You can tell a lot about a man by the way he treats his mother, which is why we’re 100 percent sure Justin Bieber is a genuinely good guy. The singer serenaded his mom Pattie Mallette on The Today Show with a couple verses of the very song he wrote for her birthday and released on Mother’s Day called “Turn To You.”

Mallete has been making the talk show rounds to promote her new memoir called Nowhere But Up: The Story of Justin Bieber’s Mom. Yesterday she talked about Selena Gomez on Ellen but today it was all about her relationship with Justin.

Justin even wrote forward of her book and their special bond became even more clear during the interview. He told Kathie Lee Gifford: ”She’s just been a friend, someone I can talk to and a good role model. I want to grow up and have the heart that my mom has because she has such a big heart.” D’aw. Someone make a meme out of that!

Justin Bieber’s mom Pattie Mallette went on The Ellen Show and gushed about her son’s girlfriend Selena Gomez. Naturally, she loves the girl, which isn’t surprising considering you can’t find a much more adorable girlfriend than a dimple-cheeked Disney star who bakes cupcakes with Taylor Swift. She would absolutely destroy a Meet the Parents-style dinner, in a good way.

After sharing her feelings about Gomez, Ellen presented her with a special gift. When Justin was born, Mallette took a vow to not have sex until she was married. And since she wouldn’t date until Bieber turned 18, she was off the market until recently.

Ellen just couldn’t understand how she went so long without getting some action and thoughtfully presented Mallette with a Match.com six month gift certificate. That means our next mission is to sign up for Match.com and find Mallette. She’s a catch!

Since being introduced to Sophia Grace and Rosie after seeing their rendition of Nicki Minaj’s “Superbass”, I’ve been in love with the adorable duo ever since.

On Friday’s episode of ‘Ellen”, the two girls invited Justin Bieber to have tea with them while they interviewed the singer on his favourite games, his fears and even his favourite kinds of junk food.

From the video, we get to learn the finer details of the Biebs’ personality.  Turns out, his favourite cake is ice cream cake while his favourite cookie, to both Sophia Grace and Rosie’s dismay, is oatmeal raisin.

These girls show some serious chops in being television personalities. If they don’t choose to go ahead with their musical ambitions, I’m sure Ellen will have a permanent show lined up for these little divas.

A while ago, Britney Spears shared on Twitter that she’d love to learn Psy’s horse-riding dance in his music video for “Gangnam Style.” Leave it to Ellen to hook the pair up on her show. After Ellen’s interview with Spears and her fellow X-Factor judge Simon Cowell, the talk show host surprised the pop star by bringing out the man himself (Psy) to teach her his unique choreography.

Britney (who looked GORG BTW) picked up the moves pretty fast, despite wearing a tight pink dress that couldn’t have been easy to dance in. The video is quickly slaying the Internet.

Ellen Degeneres has knocked out nine (count ‘em) NINE seasons of her talk show, which means she’s onto her EPIC tenth anniversary. For her upcoming season, Ellen conveniently called up her famous buddies to promote her show, including Justin Bieber, Nicki Minaj, Jennifer Aniston, Carrie Underwood and Steve Carell.

Ellen was a little demanding with some of her promos, including one with country singer Taylor Swift, who she urged to stay silent for the entirety of the clip. Whenever Taylor speaks Ellen is all “shhh.” But that’s okay because Tay has a GORG smile anyway, even if it’s a tad awkward here.

In the promo with Nicki Minaj she says Ellen has that “boom badoom boom, boom badoom boom bass, she’s got that super bass,” which we all knew anyway but it never hurts to get confirmation from the girl herself. [Source]

Unfortunately Justin Bieber was too busy filming his video for “Boyfriend” to graduate with much of a celebration. That’s why Ellen decided to hold a mock ceremony for the popstar on her show. She put a lot of thought into it too, even providing a gown and cap that sat a foot above his head so it wouldn’t disrupt his luscious locks.

