girlicious singer pleaded guilty Thursday to felony possession of cocaine with the intent to sell in connection with her arrest on March 9. Police allegedly found a dozen baggies of cocaine when they went through her Gucci purse during a routine traffic stop.
Mejia’s claim to fame was her role on the CW show Pussycat Dolls Present: Girlicious, where her pop trio emerged. The 21-year-old singer was a passenger in the car – Peter Ascensio, who was also arrested, was the driver. As always, Mejia says that she does not know how the drugs got into her bag.
April 26 is the court date that will determine whether there’s enough evidence against Mejia to be taken to trial.
Mejia, whose pop trio took shape on the CW show Pussycat Dolls Present: Girlicious, was a passenger in the car—the driver, Peter Ascensio, was also arrested—and maintains that she does not know how the drugs got in her bag.
She might be safe however, because police said that last month Ascencio made “some statement” indicating that the drugs were his, but it was up to the district attorney to press charges.
Natalie Mejia’s trip to Toronto was cut short today after she was arrested in Glendale, Cali. for having more than a dozen individual packages of cocaine in her Gucci purse, reports the Glendale News Press.
The Girlicious performer was en route to tonight’s Fan Fest concert at Toronto’s Masonic Temple when she was pulled over by the police when they noticed her 1998 Ford Mustang travelling at a very high rate of speed.
Mejia, 21, and passenger 28-year-old Peter Asencio are being held in the Glendale City Jail. Mejia’s bail totals US $30, 000.
Glendale Police Sgt. Tom Lorenz is holding both Mejia and Asencio on suspicions of possessing cocaine for sale.
“She doesn’t know how it go into her purse,” says Lorenz.
Asencio is being arrested alongside Mejia for driving with a suspended license.

When Robin Antin—the genius behind the other barely-clothed girl group known as Pussycat Dolls—decided to create another “masterpiece”, I was curious to see the end result. PCD were an international success. And while my love for Girlicious is non-existent, I kinda like PCD.
And here’s why:
1) Their songs are catchy. Yeah, sure the video for the single “I Hate This Part” is shot in the desert even though the first line of the song is “We’re driving slow through the snow on 5th Avenue…” But this is what you get when you sing songs you don’t write. Anyway the lyrics are a bit cheesy but at least it’s not “stupid shit.” (more…)
