The third time is a charm for Fort Minor.

After two weeks, “Where’d You Go,” the third single from The Rising Tide, has entered the Billboard Hot 100. It’s also up to number 42 on the Pop 100 and is on the Mainstream Top 40 chart.

Fort Minor is a side project for Linkin Park member Mike Shinoda.

“I wrote and recorded virtually every note on the album, wrote every singing part, and all my verses,” Shinoda told andPOP in February. “I produced and mixed the album. It was a ton of work, but a very rewarding experience.”

Shinoda wrote “Where’d You Go” about being away from home, but from the perspective of the people left behind.

“Mike explained that he wrote the song for his wife, who has a hard time when he’s on the road,” said the video director for the song, Philip Andelman.

Singers Holly Brook and Jonah Matranga join Shinoda for the chorus.
