Redmond O’Neal, son of Ryan O’Neal and the late Farrah Fawcett, was sentenced by a judge Friday to one year in a residential drug treatment program, reports Perez Hilton. He was charged with bringing heroin into a jail facility, to which he pleaded no contest.
If O’Neal, 24, violates his probation in any way, he could face up to six years in prison.
His mother, a former Charlie’s Angels star, died June 25 at the age of 62 after a battle with cancer.
It’s been a tough past few days for the family of Farrah Fawcett. Redmond O’Neal, the 24-tear-old so of Fawcett and Ryan O’Neal, is back behind bars today after police discovered narcotics on him at a detention centre in Castaic, California.
According to E! online, Redmond was just giving friends a ride to the facility but was stopped at a routine security checkpoint in the parking lot when the drugs were found.
He was arrested and is being held on $25,000 bail.News of the arrest comes on the heels of reports that Fawcett has been hospitalized since Thursday in her three-year battle with cancer.

Doctors found a malignant tumour in Fawcett’s lower intestine in the past month.
