“The Wrestler” actress Evan Rachel Wood has signed on for a pivotal role in the upcoming second season of HBO’s “True Blood.”
According to Entertainment Weekly, Wood will play Sophie Anne, a 500-year-old vampire queen from France who “is charming, wily, ruthless and wise. She’s a consummate diplomat who has (or had) many of history’s most famous people on speed dial.”
The character is set to appear in the last two episodes of the season, which premieres on June 14. Wood may also continue the role in a potential third season, which the popular show is expected to receive.

Marilyn Manson’s former keyboardist has added more disturbing items to the list of things Manson has squandered the band’s money on.
Following Stephen Bier’s first lawsuit against the shock rocker in August, Page Six is reporting that his new complaint filed this week states that Manson purchased “African masks made of human skin, a full skeleton of a 4-year-old Chinese girl that Manson is said to have turned into a chandelier, and another skeleton of a man in a wheelchair… swastika wall tiles and matching custom rugs, a mounted grizzly bear and two mounted baboons.”
Biers also finds fault with Manson hiring his girlfriend, Evan Rachel Wood, for the “Heart Shaped Glasses” video and paying her more than any music video actress in history.
Manson also allegedly used band funds to have roadies cart around suitcases filled with copies of the “Alice in Wonderland” books.
The music world is buzzing about “Across The Universe” star Evan Rachel Wood’s voice.
Wood wowed audiences with her renditions of the Beatles classics like “Blackbird” and “If I Fell” (90 per cent of the songs in the film were recorded live as the cameras rolled) and is now reportedly close to signing a recording contract with Interscope records. She is still finalizing negotiations.
The label also represents Marilyn Manson, Wood’s boyfriend.