In attendance was his manager Scooter, his road manager Kenny and his mom Patty. Graduation is the point where you talk about chasing your pipe dreams and never ever giving up but the 18-year-old is already an international superstar… so he’s working backwards. Ellen said her biggest accomplishment at 18 was drinking a whole bottle of syrup from the International House of Pancakes.

Ellen also had some advice for the new high school graduate. She recommended he pull his pants up or wear suspenders, which my Grandma would surely agree with (she has commented on it in the past).

I’m happy for The Biebs though he makes everyone else’s high school accomplishments seem slightly inadequate. Then he gets to graduate on Ellen? Not fair.

He also performed “boyfriend” in his personalized Varsity Jacket (sans gold shoes) showing off his swag dance moves and making the lives of the girls in the audience after high fiving them.

It’s hard to believe Katy Perry was dropped by three record labels before making it big. She opened up to Ellen about overcoming all those ‘nos’ she received from the industry and her family.

She said she had a strict upbringing and wasn’t allowed to listen to secular music. The industry was wary also, she speculated, because her vision was so strong.

“I just never accepted that,” she said. ”A lot of people wanted me to be like someone — whether it was a Kelly Clarkson or an Avril Lavigne — and I was like ‘ Well I wanna be Katy Perry first’ and they didn’t really understand that.

Katy’s upcoming movie Part of Me will delve into her struggle. ”Sometimes people think that we’re perfect and we know we’re not at all,” she told Ellen. “I think it’s important to start breaking down the idea that to achieve your dream you have to be perfect or flawless or live in a fantasy world.”

Few people are more excited to see Nicki Minaj than the tutu-wearing Sophia Grace and Rosie. The two girls, who are from the UK, covered her song Superbass on YouTube and eventually on Ellen’s show.

The Pink Friday rapper had some colourful advice for the two young girls: “Pink is your color. Pink is gonna keep you happy for the rest of your life,” she said. “Pink is gonna give you power, energy, and the girliness that you need. You wear your crown and you’re a queen.”

Minaj also talked about having a tough time going unnoticed and surprisingly it’s the worst when she’s driving in her pink car. She said the paparazzi are sometimes so aggressive they’re willing to have an accident. “A girl literally cut through traffic and made a U-turn just to put her car infront of my car, so she could take a picture,” she said.

Minaj also addressed shutting down her Twitter account (in a spontaneous British accent) and about Ellen being in one of her lyrics.

Maya Rudolph sang “Twinkle Twinkle Little Star” on Ellen Degeneres today as some of our favourite singers. Ellen challenged her to impersonate a few different singers and for every person Ellen guessed correctly she got one point.

Nicki Minaj and Rihanna have some of the most distinct and recognizable voices, but it’s her impersonation of Gwen Stefani that’s really uncanny.

Songbird Ellie Goulding performed “Lights” on Ellen today, from her CD of the same name, and her performance just confirms that the Brits are on a roll. After her performance Ellen said she loves the song and Ellie — who was still on a music high — looked like she couldn’t believe she was there.

It was recently announced that Ellie and her boyfriend Skrillex will be recording with Swedish House Mafia for her new album. Only good things can come of this collaboration!

Titanic 3D is currently in theatres but what you might not have known is that Ellen Degeneres’ small part in the original movie was cut out. Fortunately, James Cameron made the critical decision to edit it back in for the movie’s re-release and Ellen showed an exclusive clip to prove it.

Ellen plays a painter who is commissioned to paint a nude portrait of Rose at the same time as Jack. I’m not sure how I feel about it. It takes away that romantic aura of the scene but the infusion of humour certain lightens the mood.

Emma Stone was vague when Ellen asked her who was the better kisser between Andrew Garfield and Ryan Gosling. She cleverly answered by avoiding the question saying it’s like comparing apples and oranges. When Ellen pushed her further Emma said she likes all fruits — though it should be mentioned that she and Andrew Garfield are dating. So I think she’s biased. Ellen also made the actress face her fear of spiders by cruelly bringing in an eight legged monster and flinging it on the actress.

While in the studio, Emma Stone destroyed Ellen’s dance challenge in the best way possible, thrusting behind several unknowing victims.

