After getting everybody excited that he was running for Mayor, George Lopez is now flip flopping on the whole mayor thing. Lopez is now saying the whole thing was a joke.
This is kind of strange considering the guy looked pretty serious on “Good Day L.A.,” and later confirmed his intentions during an interview with the Associated Press. However he reaffirms he’s not serious.
Not sure if this was that great of a joke. We are talking about him at least, but we aren’t laughing.
So what do you think about George Lopez as the Mayor of Los Angeles? He seems like a pretty bright guy, well respected, and he could relate to a lot of minorities. Well Lopez appeared on “Good Day L.A.” yesterday proclaiming he will run for mayor of Los Angeles in eight years.
So why does Lopez think he can be Mayor? “If Arnold Schwarzenegger can be governor, why can’t George Lopez be the mayor of Los Angeles?” Valid point. Nevertheless, we look forward to seeing how this one plays out.

Conan O’Brien is coming back to TV, but not with Fox as everyone assumed. No Coco will be heading over to Atlanta based TBS, reports TVGuide.com.
“In three months I’ve gone from network television to Twitter to performing live in theaters, and now I’m headed to basic cable,” O’Brien said in a statement. “My plan is working perfectly.”
O’Brien also tweeted: “The good news: I will be doing a show on TBS starting in November! The bad news: I’ll be playing Rudy on the all new Cosby Show.”
The show is not currently titled but will air Monday-Thursday evenings followed by George Lopez’s “Lopez Tonight.” The program is rumored to debut November at 11/10c after the World Series. Having Conan certainly raises the profile of TBS which is generally considered a second or third string player.
Funnyman GEORGE LOPEZ has launched a scathing attack on JAY LENO, branding the chat show host “the worst interviewer on TV.”
Lopez has dubbed Leno “two faced” for failing to invite him onto THE TONIGHT SHOW since 2005 – despite pretending to be a good friend of the star on the phone, reports PageSix.com.
He says, “Leno is the biggest two-faced dude in TV. When I had my transplant, he called me and was the nice guy on the phone. And then he just puts the knife in your back. It tells you something about Jay Leno if CONAN O’BRIEN is coming into The Tonight Show when Jay Leno is still young enough to be the host.
“The dude’s, like, the worst interviewer on TV.”
