Niki Taylor will add “mother” to her nameplate come spring. The 33-year-old supermodel is expecting her first child with her husband, NASCAR driver Burney Lamar.
Taylor began modeling professionally when she was 14. She’s graced numerous magazine covers, including those for Seventeen, Vogue, Allure, ELLE, and Sports Illustrated. Taylor is also a familiar face for CoverGirl. In 2001, she was critically injured in a car accident in Atlanta, which left her with internal injuries and severe liver damage. She was in a coma for six months before undergoing 56 reparative operations and extended physical therapy. She has since returned to modeling as well as developed her entrepreneurial side in the biz, opening a store, and launching her own fragrance in 2005.
Taylor was previously married to Arena football player Matt Martinez for two years, with whom she had twin boys, Jake and Hunter, now 13. She became engaged to current husband Lamar after only their third date, and they married Dec. 27, 2006.

Ethan Hawke and “24″ star Mary Lynn Rajskub both joined the expectant parents list yesterday. Gwen Stefani and Gavin Rossdale confirmed they were expecting a second child on Tuesday, as did Dixie Chick Martie Maguire on Sunday. And of course there’s those pesky rumours that Brad and Angelina are expecting twins.
The famous children grow up much too fast. Already, Nicole Richie and Christina Aguilera’s newborns are battling over which will bring in the most cash for an exclusive photo spread.
The trend may actually be in part because of the Writer’s Guild Strike, because as productions have shut down, stars feel they finally have time to start a family.

Matthew McConaughey is going to be a father, and he’s “stoked” about it!
McConaughey made the big announcement yesterday on his web site.
“Got some blessed news… a celebration of life and bounty… a newborn conceived… yes, my girlfriend Camila and I made a baby together,” McConaughey wrote. “its [sic] 3 months growin in her womb and all looks healthy and lively so far… we are stoked and wowed by this miracle of creation and this gift from God, and so excited for the adventure that will come in raising this child, being a mother and father, and sheparding [sic] him or her through this life… from moms and dads, to family, to community, it takes the best will and support from everyone to raise the healthiest children we have in society… wish us the best, keep us in your prayers, and God bless evolution… thanks for bein fans of me and my work and now this new and miraculous chapter in my life, as me and Camila and our child do our best to just keep livin.?”
This is the first child for McConaughey.