Andrew Garfield talked about his skin-tight suit on Ellen Degeneres yesterday and revealed that there’s absolutely nothing under the unitard. No boxers, no briefs, nada. ”It’s absolutely the worst,” he said about the suit. He told Ellen that his hiney was shot from many uncomfortable angles and that he wasn’t in shape at all before they started filming.

Andrew’s going to be expecting a lot of fame with the new movie and Ellen wanted to protect him from the paparazzi by providing him with a two-step disguise. First, she gave him a blonde mullet wig with sunglasses attached so he can pop it on like a hat. Then she gifted him a stick-on moustache.

Andrew was very appreciative and British polite about it all, even though the disguise transformed him into a German version of Joe Dirt.

Justin Bieber made a special appearance on The Ellen Degeneres Show today to introduce his artist Carly Rae Jepsen.

After her performance of “Call Me Maybe,” Carly and Justin sat down with Ellen and shared how the record deal came along. Justin said he first heard her song on the radio in Canada [cue cheers]. When he was told she was available, Justin decided to call her up and offer her a record contract — like it’s an everyday thing.

Justin also premiered 15 seconds of his new song “Boyfriend.” Ellen tried to predict the melody a couple weeks ago, though thankfully her ability to predict the future was off because his version of the song sounds much better.

So far, Justin has been the best promotion Carly has ever gotten. Her song is catchy on its own, but Justin has wisely used social media to showcase “Call Me Maybe.” His girlfriend Selena Gomez tweeted a photo of him smiling at Carly’s song and he also called up a bunch of his conveniently famous friends to create a homemade music video, which has more than triple the views than the one Carly made. So the promotion goes both ways…

Today Brittany talks about Justin Bieber and Carly Rae Jepsen on Ellen, Kim Kardashian getting flour bombed and a grandma reads Snoop Dogg’s tweets.

Wow, if I knew Ellen was on this season of The Bachelor, maybe I would have watched it! To prove that she was indeed on this season, she presented a clip of her being interviewed on “The Bachelor: The Women Tell All.”

Before, the episode was just a long montage of catty women grimacing at one another but Ellen adds the punch it needs, don’t you think? It looks like things didn’t go too well in the house but Ellen has an answer for all the accusations.

Justin Bieber spent his 18th birthday on Ellen’s couch and she surprised him by kidnapping a fan and surprising her. Ellen’s crew blindfolded the young girl and put her in a box with airholes poked in the side. Then they threw the box on the back of a cargo truck and drove her down to the set. Kids, do not trust strangers like that.

Also, if I were this girl I would have appreciated fair warning from my parents. You know, something like “honey, there may be a chance you’re appearing on national television today so why not ditch the sweats?”

Anyway, they rolled her on to the set and she emerged from the box like she was waking from the dead. But I supposed getting a hug form her idol was worth it in the end.

My heart is melting. This morning Taylor Swift and Zac Efron went on the Ellen Show and unleashed their general cuteness on the world. The duo skirted around rumors that they are dating, but they clearly should be.

Swift has been teaching Efron how to play the guitar and they revamped Foster the People’s “Pumped Up Kicks” just for the morning show host. They sounded pretty good and even changed up the lyrics.

Swift and Efron were there to promote their new movie The Lorax. Although the whole act was clearly choreographed their chemistry seems pretty natural.

While Swift shared a story about her Valentine’s Day “singles” party with her friends, Efron said he had dinner with a special friend. He was pretty cryptic about who this special someone is but I don’t think it’s Taylor. But the rumor is certainly good promotion for their movie…

Ellen comes to the rescue again. 17 year old Samantha Garvey is a science genius whose an aspiring marine biologist. She was also one of the 300 semi-finalists for the annual Intel Science Talent Search.

However, Samantha and her family are homeless. So Ellen and AT&T are giving Samantha $50,000 towards her schooling, reports MTV. Also, donations are pouring in after Samantha’s numerous media appearances. Now she and her family have found a new place to live.
