This week, SanDisk announced it is now shipping an upgraded line of its SanDisk Extreme IV CompactFlash memory cards designed for professional photographers. The entire series of SanDisk Extreme IV memory cards are 12.5 per cent faster, and the new 16-gigabyte card can store two times more than the previous models of the cards.

The SanDisk Extreme IV CompactFlash cameras feature advanced technologies that are compatible with all CompactFlash cameras. Depending on the kind of camera used, the increased performance of the new SanDisk Extreme IV card may be able to reduce the delay between shots, allowing photographers to take more photos on one memory card. The new memory card from SanDisk also enables faster card-to-computer data transfer speeds.

The SanDisk Extreme IV also caters to professional photographers because of the sheer data size of the photos they typically take. Professional photographer typically shot in RAW or RAW+JPG format, which require up to ten times more card capacity than JPG images. Such capacity performance is ideal for sporting, fashion or wildlife photographers who tend to use continuous shooting mode.
