So if you’re anything like me, you probably weren’t sitting front row at any of the fashion shows taking place this past month in New York City, London, Milan and Paris. Heck, you weren’t even standing in the back on your tiptoes craning your neck to get a good look at the latest designs for Fall/Winter! Thankfully the Internet is there to give us a glimpse of all the fashion we’d otherwise miss. Although they say a photograph is worth a thousand words, pics from the runway can’t really transport us to the front row.
Music and fashion go hand and hand, and the right music can really set the tone for a collection. That’s why some designers go all out when it comes to a show’s music. Kenzo (as rejuvenated by the geniuses behind Opening Ceremony) commissioned M.I.A. to create a soundtrack for the entire collection, which is pretty cool! So I compiled a list of songs from some of your fav shows to get you in the mood of all the latest collections. Now you can take Fashion Week and bring it with you on your iPod and make every sidewalk your own personal runway! Get ready to stomp it out!

Rihanna debuted her River Island collection last month during London Fashion Week – and it was a train wreck.
The Daily Beast called the line “tiresome, underwhelming and uninspired marketing exercise” and Huffington Post Canada called it a “wardrobe malfunction waiting to happen” Oh Riri…what are we going to do with you.
Conversely, in the issue with the star in question on the cover, ELLE reported said ”My perception of her style was squarely rooted in the raunchy stage wear and street style that are synonymous with her image, (but) aside from a nod to street style in the denim section, the collection is an ode to all things high fashion.”
…I’m sorry. What? Are we looking at the same line? The line that has been eloquently described as “porny?’
To each their own. We are all allowed to have an opinion – and mine is that Rihanna is a tad in over her head. The girl makes catchy music, but she stay away from things as huge in the fashion industry as the London Fashion Week where the big girls play. Maybe stay in the sandbox a little longer and try again – but with more fabric next time.
Calling it a clothing line is generous considering there is not a lot of clothing involved. In my opinion, artist lines are going to appeal to their fans – shouldn’t the line feature clothing that can be worn by said fans? Celebrity lines can be fun with great summer dresses and funky shoes that, while pricey, can be worn to events by all of our favourite celebs. No celebrity is going to wear mesh to an event – or none that I follow and respect. I conclude that Rihanna needs to go back to the drawing board and think of some unique and spunky designs that will flatter rather than expose.
The line is full of see through clothing that includes mesh – nipple bearing mesh. That is definitely what I am wearing my next night out on the town…not. The Huffington Post reported that Rihanna herself was an hour late for her 9 minute fashion show. Fashionably late, or just disrespectful, it’s up to you to decide. Would you wear anything from Rihanna’s clothing line?

Fashion Week isn’t only about designers and their mega-fabulous runway shows. The pool of photographers waiting for your arrival gives you all the more reason to be more adventurous with your style.
Despite the dreary weather in Paris this past week, fashion-forward editors, socialites and the like were anything but. Donned in their best fall gear — from tweed and leather to stripes and peplum skirts — these fashionistas really know how to embrace trends in a unique way.
1. Oh-so-cocoa
“Wear a coat as a dress,” says Anna Dello Russo in her Fashion Shower video for H&M. Now we understand why that’s one of her top ten fashion rules. This coat is stylin n’ profilin’. And those golden shades top off this plain-Jane look beautifully.
2. Stripes lovin’
Striped pants were a hit this past summer and now the trend is easing its way into fall. It’s a smart way to enhance a simple look such as this one — a plain grey top and leather jacket.
3. Pretty in peplum
Here’s another summer trend that’s in full swing this fall season! And why wouldn’t it be? Peplum skirts are the essence of femininity. The best part about this look is the fact that she paired it with a comfy sweater. It’s unexpected but she’s totally rocking it!

Too… much cuteness… going to explode.

While Harry Styles was rubbing shoulders with stylistas at a Burberry Show during London’s Fashion Week, One Direction’s Liam Payne took a short break at Orlando’s SeaWorld and swam with dolphins. Liam is cute. Dolphins are adorable. Together, it’s cuteness overload.
Meanwhile, at a different park in Miami called Seaquarium, Louis Tomlinson also swam with dolphins during a visit with his girlfriend Eleanor Calder. The couple clearly had a good time as Calder tweeted later: “It’s been really fun! Weather has been fab!”

Jersey Shore’s Pauly D has been asked by Kim Kardashian to DJ at her store during NYC Fashion Week. Pauly has agreed to do it for free.
The event is called Fashion’s Night Out, and its the biggest event during Fashion Week. TMZ reports Pauly has agreed to DJ for free as a wedding present to Kim, and he usually gets $40,000 to DJ. And he wasn’t even invited to the wedding!
What a nice guy.
