LATEST: Rapper/actress EVE has been formally charged with drunk driving following her Los Angeles car crash last month.
The 28-year-old was arrested at the scene when her gold Maserati smashed into Hollywood Boulevard’s central reservation. She was later freed from jail after posting $30,000 bail.
Eve has also been charged with registering a blood alcohol limit in excess of 0.08 per cent, and failing to show proof of insurance.
The star now faces probation of three to five years, a minimum fine of $390 and a compulsory alcohol treatment course.
She is due in court on May 17.

Rapper/actress EVE has been arrested on suspicion of drunk-driving after crashing her car in Los Angeles in the early hours of this morning.
Police say the incident occurred at around 2.45am on Hollywood Boulevard and that the 28-year-old, real name Eve Jeffers, has since had her blood alcohol level tested.
Eve posted $30,000 bail and is due in court on May 17, when she’ll face misdemeanour drunk driving charges.
Movie star Sean Penn, who is believed to have been with Eve shortly before the accident, visited the hip-hop star in the police station where she was being held, before leaving in a taxi.
A source tells website TMZ.com, “He came to see how Eve was doing.”
